I refuse to give Harley-Davidson any more of my money. I will consider spending my money at a dealer again if, the current board gets the boot and a new board goes back to just building and selling motorcycles and not using our money to push their personal agendas. The aftermarket is large enough to supply me with whatever I need for my bike. Anyone that has a classic is already relying on aftermarket for the vast majority of their parts. I do feel sorry for the Dealerships and their employees but not sorry enough to send my money to causes that I do not support.
And that is a good stance…as part of my research for this topic I looked at other companies who are doing this same. It’s shocking! To a point of someone truly opposes this they basically would have to move into the mountains and live off the land. Almost every major automotive company, store chain, clothing company is doing the same. But like I said, I respect and support anyone who stands up for their beliefs.
I personally don't care it's everyone's fault this crap is happening we let all this crap start up many years ago and everyone ignored it and now here we are
Could not have said it better my friend we let this shit happen if you don't stand up for your rights and what you believe in it's over just like what their trying to do with our 2nd amendment right use your rights or lose your rights
@@sidthompso8097 that’s the point. Words (first amendment) are just words. Actions make things happen. No one is truly boycotting anything. They are publicizing it.
Well, what is woke, for me it is just don't be a dick to others and bitch about change? - ?If you stand for Freedom, but not everyone's, all you stand for is YOUR privileges!
I can't boycott everything. But I can boycott Harley Davidson and Bud light easy. So I will make my stand where I can. I want to send a message, go woke go broke. I'm going to indie shops and aftermarket parts dealers.
You may want to research what companies are doing the same. I did…it’s shocking. GM, Toyota, Walmart, Converse, Kohl’s…are just a few…so, as I mentioned. So, to select just 1 or 2 is not a boycott.
Very well said. I usually find that most people that are against something instead of for something aren’t really that at all. They just need someone they can have an open conversation with, without the drama of what the media sometimes shows us. I’ve truly met very few people that, after a honest non-judgmental conversation, don’t want the same things we all do. Seeing different ways to get there is okay. We’re supposed to debate and find solutions and paths forward that serve us all and are better because we each had a voice and we discovered those paths together. We have to meetup sometime. I’m at the VB oceanfront. If not, I’m sure I’ll bump into you sometime at Southside HD. We need voices like yours. Keep up the good work. We’re all in this together.
Oh, and Harley-Davidson said there won’t be any jobs lost because of moving the production of Rev Max engines to Thailand. They said they want to focus on the Grand American Touring bikes in the US. Hopefully, they stick to their word and no jobs are lost here.
I am the owner of a 2000 XL1200c and a 2003 FLSTC both purchased used. I am not selling either one. These are my 5th and 6th Harleys. The prior 4 Harleys were purchased new. So, I've sent a lot of money their way. I totally disagree with the buffoons running the show at Harley headquarters. Harley obsoleted my rides years ago and have taken steps to make it very difficult keep them on the road with THEIR help. Harley doesn't have anything I can't buy from someone else!
Both are fantastic bikes! I had a 2001 XL 1200, great little bike. I’m on my 3rd now and it’s 2016 so it will be put out to rest soon too. Like you I typically do my own work or go to a local shop. I did see HD released a statement today pulling back on some of the decisions they have made. So, maybe they are getting the message…I don’t know. Most companies have or are going in the same direction. Thanks for stopping by.
What I find humor in is the amount of people and channels that don't ride or own a motorcycle. Nothing like a hunting or cooking channel telling me that they will never buy a Harley. A lot of hype out there. 🤣
@@mikesharp8200 yeah me either and if truth be told Harley sold out their base during the Dr./lawyer phase. The thing that did come out of that for us was great low mileage used bikes. 😂
Pre Woke! That HVBR knows his stuff! The first few minutes were hilarious but I appreciate you bringing up the point about folks losing jobs over a potential boycott. Nobody is selling their bikes. Period. Too much time and money spent on parts and merchandise…
@@BigSmittyRiding HVBR is something else…100 % Smitty! I don’t see anyone going that far. I hope this simmers down soon. It’s almost “Motovlogging is dead” season.
