Here in Louisiana, there isn't a wedding reception or party after the event that doesn't play the song. I knew every word literally as a 5-year-old. No joke, EVERY WEDDING I'VE BEEN TO IN THIS STATE, and if anyone else can confirm please do lol.
The chord progression in Strokin' has an interesting similarity to Franklin's Tower by The Grateful Dead. They should have just told the audience to all get their phones out, queue up the video, and play it at the same time. It would be ineffective, but a really funny bit.
I love this bit and it drives me crazy. I think dan nails it when he said it means being sensual. Hes stroking his hips. The stroke motion refers to the pelvis. Lol. You can thrust your pelvis left and right, as you might when trying to satisfy a lady. You can also thrust to or (toward) your lady. The thrusting can be long and fast or short and soft. It's all about a sensual hip motion. At the end the woman is offering her rear end because shes unsatisfied with the lack of sensuality. Hes stroking too fast. It makes perfect sense
How do four different men all misshear the same lyric in the same way? "If my stuff AIN'T tight enough," not "TOO tight." So weird, how did ALL of them miss that?
11:52 "It's in (the back seat of a car), not on" ...What? Of course it's on, he's asking if you've made love ON the seat of a car. As in laying ON TOP of the seats. You're not INSIDE the seats, you're not unzipping the seats and climbing inside with the stuffing and doing it in there, are you? I think he's confusing "the back seat" of a car with "The back" of a car. But the lyric was "on the back seat of a car", it's a completely normal sentence, he means laying on the back seats. Not in the back of a station wagon or a van or something, which I think is what Dan's thinking.
