I regret that I stopped climbing when I was 23, I chased what I thought was stability. Now I’m 58 but love watching this channel almost everyday a vid drops. Y’all are amazing to me.
Climbed in the 90's with a new high tech double belt Bashlin and two rope lanyards only. Had a mission last year and dragged it out to re-acclimate. Took a couple climbs to get my legs back under me but toughed through it and am having a ball with it! This new one should carry me through my last climb and hopefully that's a long way off! Get back in the trees if you're able to. Yeah, it hurts a little more than 30 years ago, but to paraphrase Clint Eastwood "Don't let the old man in!" PS: I found contact lenses are better to climb with than my progressive lens glasses. Seem to eliminate vertigo the glasses encouraged.
It’s well worth any price. I fell 25 feet and landed on my back on top of my climb saw. I was shattered and had to change professions. I spent 15 years in the pipe fitting trade and saw a video about the MB1.0. I was only climbing about 5 trees a year and wasn’t happy with life. I ordered one and two years later I’m climbing full time. Everything they say about these harnesses are true and proven. I’m a living testimony to the MB Harness! It’s worth every penny. Have a blessed week.
I just got my 2.0 a few days ago, I had the og saddle for a little over 5 years. The new version is night and day difference imo. It's sooo much more comfortable and adjustable, it literally feels like I'm sitting in a swing at the park. With the amount of high quality and manufacturing MB offers, I'm surprised it's under a thousand dollars. If you're on the fence of getting one do yourself a BIG favor and get it, this is the best bang for your buck you're going to find in the tree saddle world guaranteed.
Been climbing for 40 years, 35 on the weaver, 6'2" 160 not saying your harness isn't Great but in my experience it's all about listening to your body and eating the right food. Still climbing at 71.
The MB2.0 is the most comfortable, supportive, and ergonomic saddle I've used in nearly 19 years of climbing. Don't forget the side dee measurement when sizing a saddle. Keep innovating, brothers.
What I like about the Monkey Beaver 2.0 is it's versatility, and it seems unlimited compared to the Harness I use.Recently started Shopping at Monkey Beaver, and very happy with what I buy there. I have an issue with my lower Back ,so need all the help I can get . Will get the 2.0,or newer version in near future.Keep up the good work August.
August I would love to hear more about your faith. From what I gather you are a believer in Jesus. I think you should use your platform to share the freedom of Christ. Love you and your content brother! God bless
I wish I coulda got a Monkey Beaver. I’m very happy with my Notch Sentinal but yours looks like the best! Not sure if you remember a few years ago I needed it in a quick time unfortunately and couldn’t wait the extra couple days. I wish the camera man would’ve did a little closer video on the bridge setup because I am a 51 year old newbie to the professional stuff lol. We have 8 acres in the Adirondacks with lots of tall pines and Birches I maintain
Hi August, I am still happy with my 1.0 from 2020. The adjustable bridge I have on the saddle is with a CT ROLLNLOCK, strapped with a decent ziptie on the outside of the rigging plate. The only thing I miss is the self arranging of the storage hooks, 2.0 has way more customizing. Import tax was back then about 2.7% over the vallue and a 19% tax on top of the indicated price on the parcel. Kind regards, Bernard. The Netherlands.
I wouldn't think a zip tie would be an appropriate attachment for your rope bridge. Life support hardware is rated to hold a lot more weight than any ziptie. At least double it up!
@@WoodwitchArbor the CT ROLLNLOCK is at the outside of the bridge. Rope bridge is trough the rigging plate then stopped by the CT , then you have your spare length of rope terminated by a figure 8 knot. The ziptie only makes sure that the CT stays in place next to the rigging plate. No structural demand on it.
Hi August I'm just would like to say thank you very much you made this lovely harnes I'm the first person I Hungary who got one of 1.0. I bought one from UK to my birthday 2weeks ago It's years old but I love it so much because it's protect my heria I hope I will have some money to buy a new one. Thank you again
I’m running a 2019 MB 1.0. I’m 45, 6’3” 200lbs with a bad disc. This harness is awesome. I’m ready for a 2.0. Couple recent days, I was up multi head big pines for 6 hours. The harness wasn’t the part slowing me down. If you don’t have one, get one.
Also running the 2.0 suspenders. I used military surplus LBE suspenders but the MB are comfortable and the device tending points are well designed and easy to use.
@@paulliebeck2640I've ran 3 of the first beavers. I have both suspenders never knew that the buttin clip is also a whistle..I always forget ..could have used it otherday non English speaking help.and I forgot again..😢
I'm 46 with 2 back surgeries.. still climbing, but usually in pain. But that's what we do to support our family.. my question is I'm 5,3 about 155. Would one of yours fit or would we have to special fit something for me...
Bro your missing out...I'm 5ft6 or 7..160 pounds normally but have had liver issues and am more like your weight now . I have 2 beavers and one I gave as gift to freind...best saddle you'll ever buy..don't wait you will regret it . I will be getting the new one soon...JUST ORDER ONE ...Wil fit you great ..you will wear a small but you could wear a medium in winter if you wanted
Is the 2.0 cost worth it over the 1.0? I’m a 205 pound 50 year old non-pro climber who mostly does DRT to help trim and maintain for low income folks in the community.
August, I had an idea for a custom saddle that Evan didn't really think would work but I need a heavy metal spiked harness in my life! Now that I see the new high back, I am glad it hasn't come to fruition yet but please tell me it's a possibility for the destroyer. I have run all the saddles and the MB 2.0 is waaaaaaay better than all of them even the ergo which was designed by a chiropractor. Not even sure if I need the addition support. I personally would rather buy a new saddle later on than have the stiffer foam. I love the 2.0 the way it is!
@@troyerthedestroyer Dude I literally just asked for that. I said I wanted studs, leather, and crossbones. But Evan said it was gonna be too much work! Went with the stock version. Just got it and am in love.
I'm sure stiffer foam is better in general. Of course I have a MB 1.0 and it's fine for a belt. I wouldn't mind trying a higher back but I know I don't need it.
Never skimp ..or try to save MONEY ON YOUR LIFESUPPORT OR SADDLE..😮...its just not worth few more dollars ....and when you get above say 40 or 45 you won't need to be told..comfort and trust..is not a option it's priority.....boots as well
I have New Tribe kids harnesses - worked on my 7yr old. Too bad New Tribe is gone. Rock climbing harnesses don't work very well, or I can say they make me nervous when watching my kids use them.
I hate to get political but, bidenomics is working. People have to charge more to survive and people are afraid to spend money on things that aren’t needs.
