Having gotten back into motorcycling in 2013, after some thirty plus years, l thought the HD Tri-Glide was the right fit. Having no experience riding two up, the Tri- Glide provides that extra level of comfort and safety for my Wife and l. Not having to put my feet down in stop and go traffic and heading into a corner with unseen gravel are some of the benefits of riding the Tri-Glide. Thanks for sharing. Safe Travels.

Just how heavy is the steering? Is it comparable to a Quad Bike? I found Quad Bikes unpleasant to steer at lower speeds and didn't want to find out what anything more than very moderate speeds felt like.

57 yr old female and can take turns like a champ, right behind my son on his Road Glide. Tail of the Dragon is another story.... I traded my Indian Chieftain Dark Horse for a Triglide. Best decision ever. I love it.

Ridden for 51 years. I've had a Honda, Kawasaki, Triumph and 6 Harley's with the 2019 TRI-GLIDE being my last one. I ride with buddies and stay with them in the corners. The straight, they pull away. My trike is an absolute blast, very comfortable, and no more worries about lose gravel etc. My wife now rides with me and loves it. Weak knees put me on a trike and I've ridden it on several 200 mile trips and no more backaches. In license school I was only one who scored 100% on the course (my state requires a 3 wheel seperate from the two wheel licence). Dealer told me give it a month and then decide if you like it. It took me two weeks. Ready this next summer for a 1000 mile trip.

I understand you’re a young man but when you get older like I am in my 70s the trike allows me to keep riding which I thoroughly enjoy Yes it’s a little rough in the curves but you get used to it and you learn when to start the turn for the curve afterwhile it’s second nature just like riding two wheels wouldn’t trade my trike for anything My trike is a 2017 tri glide

I haven’t had a bike since the late 70’s-early 80’s. I bought an 04 Honda VTX just recently and didn’t like it at all. It was rough and really top heavy and I didn’t feel confident on it especially in slow turns. At my age, going on 62, and wanting to ride again found the trike was definitely the way to go. Confidence level, thrill level and back on the open road again was the ticket for me. Not to mention my wife wouldn’t get on a two wheeler because she was afraid of the lean. So, now we have a 2019 Triglide. I’m happy, she’s happy and we go everywhere together rather than having a hobby that separates us. Yes, some guys love their wife. So, to each his own, these things are everywhere and we all have huge smiles on our faces loving it. It may not be your thing yet...

Stop worrying about what people think and ride what's for you. He's doing alot of lying and putting on for a fan base and if you paid any attention he's not a good rider period. @@MOTOBLADE No, It's probably not your thing yet kiddo!. And I swore to myself at an age way younger than you that I'd quit if I couldn't ride 2 wheels anymore. Well after 55 years of racing Moto cross, Enduro racing which took a mass toll on my legs and body, and on the road with over 7 countries and 750K behind me, In which you'll need 2 or more lifetimes to catch up... I just bought a new 2022 tri glide to keep on keeping on! Oh I'm also a disabled vet with only 50% use of my legs. At least I'm still in the wind at my age. So when you match my miles and mass level of experience then let's talk and make videos eh!.

I been riding for over 20yrs. I finally broke down and got a 2019 TriGlide. The first thing I notice was the comfort. The second thing was my wife started riding with me again. which is a plus to me. 3rd you will get use to turning it. We rode from Detroit to DC last year and loved every mile of it.Before I forget. If while using the reverse, it shuts off. You simply tripped the Breaker on the Reverse Mortor. Remove the Side panel and Push Breaker button back in, and she will work again.

For health reasons just bought my first Tri Glide..2019- About everything he pointed out is spot on. The obvious main draw back is cornering. Mine is only 2 weeks old and 350 miles and already I've got it torn apart to add the lift kit which is suppose to make it corner better. From day 2 I added cruise pegs and a back rest to alleviate the 90 degree knee bend,,,big difference. One other big draw back is that the catalytic chamber is right under the passengers right foot floor pad,,,,Lots of heat. I'm eventually going to put taller bars and adjust them more towards me so I can not be so vertical. Overall, at least I'm back on the road as I sat out all of 2018 with a 2015 SG and 08 RK in the garage that I couldn't safely ride. I'm looking forward to making this thing my daily cruise. It is a blast to ride and will make road trips allot easier to pack for..