I love how he just popped up in the garage. Well said. It way easier to use the work boycott without thinking about the impact on those communities. Words have power. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but you still shouldn't yell fire in a crowded movie theater.
Good video, and well said. What would we do if HD went under? Do people reallly believe 100% of their HD is American made? What does that do to all the downstream folks who earn a living indirectly? I will still support them because my local store is locally owned and employs locals in my community.
Nice video!! I say all the time that words matter. I really try to convey exactly what I mean by the definition of the word. Seeing things as they are.....I don't have a stance on this and not even aware of what took place. I'm going to do some research but I don't see what was done changing what bike I ride or supporting the dealerships that support us.
That’s a good stance man! In the end does it really impact you and me the consumer. Companies do what they need to do to make money. If they make money we save money. Otherwise the cost is passed to us. If we analyzed every product we used we would basically have to go back a couple hundred year and do without. It’s the price of progress. All we can do is live our lives the best way we are comfortable with. Like I said, be able to look in the mirror. Thanks Man!
I can't stop watching this. I don't know how he keeps getting in your house but I love that his values are stronge unless there are free hotdogs. I have done way worse for less 😂.
No cripple the sht out of it most people can't afford to trash an already purchased bike but those bike do support them anyway but definatly don't buy anymore they can hate you without your money.
You are no different than the cancel culture Karen's you complain about .... just join forces and complain about shit you know little or nothing about.
@@geo.037 hmmmm…I mean you are kinda right. I admit I really don’t know why everyone is so upset about something about 90% of companies do in America. I mean, no one is making videos about Kohl’s, Converse, Toyota, GM…etc. going woke. And actually everyone is mis using Woke also. Woke is being aware or Racial inequality. I mean we all should be woke right…but hey…what do I know. Thanks for the comment!
You can look the other way like all the other people don’t care 🤷♀️ Just look the other way way it’s easy Strong times from hard men but now easy times create men that don’t stand for shit
Couldn’t agree more…but just talking and not doing is worse. Stand for what you believe in and give 100%. Don’t stop with HD, take a look around you. GM, Ford, Toyota, Walmart, Khols,…etc all have done the same. So have at it. Stand for what you believe in.
I think every moto company including automotive has gone or is going the same way. But yeah, I don’t want to see anyone loose business or a job. Too much of that going around.
chiefly US slang 1 a : aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social justice) This is the Merriam-Webster definition of woke. So the opposite would be?
You know, I almost went there. People are mis-using “woke” too. This term started as being aware of racial prejudice. Based on the definition we should all be “Woke”
as I've mentioned and done a couple shorts about..this whole thing isnt why i got issues with HD its their whole back ordered parts BS that's been around now since 2020..especially with commonly well known failure parts but yet hd keeps on making sure dealers dont have parts that should be at dealers...the whole leaving the bike in south dakota for the next month so i can get back to the house to keep my job its got me really debating about getting another harley right now if ever.
@@Ucmpigs well one thing I know for me is once the bike is paid off things are gonna drastically change for me..being the warranty will run out at that time I'll then look at other options for myself at that point.
@@2ndprotectsthe1st27 and that is exactly what I’m talking about. We all have a choice. Now me, if I feel that strong about something I totally cut it off. However, in the world we live in almost every commodity has taken the high road.
Stop it man speaking your real feelings is what your 1st amendment right is about Stop stumping on the crap your trying to say you would get more respect if you stopped worrying about shit your worrying about and you know exactly what im talking about but hey man that's what choices are about and im cool with what ever you feel you need to say
@@sidthompso8097 dude! Your comment proves my point🤣 I quit playing “I know you are but what am I” a long time ago. Thanks for driving this home for me👍
