This is my favorite Chevy Chase movie because it wasnt just him acting like a maniac. It was very nuanced and the comedic timing was perfect. Mix that with a great supporting cast and a soundtrack by the great Harold Faltermeyer and you have a great 80s movie experience.
I don't think he ever acted like a maniac in any motion picture. He did however in SNL, most especially in the Gerald Ford sketches and quite recently in Community.
Magician David Copperfield used (diggin in) in several of his Tv specials in the 80's I used to watch. Whenever I hear it it brings back warm fuzzy memories of a much better time.
Not sound condescending or disrespectful, which I'm not, yes the shadow looks like a martini glass being held, though, the foreground image shows a different view. The shadow is simply a trick of the light, very deceptive.
im so glad the days of memorable themes from movies are gone. long live Hans Zimmer and all the music i didn't even realize was playing in the background.
My friend keep telling me I'm stuck in the 80's when it comes to my music. I can't help it if so much of the music I like was in some of the best films from the 80's...
Still sad we never got a Fletch / Axel Foley crossover. To see how Chevy Chase and Eddie Murphy, both doing their "con-man" schtick, might have played off of each other, _and_ to hear what Harold Faltermeyer might have done with it... I can't even decide which is the better reason. #whatmighthavebeen
Hadn't seen it in 15-20 years, but I just watched it tonight on the IDH movies channel. What a classic! They had little popup trivia info from time to time, and one that said that this was his favorite character to play. It also said he ad-libbed a lot of the scenes.
I am dying to find out which synth is used for the lead sound in the beginning around 00:20. Do you happen to know or anything close to it? I need that machine!
@@musicmanfelipe Thanks for answering. In the mean time I found out it was a little tweaked preset of a Roland JX-3P. Funny, because I owned one about 20 years ago myself but failed to recognize the sound.
I’ve been looking for this music on YT ever since I found Faltermeyer’s music from “Top Gun” and “Beverly Hills Cop” on my YT homepage not long ago! Thanx for the upload! PS-“Fletch” is a great Faltermeyer score-& one of the funniest films of The Big 80’s! Now if I can find “The Running Man”music on YT-another soundtrack by Faltermeyer!!
Who also feels realy hype when listening to it? And also I Always have to look back when I'm listening to this because I feel like someone is following me LOL
Memories of me watching fletch back in the summer of 1985'' i was just 10 years old that year And i do remember watching this movie throughout the summer we had warner cable at that time And they played this movie constantly on HBO, Showtime And Or Cinamax lol yes im taking it way way back before netflix😊😊😊 Besides all Chevy Chase Movies were hilarious back in the days😂😂😂
Listening to #1 and #4 remind me of Jan Hammer's music from "Miami Vice". How would it have been if Jan Hammer had done "Fletch" and Harold Faltermeyer did "Miami Vice"? :) Verrrry Interrresting :)
Sh*t listen to 1 and 4 almost remind me of a Bollywood/Hindi cinema film from the 80's/90's (the 80's didn't end in 1990 for India LOL, they kept going in a horrible clash of both haha)... Beautiful long haired women with extremely sharp features that are soft and cute at the same time lol... As an American-Indian kid born here, but whose parents were born in another country, ...this stuff always reminds me of being a kid watching a combination of both " Hollywood/Bollywood" movies that were terrible. They only had beautiful women in them LOL
