They are real and not fake most of the time they will be the first pull over and help you on the side of the road. LLH&R Always. 💯

Sounds like a man that’s been on the side of the road more than one time. Great advice. How does the saying go? If you don’t schedule maintenance on your bike, your bike will do it for you!

@@imthebrosman Yeah I used to buy a lot of older bikes and learned the hard way, I used to enjoy buying bikes shops gave up on and fixing them. And your right, if you don't keep on top of the maintenance your going to be waiting to be towed away eventually.

I have never once in 60 years had a fuse go defective due to age. Good idea to carry spares fuses I guess.... takes up very little space. Get your fob batteries at a place that sells a LOT of batteries so you're sure of getting a fresh one. It's wise to replace them every Spring but I always get at least 2 years out of mine. If you know the symptoms of a weak battery you will usually get at least a few week's warning before they totally die. And of course there is a code sequence you can enter (see your owners manual) to bypass the fob if the battery goes dead. I do my own maintenance and keep on top of everything so it's rare indeed when the bike dies on me out on the road. There's a gazillion things on a Harley that need regular attention so keep a log.

@@franksaxton3583 I have had a fuse go a couple of times on me on bikes that have been 'older' bikes, that have been second hand, like you I do most of my own maintenance (also keep a log of service and repairs done by me), servicing and repairs, and usually previous owners (most of them) do no have the time or knowledge to keep their bikes maintained the way they should be kept, so for me its preventative maintenance, so I get a second hand bike with little service history, its fuses, new battery, oil and filter and brake fluid changes straight away. Also things like changing the fuel lines on a sportster every two years would come under preventative maintenance. I don't know if your the same in the UK as the UK, but battery packs come with a use/sell by date, however I have gone cheap in the past and those are the ones that can completely run dead within a day, like you said the expensive brand batteries usually give you a good warning.

I have a 2022 lowrider st and had the same problem , after replacing battery and then key fob battery still no luck check green wire on top of starter they can pop out as did mine. Plugged it in and all is well.

@@waydel1 yeah that solved my problem. The dealer picked it up and I was under the impression that it would be covered by the warranty! BUT since I installed a feuling oil dipstick ventilator. They denied it ! Since I switched out the dipstick they said I caused the wire to come out from the starter! I didn’t argue because there’s no point. Paid my. Bill and went on my way.

Should be zero volts. When you press the start button it should go to ~ 12.6 v. If it doesn't the start switch, run switch or the solenoid relay/fuse has a problem.

Turns out the BCM was toast. Replaced it, reprogrammed it, and it was all good.

Hi wasn’t aware of any reprogramming necessary. I’ve popped it open replace the battery and closed it back up. I am not saying that your bike doesn’t need reprogramming. For legal purposes. Good luck brother

Did you change the key fob battery? Those are the same conditions my bike was experiencing when it wouldn’t start and it turned out to be the key fob. Battery

Well, sorry, I don’t know what a V Reid is. But, all that aside, if she’s cranking over slowly, battery needs a recharge before further testing can be performed.

Cuz I’m not a RUB. Rich fuckers, i think I’ll buy new batteries for all my bikes. After all, it’s getting close to riding season. I can pick up my bike from the detainers, and be ready for a poker run, once it’s warm enough to leave the condo.

@@imthebrosman I guess it depends on your tolerance for pain. Over the eons I've learned to spot the symptoms of a weak battery and I do know how to start using the PIN #. I have several Harleys (none very new) and the batteries are a little over two years old so I am paying a lot of attention to the first signs of the batteries getting weak. You don't have to be rich to afford a couple of batteries but I'm a cheap character. If someone can't afford $5 for batteries maybe a Harley isn't for them. I'd be much more diligent about keeping the batteries fresh if there wasn't an easy work-around. A dead fob will never keep a savvy owner stranded.

My bime is a 2016 heritage softail classic.

The green wire coming off the starter, is all I got. If that connection is loose,? That five minutes thing before your fuel pump and gauges is kind of weird. maybe squirt some contact cleaner, electrical contact cleaner in the housing where your starter button is.

@@imthebrosman already did Brother as soon as I listened and watched your video lol life long bro, bro lol I put my 2009 Rocker back together and changed the battery in the key FOB And it fired right up lol But its alright had to change the oil tank hose it had some cracks and was starting to seep a little oil Now its like brand new again lol Thanks Again Brother
