Man, that bike sounds good! Always enjoy seeing Chris in his element. The mechanics episodes have gotten increasingly interesting to me, and I really enjoy attempting to learn what I can from them. I also noticed the giveaway Road Glide had some blue and gold additions to it. Lookin snazzy!
Got me excited because just today I got the ball rolling for a stage 2 upgrade on my new 2022 Street Glide ST M8 117ci. Zippers Red Shift 468 cam kit, SE Tune (to not void warranty), TAB slip-ons w/Zombie baffles. Psyched!
Just started following you a couple of days ago and watched your learning to ride videos. Took on an interest to ride within the last monthI left a comment on there thanking you, but just want to say it again. You’re an awesome teacher, and I am happy to announce my basic rider course is next week and I’ll be making my purchase within the next month! Thank you once again for breaking everything down and making it not only easier to understand, but giving confidence while you do! Godspeed friend!
New rider here. Only been riding sport bikes (125 and 250) but I have my eye on the 2022 Lowrider S. Really find your videos informative and fun to watch. Keep up the good work 👏
@@Jsanchez52 most definitely did. I picked it up in October and put about 1k miles in the first month! I have it in the shop now getting a TBR Turnout exhaust, some risers, and a new seat put on! I absolutely love the bike.
Nice bike. Love the sound of the pipes and cam. The fairing and bars aren't my style, so that is the only thing I would do different. The black looks so much better than that primer gray.
Block, let's see some other cams...please please I consistently see the same 4-5 cam swaps. I'd love to see you do a MaxCell 821, CR483 or something from Ward Performance, or T-Man
Man I envy some people. I’d love to go into a 2:1 but don’t want the warranty voided. Would you or Chris be able to elaborate on wether going 2:1 with the Screamin’ Eagle turner will actually void your powertrain warranty or not? I see that S&S makes a 50 state legal 2:1 with the cat built in. If a normal 2:1 would void your warranty would you be ok with the 50 state legal S&S because it has a cat built in leaving the warranty intact? I trust your opinions more than others online and Chris with 25 years experience and being a Master Tech speaks a lot for itself. Thank you 🙏 love the videos as well.
@@njachtschitz yeah could do that but I’d rather play on the side of caution and not mess with it. All it takes is 1 person to plug it in accidentally because they missed the note and your done.
If you have the screamin eagle tuner with it, it shouldnt. Even if your local dealer says yes it would just put the stock back on if you need warranty work.
Most the benefit of stage 2 is the higher rpm near redline. Most people do not go around redlining their Harley. Engines mods are the most expensive mods for the least amount of horsepower. Buy the power from the factory without need of stage 2-4. The Sportster S and Pan American are the most powerful bikes, horsepower/weight, Harley offers. Liquid cooling really helps with horsepower with reliability. Harley needs a touring bike with the sportster S frame(lighter) and offer the Pan America motor. No mods needed. The newer bikes offer RDRS standard(Sportster, PA) which controls wheelie and traction which is needed in higher performance Harley’s.
I mean you can put $3000-$4000 into the motor of an old $4000 used Sportster and put down 120-130hp on the Dyno. But it's definitely going to be a raw experience and a death trap with stock sporty suspension, brakes, no abs, no traction control, etc.
I've heard that the heavy breather elite or whatever ita called that comes stock on the 2022 117ci is very restrictive and can rob 7 to 10 hp. (Don't shoot thr messenger just what I'm hearing in forums.) Maybe thay accounts for the difference in power between the 114 stage 2 and 117 stage 2?
I actually thought it would have been alot higher..The Dyna lowrider s 117 is getting more power with a twin cam motor..People are getting higher numbers with different cams in the 114 M8's so I don't understand why it wasn't alot higher 🤷♂️
Agreed, I've seen 118 hp and 130lbs of torque with a 114ci & 475 cam. I'm running a 114 and 475 cam with bassani pipes and make 110hp and 120lbs of torque only because I have my baffle out.
We had an old victory 96ci make 129whp/120 tq. (I have the actual Dyno Sheet to prove it). Just a cam/intake/tune. Odd to see such low numbers out of this 117.
Just out of curiosity, are you guys able to upgrade the scout motor beyond what was done in the vs video series? I love my scout and would love to slap some more power into it.