Is it worth it? If you don’t like holding up a top heavy beast at every start and stop, and If you are no longer feel confident on 2 wheels and still want to ride, absolutely! Not to mention stones, parade speed, sharp turns and the fact the wife doesn’t like the lean but you enjoy your time with your wife, absolutely! It’s not about the money for me. Buy an older one if need be, I’ll never be too cool to ride a trike.

You ask is it worth it , I've had one since 2010 having made several long trips on one i say yes they are worth it , I just bought a 2020 trike because of the experience with the 2010 . as far as the turning issue when you get used to the trike and how it handles it's not really an issue, it's not a problem it's just different. riding alone I prefer my Street Glide but when I ride with my wife it's the trike all the way, she feels safer and feels free to look around and move about, on the bike she fears moving around to much will throw me off (so to speak) Happy Wife, Happy Life.

I just did a Stage II with torque cam on my 2017 TriGlide. Also added Legends shocks with the lift which is really just replacing the bracket the bottom part of the shock attaches to. I took it out yesterday and had it up to 95mph. Still can't wipe the smile off my face for the handling and performance difference. Don't miss riding two wheels at all anymore.

Having steered an ATV myself I would say it is better than a quad/ATV. Something you would certainly learn and get used to, I just don’t ride a trike often enough for it to make sense to me. Just my 2 cents 🤷🏼‍♂️

Why do people always refer to three wheeled motorcycles as motorcycles then correct themselves to say trike. By definition a bicycle has two wheels and when you add a motor it becomes a motorcycle. A tricycle has three wheels and when you add a motor it also becomes a motorcycle. The prefix Bi or Tri is dropped from both.

@WSKeys1

A TriGlide might seem hard to steer, but if you use both arms you'll have no problems. Also, if you are concerned with dumping it while cornering the Tri Glide has an IMU (Inertia Measurement Unit) which actually is an inertia Management unit. In the event a rear wheel loses contact with the ground (airborne while cornering ) the IMU cuts power to the contact wheel by either throttling down or lightly braking. Have you ever seen anybody dump a TriGlide? Didn't think so. But.....with a FrankenTrike dumping is very possible and probable without the IMU.

I love my 2018 Ann with the stage 2, Not really for speed. More for comfort for the long hauls of 7 hours or more. Certainly, has a lot of storage, i use the RikRack. I find each person uses their own technique how to ride and handle the Trike, it is larger and safer on the roads. other drivers do take notice. No good in rainy wet weather, water gets caught up in the rear wheels, therefore affects the braking not as responsive in wet weather and takes a bit to slow it down.
@MOTOBLADE
@MOTOBLADE 3 месяца назад
Interesting perspective on the braking. I had not thought about that. I always assumed a trike would be safer in the rain. Probably still is as far as stability is concerned vs a motorcycle, but I had not thought about the braking. Traction control help/make any noticeable difference?
@leannemitchell5412
@leannemitchell5412 3 месяца назад
@@MOTOBLADE When the road is covered in water and the rain is coming down, stability of braking, just like being in a car. Poor and can be uncontrollable, trike has only got a short axle the wheels are close together, water gets caught up in the wheels. slow down and allow plenty of braking distance.

Experienced 2 wheel riders seem to have the most problems with TriGlides. Like putting feet down at stops, riding on the left or right side of the lane, trying to lean while cornering, and complaining about the difficulty in steering while not using both arms. Check out "Wanda's Ride" on YT, she is an awesome lady near 70 years of age that rides her own TriGlide.

It’s a shame that the HD dealer did not show you how the steering works. It’s different. There is not much danger of flipping with the RDS; it is setup to prevent that. They have a speed limiter set to 115 so it’s sort of a moot point on HD bikes. The cons after owning one for a year. The suspension is rough. I replaced it with legend suspension front and back. It’s heavy and accelerates quite a bit slower. I hd a stage 2 done to help. All make the trike great but adds to an already $$ ride

Many Harley dealerships can be quite accommodating with test rides so it’s worth asking them if they can help you get a test ride on one. If not, try another dealership. And I realy Like Harleys I took my road-test for my license back in 1976 and I road a Harley FXE Fright train 1200 ,and the Man doing the test told me I would never pass with such a big bike . And I passed it that day with flying colors .lol He apologized after the test ,and said he was wrong . I just laughed and told him I didn't think I would Pass either but it was all I had to take it on. lol So God bless all my Brothers ,and Sisters that ride . And I pray that the good Lord Watches over you and Keeps you safe .Amen

I have a 2023 Tri-Glide Ultra and my wife and I are both very happy with it. The handling you mentioned is definitely different, but once you learn how to handle the trike it is very easy and not overly demanding. I have no regrets over the price, the comfort and performance are worth it. Also, it is a very good looking ride. Mine is gold and black and we have gotten many compliments on the appearance. Thank you for your video.

