I'm sitting behind a desk all day, and the only time I feel alive is when I'm 50 feet up a tree feeling the sway as the top goes off when I do weekend work. I'm not sure if I'm depressed, burned out or missed my calling, but these are the videos that get me through the week. Thanks buddy. 🙂

Sooooo true! The other day I was doing a clearing job. My “internal voice” told me how to proceed with the removals. The contractor in charge of the excavation wants to “just push over” a huge ash leaning over the neighbors property. It has a split with two leaders so no hinge wood and a very heavy lean. Decided to walk away and have another tree company bring in a crane. Made everyone mad but I need to listen to that “voice” when it speaks to me!
Cutting trees is extremely hazardous and at any moment you could find yourself at the feet of the Lord Jesus. That gut brain; when it’s activated; is like a spiritual barometer.
I get made fun of sometimes for giving God the credit and glory. Thats ok, live by example and walk as Messiah Jesus did, a humble servants heart and the unseen intervention team will always be around to keep us on the path doing the will of our creator... Eventually hearing one day in the future- "Well done good and faithful servant" Thank you August for sharing your testimony faith and hope. Blessings and aloha from West Michigan
You are a top of line Arborist! I’m glad your faith guides and promotes you to be a good human. I respect your faith and I believe there are many other faiths with good humans too. Thanks for this video. Most of us have dark feelings about the future we may face. No matter what happens in our world, many of us can be optimistic because of our faith in God and Jesus. I think of the most eloquent analogy, about the man that was on trial for murder, and upon his conviction and then hearing the judge read out the sentence...... death, quietly a man stood up and stated that he would take the man's place and be executed so that the condemned man could go free, Imagine the feelings that the man had, knowing that someone sacrificed himself to save him. If it were me, I would do anything I could to glorify the man who gave his life for a rotton lowlife like me.
I am not formally religious, partially raised by a father I thought was an Atheist (until his early death), but what I call God, has taught me many lessons (I am 75 now) the hard way......I was blessed with an abundance of Arrogance in the beginning, and little by little I have been humbled by life and its lessons and miracles...........and your talk rings more than true with me...tree work is interesting to me, but the dose of your life experience has much more value...thanks Mr August

After watching my neighbours bargain basement tree loppers who let every cut crash down and damage fences and gardens, I appreciate your good judgement and careful attention. You have a great eye and are considerate in your work.
Nice work August, TIT brother. Your family depends on you. Closest I came to death in a tree was only 2 weeks ago after 20+ years of PNW climbing. An adjacent climber cut through his hinge on too big of a top and dumped it right on me. Remember thinking a single tie-in could have been sheared. In a fraction of a second I picked the correct side of the trunk to be on. Picked right. I often have to explain to HOs that to me, working alone is safer. You probably have that convo from timer to time too. Keep up the great work, you are an inspiration to TONS of us❤

I know there is no good in me save that which comes from Him, and He has done so much good in me and through me over the years, as he has with you. Thanks for keeping it real August! You have always walked with grace and humility whenever you have talked about your faith on the channel and I'm sure that has had some unbelievers pondering. The gospel is the purest form of freedom! By putting our faith in Jesus we don't need to worry about if we are "doing enough" to grow the church. Living in radical freedom and pure unconditional love that can only come through Christ is something that can be seen even when words are hard.

"Depends on how good we are at listening..." ( to the holy Spirit). I identify with you 100%! So many things in my life work out for the good that could easily be seen as near misses. I've told numerous people that I feel so blessed even with the "small things" in life bc God cares about those too! I believe when we make a genuine effort to honor God by the things that we do and the way that we do it, he blesses that effort. Will things happen sometimes? Most likely - but he's bigger than those problems.

When I first started watching your videos in 2015 I was an angry atheist and it was the things I heard you and other men I respect say about god and their faith that softened my heart and bought me to Jesus. It takes a lot of faith to stay in a dangerous profession week after week, year after year. After so many years that faith starts leaking out of everything you do and say. Also great Analogy of the the seed being planted. I may use that in church some day. It is also a true statement in my own life. when the fire comes through - that's when the planted seed grows.

Man you were lucky with that top!! It could have jumped up done a tripe backlift at then blasted off into space...... while taking out the power line and cratering your van!!!! 😁 Seriously, nice job. I also have a finely developed "gut detetector"..... my problem is that, while it is finely developed, my brain likes to go through the motions and spend large amounts of time working out EVERY possible way to mess the project up before allowing me to go for the sensible otion that I had from the beginning. My brains opinion is "but I need to see if there is actually a more fun "(aka epically dangerous)" way to achive the same result"!!!!! 😂
On one hand, it's not possible to glorify God enough. On the other hand, living by example and sharing wisdom is a lot easier for people to receive than confusing words they can't relate to.
You might find it interesting that I bumped into your channel and found it interesting, but being a Christian myself, when I heard little mustard seeds you referenced to acknowledging God made me take interest. Not just for superficial reasons but because when we find people who create content who are also followers of Christ, we know we're unlikely to see someone intentionally or unintentionally subverting our faith. After watching more often for a while due to this revelation, I saw the episode where you used Crowder's "Back to the Garden" as a bed under your video and a) I loved the music and b) I realized that you weren't one of those folks who just makes a superficial passing mention of faith but instead it was actually a part of your life. ' Thank you for being unafraid and genuine and I support you just creating good content and fitting elements of your faith in as appropriate. Well done and keep emulating 1 Thessalonians 4:10-12
God says in Jeremiah 1:5 "before I formed you in the womb,I knew you" Yes my friend...He is always talking to us. It's not luck! And I think we are supposed to give Him the glory on Honor Him before men. But I don't think He wants us to beat our neighbors over the head with the Bible either. But how will they see God's love if we never show it to them? At least to those who might be willing to hear "the good news". There's a fine line for sure. But at the end of it all it will just be ourselves and Him. And then it means nothing who we may have offended. Been awhile but I still love you Brother and I hope you have been Blessed 💯