H-D and most mfgs measure power at the crank, whereas we’re measuring power at the wheel, after the drivetrain. There’s usually about a 15% loss of power through the drivetrain 👍🏼
I got a weird question for you. 2018 Road King with the M8 of course but I got cheap slip ons from a buddy from his 2011 Streetglide. As you know the size of the exhausts are different. So what effects if any by putting the smaller slip on from a Twin Cam with a reducer to the M8 bigger pipe on the right side? Would it be harmful to the engine, just effect performance or sound? For anyone that will comment and say why I did that.... Because I'm not made of money and that was one of the slip ons I was really interested in and I thought for half the price I could make it work. 🤷♂Just interested to see what some professionals thought.
Anyone in Northern CA that you'd recommend to do this? I just purchased a 2023 Lowrider S with the 117. I come from sport bikes and I love this bike, but it feels like it's holding back a bit.
Another great video. Glad your channel is going awesome. First of all I love the direction of Harley. The Sportster S and Pan America are outstanding. Finally the 117 into a smaller lighter bike, thx Harley. I think Harley has seen what happened in 2008 with the Big 3 moving from fleet sales to world sales. They went Bankrupt trying to catch up as they waited too long. GM in 2008 bailout, Ford 2009 bailout. I have owned 30 bikes, never a Harley almost bought a Fat Bob 2 years ago but bought a Super Duke Instead. Less weight, more horsepower, stability control, traction control, Abs standard. I am over 60. I can not do 800 pound bikes. If the Sportster S was available That may have changed my mind as lighter, more horsepower and standard electronic aids. I raced professional motocross and flat track in the 60-70’s. I still want safety aids as I am not constantly 100% focused at times. RDRS should be standard on all Harley’s not an option on touring bikes. It’s for safety. Ducati, BMW, KTM, offer stability control standard. Stability control mandated 2012 for cars. Euro 5 requires TC. Harley would also benefit with electronic suspension. Look forward to next video.
Have you ever had any issues with this exhaust? I hear alot of bad reviews on them from people who ride hard and also is this exhaust as bas as everyone says for making hp/tq? Compared to others like d&d, stealth, hpi if so are we talking minimal numbers or 20+ hp?
Hi all. What is it like to ride a sprung seat bobber bike compared too, well a `normal` bike. Comfy or raw, distance doable or no way jose. Replies from owners very welcome.
Wwwwwoooowwww that's killer, but I wanna know what we're u guys talking about a rpm limit and a mph limit, will after you guys talk that off the engine will that affect the extended warranty thru HD😂😂😂😂😂 BY THE WAY LIKE TO SEE A VIDEO ABOUT THE SAME THING STAGE 2 B4 AND AFTER WITH A 114..😊😊😊
Quick question to test your dyno knowledge. At what RPM does the HP and torque curves cross each other on any internal combustion engine? One more question. If you guys really want power and speed why don't you just buy a ZX-14 or a Hayabusa and be done with it Instead of taking 14 second bikes and trying to make them fast?
5252... if you have to ask the second question chances are you wont get it. There is a feeling, an emotion, and a specific look achieved by a lowrider S with "club style" performance mods that sensually seduces a primal need to be big, loud and powerful. While there are plenty of scooters that are fast out of the box they don't check a lot of boxes. This bike can double as my street fighting commuter and as my touring traveler. PS it comes with a p...y magnet .
@@shawnmoody34 Guys I'm 57 yo and been riding motorcycles my entire life. I've ridden and owned all different kinds of bikes, I understand that a plastic wrapped in line 4 cylinder from Japan doesn't have the same street presence that a Harley does. I just gotta laugh though when these guys put thousands of dollars into the their Harleys and then pretend they're fast, they're not. I could put my Busa in 2nd gear and not shift and still whip any Harley style v twin type bike. They're cool, they sound good, they're customized to your liking but they're not fast......quit pretending that noise equates to horsepower!
@@markjerstad4664 it’s kind of the difference between a drag car and a track car…two different styles. I can appreciate both. Nobody is under the impression that they are racing hyabusa’s with the exception of you.
Hey Blockhead. What’s your thoughts? I’m looking at getting either a new 22’ low rider S and would need to put a saddlemen 2 up seat and pegs also want at least 2 into 1 pipe and toon. Or I’ve got the option to get a 2020 low rider S with 14,000kms but already has saddlemen, sissy bar, pipes and I could do a stage 4 on it for about the same price as what I need on the 22’ Great video as always. Thoughts?
