That does not work so easy with a fuel injected bike. With fuel injection the tank has to be "purgued" first, that's to say the pressure in the tank by the fuel pump has to be released and the tank has to be drained before disconnecting any fuel lines.
@@ramonarache7755no it does not need to be purged and drained. The fuel injected type. I have a 2004 fuel injected deuce and I've had the tank off several times with and without gas & never had to purge it. always fired back up when I put fuel in it again or just put it back on.
@@johnnylopez6825 Yes I’m aware that the wires are not in the tank. The question is can you access the coil to install the wires onto the coil without removing the tank.
Can’t you just pull the vacuum line from the petcock, and put an 1/8” vacuum line to it from a handheld vacuum pump to open the valve? If you do that you can just pull the fuel line off the carburetor and open the fuel shutoff. Shouldn’t need to remove the tank or spill any gas.
This video was about removing the gas tank. He just did it without draining the fuel first. You are right about using a handheld vacuum pump to remove the fuel. But if you are removing a tank that has the crossover fuel hose, you do need to disconnect that hose to remove the tank. I myself want to remove the fuel before I remove my tank
Not so great. Your bike and you are covered in fuel. It will stink for days!!!! Next time try 2 vice-grips at the connector tube, cut in-between and replace the hose afterwards . Couldn't be more than a couple of bucks for the 10 inches of hose. It's old anyway.
