Harley Davidson Rear Fender Rail Softail Deluxe 

I didn't drill the fender. It was had to do but it is possible to cut the bolts to a length just inside the fender strut. Loosen all the other bold and that will let the strut slide out and give you enough room to get the bolts tightened. It's not easy but it is possible.

You didn't need to drill at all, just use short bolts. The bottom bolt doesn't fit without drilling because these rails are for the normal Heritage, not for the DeLuxe.

Wish you wouldve showed the entire process

Use jbweld putty on the rail bracket where you didn't drill

Add some 3m double sided tape to the bottom of the bracket where you didn’t drill a hole
