Although I run a 48, nobody warned me it would run like a dog at low revs. Just had it in for the 5000 mile service and mentioned the over-revving and was told the Stage 1 doesn't create enough back pressure at low revs. I can live with that, just thought anyone considering V&H S/S, fuel map and Screaming Eagle air cleaner ought to be aware it'll run as rough as a badgers arse. But don't worry. Enjoy the sound and extra power.
thanks for the link to this.. with th quiet baffles on the shorts, it sounds like my factory exhausts were put back on. but the performance is without question.
Well, some countries have more strict regulations when it comes to the decibels these puppies put out, ergo putting baffles can minimize the decibels and enjoy the ride with no law enforcement hassles.
They do nt live in India , where anything goes. Heck even if you ride without any exhaust , you may still get away. A civilized person is worried about disturbing neighbours . Im and Indian and own 883 with V&H exhaust. Frankly im scared to start up before 8 am and after 6 pm.
Could you really tell a difference with the quiet baffles? Seems like it sounds more throaty/deeper with the quiet baffles. I read the low end torque and back pressure go up with quiet baffles. So said anyway.
I was just kidding... Great Video and the pipes do sound Pretty good... I was thinking about getting Grenades because they are loud.... but this video might have changed that... These pipes are nice...
Frankie, I already changed it back to the original vance and hines baffles.... At first its a lot louder than factory exhaust so i decided to put quiet baffles, they are good, but then i felt like i needed more loudness on the street so, i tookem' off and put the vance and hines factory baffles.... They are loud for the neighborhood, but perfect when you are riding....
+Josh Maldonado very comfortable... I have tried different seats, for example: the iron 883 2015, and this one is a lot more comfortable than the others that i've tried...
I ran it for a couple days as it was after the installation, and maybe a week later I took the bike to the store for tunning.... basically you can run it without the tuning, but with the tunning, they make sure the amount of the mix of gas and air is the correct... they can set that up during the tune up so... yes, it is kind of important !
Exactly... In the video, you cant tell the difference, if the bike is in front of you, you'll notice the difference... And even more if you are riding... I ended un putting back stock baffles because when i was riding, It felt like it was too quiet so... But if you live in a nice quiet neighborhood, its good to have them on
I just install on my 2016 iron 883 (just like you) but I notice the 2 pipes are not aligned because of the racket come with the pipes. Can you look at these pictures and tell me if it normal or I miss something? Thank you very much! flic.kr/p/NffTom flic.kr/p/NGKVUz flic.kr/p/NyYKDx
