Today I spoke with Dr. Justin Sledge of the RU-vid channel Esoterica, which explores "the arcane side of history, philosophy, and religion."
We discussed the Book of Enoch, the influence of the Greco-Roman/Mystery cults on Christianity,
the Essenes, the Gnostics, ancient cosmology/aeons, the Zodiac, angelology, the Archons and Metatron, Jewish mystical visions, Kabbalah, and the overall context of the Jesus Movement and its origins, in a 1st century Jewish perspective.
We also spent some time discussing the Christ-Myth theory, and how likely it was that there was an actual man at the start of Christianity, or whether it was part of the mystical visions mythology, with Jesus being euhemerized later as the Gospels began to be written, based on rewrites of Greek epic works.
