That's gotta be one of the greatest trotting performances of all time. To blow the start like that, then overtake the field with a sustained run four and five wide, then ease back in the lead and power home at the finish is truly amazing. What an animal.
It's amazing. I love it. I live for it. It's in my blood and I'll relish in its pain. I hate horses and have just disdain for them. I have dedicated my whole life out of spite to one horse. I hate that horse. His names Steve. He's fed and cared for. He's even loved by others.. but I hate him.. Steve... Ya... Hahahaha.. and you can't don't nothing about it.. mwha HA HA! HA!
Pretty pathetic that Mah Sish was found in a kill pen in the United States. Nobody from his past helped him. Omega Horse Rescue stepped up, saved him, rehabbed him, retrained him, and he was adopted this week!
Forcing a horse to reject its natural gait for the pacing gate just looks uncomfortable and wrong -- no wonder they break and gallop. Horses are supposed to walk and run with cattycorner stride, not both legs on same side. Awkward, and potentially cruel?
It would look unnnatural, but actually as babies they pace (or trot) and do whatever the mom does.. despite what you think it it is very natural for them and they could probably race without the hobbles, but it gives them extra security when they have them on but they train without them.
