Thanks for posting this video. I found it very helpful when I had to make a similar repair on mine (retaining ring failure).

If it helps I use long acorn nuts on my exhaust studs which stopes any corrosion and crud getting on the thread.

You are one lucky guy not to have developed a gasket leak by the way that gasket looks. They make a tool to install the gasket or you can make one yourself for about $5. Ultra Copper Permatex gasket sealer would have given you a little insurance but all in all the bike sounds like it’s running pretty well. Hope it holds up for you.
