There is not a lot of bikes that looks better without the windscreen but this is one of them. I really like the look of this bike..And it looks much better without windscreen.
I turn 73 this coming year and purchased a Heritage Softail Classic 114 in January 2020 with a stage one upgrade. I agree with you, also LOVE mine. They are a great Harley with lots of power. It appears you have a very pretty area to ride. There is nothing like a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. I am a life time HOG member. Enjoy your rides. From Arkansas, USA.
I also have the 2018 FLHCS and agree with all of your comments. I put some on some slip ons and a couple of speakers ... Every time I get on it I am smiling and always enjoy the ride. Stay safe .....
New sub here, nice bike & review! My brother has a 2008 & it's awesome, I know the new ones are even better, I'm currently riding a 1995 Sportser & love it but will soon be looking to get something more comfortable for longer rides & the Heritage is number one on my list.
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man haha, no I'm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA. Your vid just popped up on my home page & I love the looks, style & ride of the Heritage.
Eagerly waiting for my brand new Harley Slim to arrive in Feb and that's how I got to your videos. Not only they made me jealous of your outstanding bike choice, but I got fan of your presentation style. You're stiff upper lip- cool-funny in a very own way. HD has got a bloody good representative in you, man. They owe you! 😊 And as a tall bloke myself, your settings are really useful.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Glad you changed your mind. At least I've got a tiny chance to be Mr Cool on his Slim now 😉 Just one: does it help to feel more spacy with this high handle bars or it's the same as with low bars? High bars look even more 40ies I think.
Fabien H 👍Cool Slim! I think the Slims bars should give you plenty of room, the difference being your arms are angled down. The ape hangers give you more of a straight forward arm angle. I’d definitely keep your bike stock to start with and only change things as you need to, based on the look you want and how it feels
What a gem of a bike! Great review and for someone like me looking to move over to the HD brand and lifestyle this has really whetted my appetite! Thanks for taking the time to share with us. Cheers
I can feel the love! Best bike I’ve ever owned! That 114 is a torque monster too. Recommend the Rinehart slip ons. You won’t be disappointed. And bring back your blonde friend. She’s easier to look at next to your scooter. 😎😜
Andy Foley Yes I love the torque too! I watched your video of the Rhinehart slipons - they sound great. I’ve already ordered some V&H Eliminator 300’s though
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man V&H slip ons will work well. Put them on a sSportster I owned in the past. They sounded great! Want to hear them when you get them on that torque monster!

Mine is a 2002 FLSTC. Sir I really love my scoot. I have poured about $14000.00 after my purchase price of $9868.23 {cash no payment} I must say your scoot looks fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heavy bikes have some advantages, my Dyna and I weigh 440kgs together, I hit an emu at 110kph and nearly cut the poor thing in half, the bike barely deviated, I was a bit lucky as well.
Just picked that exact same bike at the local dealer here in Honolulu today, was a 2019 with only 348 miles on it. The bike is absolutely stunning with it being all blacked out and the ride is amazing. The only down side is those stupid quiet pipes. I'm looking at some Vance & Hines slip ons
@@MrDarcy-OlMan.... Seriously? What is wrong with modifications to your bike as long as safety isn't compromised. Sounds like your lawmakers (just like our dumb ass president) have too much time on their hands. Hopefully you find another... 👍 Take care and Aloha...
Hey Mr.D Just kidding around.I have the exact same bike in Red Iron Denim. I love the bike. Put Rineharts in Black on the bike and love the sound. Ride safe.
I appreciate the footage showing you on the bike. I have researched bikes for a few years, still saving miney. I like everything about the herritage. However, I am 6'2" and have seen reviews suggesting that a person my size would be more comfortable on a touring bike. So, I am left with the choice of a Road King. Funny, now Harley considers the Herritage to be a touring bike. Anyway, showing the foot positions and Handel bar adjustment option gave me more confidence that this bike will work for me. Yes, I need to test drive both models. I plan to drive the motorcycle as a commuter to work, 20 minutes each way. Maybe I will take a couple short trips as well?? What did you like better about the Herritage compared to the Road King? Thank you!
E M I disagree with people who say you’d be more suited to a touring bike, I myself am 6’3 and have ridden both motorcycles, I would 100% say the heritage would be a better bike for your type of journey and is perfect for your height! You can check out our road king review on our channel too.
@@EM-eg3qc Great! Thanks buddy. I forgot to mention, the Heritage is actually slightly bigger and has a roomier riding position than the Road King, and the suspension is better!
Yes you made the right decision, black looks absolut cool, a friend of mine baught the two colour Gray , the bike looks totally different compared with my black beauty.
