Who agreed to knock down the iconic town hall? The water gardens and town centre are completely different now. Business and money is obviously more important than a well planned town centre that was originally intended. Shame on these dark times.
Lived in Old Harlow from ‘70-‘76. Loved it. The kid with the black hair dismounting and going into the bike shop - son of the owner, I’m sure. We were in the Scouts together.
I lived in Harlow in the late 90s for a few years before heading back to London, had a few interesting nights at the Jean Harlow Pub, I'm sure others looking at this video would remember that establishment. Struggling to remember the name of the nightclub near the Market Sq ?
I first visited Harlow in 1979. There used to be a night club in town centre, I can’t remember the name, I think it was Tiffany’s. Also, the council - GLC used to put on music events in the town park during the summer. There were Very few black People living in Harlow back then. Back in the day. Harlow used to housing waiting List for young engaged couples. How forward thinking is that ? I wonder what it’s like now?
a beautiful town once with amazing people.now left to rot and be infilled with plastic house.came here in 57, no roads with chocking traffic. and full of beautiful London people.who all looked after each other.unrecognisable today. such a real shame. now filled with London drop out and immigration.
Back when women wore a head scarf to hold their hair in place, and NOT for religious reasons. Harlow resident from 1969-1993 Its changed so much now and not for the better, £1 shops everywhere.