Up -grading from my 2015 Free Wheeler to a Tri Glide in 2021 . but I got to say I can out run my 2 wheel friends . on the Dragon , Blue Ridge Parkway , through West Virginia , all over the south , mid west . don't matter where . Now I do gotta say the twisties on the dragon , and other challenging roads the front wheel tends to wash out over 45 mph . and you might lift a wheel . but I am hear to tell you unless you are on a sport bike I will out run you .

Tty pulling with one arm pulling with the other makes it less effort. Not bad with forward motion on the road. Betting you haven't done it much. You don't really feel turns as much unless you are in town.

I'm sure you could probably put highway pegs on it or something similar to allow you to stretch out. Harley also has extended crontol option for their bikes, allowing you to place the shifter and brake further forward. Worth asking if they can do those for the triglide as well.

Setting here I stopped this video to put a question to you addressing "turns". Hold Goldwings, addressed the turns by putting a 4 1/2 to 5 degree rake (CSC) on the front end (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8bujixWzQ3U.html - 1.05 minute mark).. Now for the question. Did Harley address this issue when making this trike kit? IT is a well know fact the the suspension front and rear is the first major upgrade to be done on the CVO, as to many reviews address the issue of it being just that bad, SO "Legend Suspension" here we come. CSC in the above linked description, addressed the issue, by doing the rake as the bike is being built. If, the conversion kit, does not include a rake kit for the front end, it might explain why the turns are so bad. I just watched Mat, from Laidlaw's, go out on a CVO tri-glide, and in one turn he scared me to death. IF, this bike, does not come with a new rake design for the front end, can it be added? As i write this, I am currently looking to buy one for my wife and I. I would prefer Harley, but, at the moment, it looks like Honda has Harley beat in looks, style, and comfort. Yet, it is not a Harley. Scottishxpride, TX.

@toml1578 4 года назад
Just a point of clarification, the Harley trike's (Tri-Glide Ultra and Freewheeler) are not kits. They are built as trikes from the ground up directly from Harley. As far as the turning goes, I added the lift kit to my 2018 and it took me about a week or so to get used to it.

I am not sure if you ever tried a can-am Spyder trike. But they handle great in curves , they have power steering and cannot be flipped. Also, no clutch for someone with a disability and one brake pedal for all tree wheels. Maybe worth looking into.

He is pissing and moaning about the handling, but it is obvious he is in experienced riding a Trike. I have found that handling is not much different then two wheels, twisty's are not a problem if you remember the basics, Head and Eyes, Transmission and Throttle and its a piece of cake.

They should have got someone who's more familiar and used to trikes to review this but this guy keeps talking about us if it's a motorcycle and it's not.

There’s no getting ‘a guy’ - Harley doesn’t hire me 😂 (I wish they did so I could get paid). I just go around and review 2 & 3 wheeled machines. I compare the trikes to motorcycles in Harley’s lineup because I’ve ridden everything else in Harley’s lineup and people ask me for a comparison to touring machines - because they may be considering a touring bike vs a trike. Sorry you didn’t like the review bro ✌🏻

Every time I see a trike I cringe so much. These things are so damn ugly and fruity that anyone who owns one should rethink their choices made in life. The last time I needed 3 wheels was learning how to ride a bicycle and I was 4-5 years old. But for grown men to have 3 wheels is just an embarrassment. Get offended all you want but at the end of the day you still paid 30k-40k+ for a pussy bike

obviously you've never suffered a life changing injury or illness or you wouldn't be so ignorant making such a comment. Thank HD that they make 2 awesome Trikes straight from the factory that still allow people to ride who otherwise would have to give up the joy and freedom riding give you. Maybe when you go up and experience life with all of it's ups and downs you'll grow up to be a real man and learn some compassion.