Whats good too is this bike allows you to ride with your legs sticking straight out to the side for it is very versatile bieng it dosen't have anything to stop you from riding with your legs straight out to the side lol.
Looks like you swapped out the bars to apes. Maybe I missed you mentioning that. Looks good. The Cons I have read/heard so far is; The weight (compared to Avg. it's heavy and traction can be wakening on wet roads because of it's torque
They’re actually the standard bars! With the screen off you can really see them. It is heavy but not noticeable when riding. It’s nowhere near as heavy as the touring models. The torque is huge for sure; that’s what is great about it. The stock tyres are poor tbh
First of all, your channel is excellent, and I quite enjoy the video reviews from the perspective of a tall rider. I wanted to ask, could you comment a bit about the M8 114's air cleaner, like you have on your Heritage Classic? Any detriment to riding the bike in the rain without the rain sock on the air cleaner? I have a 2019 Fat Bob, and I zip tie the rain sock on, but it looks silly with the zipties and tends to undo itself without the zipties. I'm in Scotland and it's wet often, and I'd like to ride without the rain sock on, but not if leaving it off will actually harm the bike! Let me know your thoughts!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thank you sir. Sigh, I'll always keep it on then, because it's always wet up here, or at least there's always a chance of rain. I need a more elegant solution than two zipties. Let me know if you have any suggestions and if you know of any waterproof air cleaners out there! Thanks again!
@@MrDarcy-OlMan It should be the same sock as yours, yes, it's the default H-D one. It does start to come off, yes, when I'm riding. The wind catches under the lip of the air cleaner and starts to tug the sock off. I think it would be better if the elastic was stronger. Perhaps that's the issue, worn elastic!
Great review. I also have the exact bike and have done c 15,000 enjoyable miles and love the bike. I have a question. At high speed when changing lanes on the motorway it wobbles slight as it goes over the uneven tarmac joint. I don't get the same effect on other bikes. Have you noticed the same? Many thanks
It only weighs 335 kg (699lbs) so it's not that heavy a bike. I'm not into the classic look. That's the main reason I'm not an Indian fan, but I understand they are really nice bikes also. But it is a really nice bike. Enjoy it and Ride Safely 😊
I know this is an old video but i was wondering do you miss the heritage, you're right that it's a great looking bike, very different from the BMW, which do you think is the better bike, personally the only thing that puts me off about the BMW is those massive bugs either side of the engine, being a tall as you are sodyou find it restrictive in anyway, does it affect the comfort over long distances.
They’re both awesome bikes. I actually find the R 18 more comfortable on longer journeys. The cylinders don’t get in the way in reality and it’s certainly more unique
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thank you for the reply, yeh that has actually surprised me, my friend whose RU-vid channel goes by the name username Kate worked at Motorrad in Manchester, she was saying it's a fantastic bike, she also mentioned that motorrad had or were bringing out some sort of protective cover that would allow a ride to rest their legs on top of the cylinders,i know all the reviews are excellent on it and it really looks the part, unfortunately i can't test ride bikes due to having a prosthetic left leg, in the harley i have the Kliktronic gear changer, it's been a life changer and life saver, being able to ride really does do good for mental health. There's so many bikes you've both reviewed that i would love to try out, can't have it all i suppose, I'm just lucky to be able to ride. I know I'm going off topic here, but i know so many bikes who think their bike days are over once they become an amputee, but the organisation called NABD (National Association for Bikers with a Disability. They will provide the first adaption to your motorbike absolutely free, they are amazing people, they paid for my very first Kliktronic, if you're ever stuck for something to do you could interview Kieth at Kliktronic, he'll tell your subs how the Kliktronic came into being manufactured, i think your subscribers would find that interesting as would an interview with Rick Hulse the main man with NABD, i think it would be an amazing video, even if it only gets one bike back in the bike is worth it.
I met Kate a couple of months ago at a Triumph dealership launch. The Honda Rebel 1100 with DCT is another option I guess. Thanks for telling us your story 💪🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan hi . Good to know u r previous owner of HD SOFTAIL HERITAGE now riding BMW R18 . which one better . I am confused between them . I've visited both dealers love them both .
@@naseeb414 both tremendous bikes. R18 is more of a statement; crazy, outrageous, but brilliant. Heritage Classic is versatile, wonderfully torquey and a great bike
Apart from bag space I'd say the Heritage is a much better bike. I've owned an M8 Street Glide Special before my Heritage and the chassis coupled with the new mono shock is far better. The bike doesn't suffer from updraft like the touring bikes and it comes with LEDs. I wouldn't go back now 🤘
Walt Stovall Dictionary Definition of Pannier: A pannier is one of two bags or boxes for carrying things in, which are fixed on each side of the back wheel of a bicycle or motorbike.
