In this rare clip from the French version of the half hour series HAROLD LLOYD'S WORLD OF COMEDY, "Harold becomes separated from his wife and is thrown down into the engine room and put to work with the stokers". (This quote was taken from "Moving Picture World", a weekly trade magazine of that period.) Enjoy!

I don't know who wrote the score for this series, but he/she/they had genius. It manages to combine period styles with a modern twist - well, modern in the 70s - and enhances the onscreen action with upbeat rhythms and melodic inventiveness, unlike the countless boring (& downright depressing) accompaniments that usually mar the enjoyment of silent films. I wonder who wrote the music?

In the early films Harold was VERY sexy: muscular and insolent/bratty and just young and dishy. Bebe was a lucky girl.

bebe danniels was great in these comedies, but also in heavey roles (usuall as the other woman to gloria swanson or her like) when she went over to paramount in 1919, did good pictures with wallace reid, the biggest star of his day, mostly only remembered now because he died trying to kick his morphine addiction in '23. check out taylorolagy, just google it, a great site, hollywood scandles in silent days.
