You may have seen these performance west coast style saddlebag guards recently released by Harley Davidson and from a few other aftermarket companies. Well they are super expensive running from $400 to $700 depending on the brand and options selected...this seemed a bit much so I went on the hunt to find a set that are less expensive yet are a good quality. In this video I share with you where I found a set meeting those criteria and show you how to install them and where to buy them with links in the video description so you too can save a bunch of $$$$ as compared to other brands in the market. Please watch, like, share, comment and subscribe. When you do subscribe, leave a comment below stating, "I Subscribed" so I can reach out and thank you for supporting the channel. Thanks for watching and ride safe! Rick HDVIBE
Just installed these on my 21 HD Roadglide special!! Thank you very much for the video! Your measurement for cutting the saddlebag brace was spot on. Always very informative videos.

In my opinion, the Harley Davidson ones look better. Looks are subjective though. I’m interested to see how well they protect the bike when you fall. I know my TCMT crash guards work great, so I wonder how these hold up! Great video Rick!
Thanks, Joe, for watching and commenting. Since the Road Glide is not my primary slow speed practice bike, I decided to change the look up just a bit. I'm still running the TCMT loop style on the CVO and ST with the motorcycle drop guards. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching, commenting, sharing and subscribing. I look forward to seeing your comments on other and future videos. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
I bought a set for my 24 RoadGlide, the bars fit right up, however my aftermarket Mustang seat doesn't sit properly. The pan sits on top of the bar, where it's slightly rounded. the exact fitment is off, you can still secure the seat but it's a process, also on a long ride where the seat contacts the Upper bar on top of the frame will cause some extreme discomfort after about 3 to 5 hours riding. Most of my trips are 10 to 13hrs. I've Ridden on a few long trips prior to installing these crash guards with no issues. Even on SADDLEMANS site there's a warning that SEAT WILL NOT WORK WITH CRASH BARS. Pretty sad when you spend this kind of money for a GREAT SEAT, SADDLEMAN or MUSTANG and they won't work with saddlebag guards...😢
Thanks Rodney for watching and sharing that info. On my 2021 with the Saddlemen Step Up all is fine. I have heard the same from others on the 2024s with aftermarket seats. I wonder if it's the same with the stock seat. Thanks for your continued support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Yes, Sir, those are dang sweet! I've got the OG not yo daddys bars front and rear on my 1 year color of Black Jack Metallic and Chrome, and I did go with the black bars on my 21 FLHXS. Can't wait to see if you get the front bar and then do a test pick up on yours to see if its any easier to pick up with those bars than the stock style...
Thanks Cory for watching and commenting. I may just have the front as well...and I may have a follow up video coming out soon 😁 Thanks for your continued support. Ride safe and enjoy. 👊✌️👍

Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing. The bags on the road glide are the CVO style stretched bags and these are good for style bags. The roller sits below the bag so good protection. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👍✌️👊
Thanks for watching, commenting, and subscribing. That is a great question that I will answer in this Friday's video. They do make the front flat out crash bar and I do believe it will work with the CVO style lower spoiler. So stay tuned...the video will be released tomorrow at 5pm Central along with links to the front crash bar. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

Great video Rick. If/when I am ready to get a 2024 street glide I would put these on the back and front. Question. Can you use these to help pick the bike up when it falls over?
Thanks Scott for watching and commenting. These could definitely be used to pick up the bike should one drop it. Stay tuned, I may just have a front crash guard upgrade to share in the next week or two. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
That is odd. As I said in the video, the original left one I received was produced incorrectly. They fixed the left side guards, sent me a new one, and all fit perfectly on my 2021. Mine came from their normal stock.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Another viewer had the same comment. I think they definitely give you more to grab onto if you should have to pick up the beast after a tip over. Thanks for watching and commenting. A chrome version will be coming out soon. I recently got that info shortly after the video went live. So stay tuned. Dang I got the same floor as you with matching color, the same bike but not the same color and the same saddlebag guards I ordered last week. I’m trying to be like you 😂

Thanks for watching and commenting. Based upon my sitting on the pillion on the bike with the tip over bar does not impact the passenger. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👍👊
I just ordered the same ones last week, but off of eBay. With red spacers and black sliders. Hopefully the Microsoft crash isn’t going to delay the shipping to bad. I ordered them just in time to get them before Sturgis. But then the Microsoft software update crashed almost every flight scheduler worldwide. So now who knows.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes the Microsoft deal is definitely a mess. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

Thanks for watching and commenting. Harley does state that, however, as I noted in the video, I have seen the Harley version installed just fine on earlier model bikes. @@HDVIBE thanks I don’t get why Harley would say it won’t fit if it actually works…. This from the Harley site: Question: 4/21/2024 Will these fit 22 Road King Special? Robert - Miami Answer question Answer: Hello Robert, Unfortunately, this does not fit a 22 Road King Special. Fits '23-later FLHXSE, FLTRXSE and '24-later FLHX, FLTRX, and FLTRXSTSE models. Thanks Blaze

