The best thing I did to my 883 was purchase a 31 tooth front pulley for my belt drive. Totally transforms the Sportster 883. Cruising at 70mph is now running about the same RPM's as when I was traveling at 62mph. It should come with that pulley from the factory but its pretty inexpensive to fix the problem. They shot the 883 in the foot by gearing it to low, so you will think you need a larger bike and go buy one.
I fell in love with the sportster in the 70’s I remember a young man who had one that was black with the orange and black band with Harley shield on the peanut tank
I have had my 1999 883 Harley Sportster for 20 plus years you have 400,000 miles on the original engine. It has been more reliable than I ever saw possible from a regular motorcycle much less a Harley. People told me to put the 1200 kit in it and I said I'll wait until I wear out the stock Parts first and I think the bike is going to outlast me at least till the end of this life. I find it very amusing that just when Harley-Davidson discontinued the evolution Sportster the Chinese had one waiting in the wings to come out. Discontinuing the evolution Sportster another one of Harley's big mistakes that they have done in the last 20 years ever since they discontinued the evolution powered big twin.
I was wanting another 883, I've had 2, 02 & 04, solid mounted 02 with 3.3gal tank I liked much more than rubber mount 4.5 gal So I was looking at a 17 883 iron, it had loud pipes(that's a minus), monkey bars which I want, a solo Springer seat that sucked, 18k miles......$1000 less 19 1200 iron 5k miles stock pipes, no stupid "upgrades" 883 is definitely big enough to have fun especially in the curves, my 02 was a low and super in the curves What I really liked about the 883 is cruising 60mph they got 60mpg...... I've got 1 tank with 1200ns 43mpg, only 1 more than my Dyna (96ci) but 6 more than XR and V-Rod Hope you stay with 883, you can buy others and keep it but after the new is off the others you'll be on the 883......keep it or wish you had
Ride what you like i love my 1200 costom cp and get a lot of comments on it it has a 1 of a kind factory paint job that i have never seen another one like it
@@bjrnkristensen8132 Basically it's a hunk of metal that clamps the 2 fork tubes together just above the fender. removes all the wobble from the forks shifting in the corners most noticeable at high speeds. works great on my sporty.
Wow it was easily 15 years ago for the life of me i don't remember. but its about 3/4" thick and it goes straight across with a small hump in the middle. @@Robe326
Hey , he said that he didn’t buy it ,or order it from any stores or web site. He had bought them from a person who couldn’t get them to fit ( private sell ). And has no idea where he, had bought them .
Hey ! I do plan on making test videos in the near future and reviewing some products. You can message me at Clarknova123456789@gmail.com and let me know what you were thinking 👍 Cheers
I’ve been really thinking about buying one of these! But my fam is saying it’s too dangerous, that why would I buy one, any advice? Did your family say the same thing? I would just ride on the weekends I already have a truck. Also what do payment look like if I get it from the dealership? I have great credit Any advice from anyone I’m opened to hear anything
Yes, bikes are dangerous. Even crossing a busy street is a calculated risk . I know bikers who are literally in there 70’s, who’ve been riding there whole life .And we’ve all known bikers who died way too young . Sounds like your family cares about you , that’s awesome. Cheers
Is dangerous to be born! One day we will die😢😂, no don't think deep, ride your bike in good mode and be happy. Thousands died in car accident every year.
What did you do to the bike I have never heard of evolution Sportsters ever ruining their lifters. Do you put in a high Cam and use the stock lifters and springs instead of using stronger ones and it took them out?
Put a crash bar on your bike I know people don't like them but they will save you from expensive repairs if the bike just Falls over or if you have a slide out I'd rather have it slide on the crash bar. Another Channel gave a brand new 650 Himalayan to a new Rider and he wrecked it on camera and the one side of the bike looks like you took a grinder to it.
My son is 6’2”, loves his883. We did put highboy handlebars on. I’m 6’4” and love riding it too! Great bike, looks good, rides good! I will take from him if he ever decides to upgrade !
i gotta say before I exit,...youve got s gorgeous bike. HD needs to LEAVE IT ALONE. (KILL THE MUSIC). HD only wants to sell the high end bikes; hence, they/ve discontinued the Sportste! My dealer was asking 4k over MSRP and there it sat forever. HD has HUGE dealership problems. They;re discontinuing their best engine the Evo. Newer engines are junk IMO. i've seen mechanics say same. HD has 60% of US market * theyve got a Leftist woke German leading it astray like Bud Light. They're not listening to their customers anymore than Bud Light is. They got rid of the popular Buell that young ppl liked. The great bikes like yours are gone. HD customes galore are jumping ship & discovering Indian & =buying them instead. HD thinks they're too big to fail. Well, White Star thought that when they built the Titanic. "The ship that God Himself cannot sink" they boasted in newspapers. Leftists ruin everything they touch. Look what Trudeau is doing to Canada,
The bike is a complete dog, can't even keep up with cars on highway, no passenger, drinks gas like a drunkin sailor, damned gas light always on, and if you are taller than 5.3 you have to pay a grand for front controls, my 48 is not much better, no passenger, gas mileage ok, can barely keep up with cars on highway, your buying a name not a good reliable bike.