A couple of quick questions, if I may? Where you cut the bar, do you treat it so it doesn't rust? What made you decide to go with the black? As far as styling goes, o have mixed emotions. Could those pucks dig in and cause the bike to tumble on a slide? I suppose the rolling pucks would fend that off. Great job as always, Rick. On another note, I'm installing OEM heated grips on the Revival. I know you've done a few. I'll have to go back and rewatch those videos.
Thanks Eric for watching and commenting. I didn't paint the rail after I cut it. I guess you could definitely put some spray rustoluem on it it one felt the need. In looking at the cut end, it looks as though it may actually be aluminum...but not 100%. Definitely a different look than the standard or old school loop type. They have definitely served me well, but, going a little different direction with the look on the RGS. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
The ends are a type of plastic they are made to change when they get damaged. Secondly if you decided to buy from the real designers of these bars you would know Santoro fab works have install videos on how to do it. Not yo daddies crash bars are who originally make these in California. I have them on my bike. Harley and others copied their designs.
The outside diameter is 1 1/4" just like the front crash guard on my 2021 RGS. The old style loop crash guards are 7/8". Thanks Kelly for check it out. ✌️👊👍
I bought 2 sets and had to return them because they were poorly made. Total crap not worth the money and not powder coated but spray painted badly. They must have sent you a hand-pick set because you made a video.
Thanks for watching and commenting. Was it the same brand that I used as noted in the video? There are several sellers on Amazon and I have heard of issues with other brands.
Thanks for watching and commenting. While I did not tip the bike over in the video, they bar style saddlebag guards are thicker than the loop style I had on previously and the sliders are just a bit lower than the loop style. So overall I do believe they will properly protect the bags and exhaust from hitting the ground should the bike be dropped. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. If you haven't yet subscribed to the channel I'd be honored if you'd consider doing so. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍
Thanks for watching and commenting. They do make the front flat out style as well. I plan to do a video on that product this week Friday. In the meantime, I will include the link below for you to check it out. amzn.to/4d71e5D Thanks for your support and ride safe.
@@HDVIBE I wonder if the Harley ones will fit on there!! Break down on the parts list show a part number of 49000243 for their rollers as a serviceable replacement part. But as you mentioned on the price difference, Harley probably wants 50 bucks a wheel LOL
@dustin9779 That is a good question. I'm not sure if the would fit or not. I did see they have a part number, but I haven't seen them for sale separately.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I've dropped my bikes several times because I practice technical slow speed motor officer type patterns. I'm average height at 5'10" but I'm always pushing myself to do more difficult maneuver so drops will happen. If you are already a subscriber to the channel...thank you. Rick, i have liked your video channel but putting skateboard wheels on a custom harley in my opinion is cheesy looking. Again imo, to each his own, but can you show how those work when the bike is dropped at slow moving speeds repeatedly. I bought the motorcycle drop guards that you did a video on after you showed in the video how extremely well they protect the bike and primary cover when the bike is repeatedly dropped while training. I will say younwere right in that the motorcycle drop guards have worked incredibly well, and I say this after i have personally, repeatedly dropped my bike while developing motor officer slow speed skills in training. The drop guards have been the best investment i have made for my skills and my bike, and most dont see them until I point them out, but now you are pushing these skateboard wheels, so are they better than the drop guards? Hopefully this isnt the case, but it seems like your channel is becoming a paid advertisement channel like the be the boss guy who is looking to make money on anything and everything. I watch ride like a pro and they only endorse motorcycle drop guards, and Jerry still says they offer the best protection and he hasn't endorsed any other product for protection. Thanks
Thanks for watching and commenting. I definitely recommend the motorcycle drop guards especially for slow speed maneuvers. I have them on the other two bikes. The Road Glide is not necessary my go to bike for practicing slow speed maneuvers. I put this style of guards on the RGS as this is more my hot rod bike. I appreciate your comment and this style is definitely not for all. Thanks for your support and ride safe. 👊✌️👍

I have the real not yo daddies crash bars on my bike. I support American made products.as far as I know Santoro started the crash bar trend and everyone else including Harley copied them with the looks and replaceable sliders. I’ve been on the phone with them several times and their customer service has always been excellent. Even returning my calls and voicemails the same day as with the other companies I dealt with. Santoro, Sawicki, fuel moto, to name a few. I’m not into supporting knockoff China made garbage that hurts small American businesses. I’m all for saving money but not like this. All my aftermarket parts come from the original manufacturer. I paid the 100 bucks for my Cadillac wheels from Santoro. Besides that you late to the party with this video. These style crash bars have been out for years now.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I certainly understand your perspective. I just attempt to show options. As for being late...just showing a product not saying it's first. I actually stated others came first even before the Harley version. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍
Do not buy these. Three weld angles were off on both sides. Returning them and buying the name brand instead. This is what happens when trying to save some money. Spend the money on good ones.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I covered that in the video and shared the info with the company. If it is the brand I noted in the video, the correction was made and all fit perfect as shown in the video. Thanks for your support and ride safe. ✌️👊👍

No man, those are terrible. Your bike looked great before you put that crap on it. It flowed from front to back. Chromed in just the right spots. I wouldn't even put those on my bike if they were Free!!!
