Would love to see either the Lloyd Estate or Lobster or somebody do a restoration of all the surviving Lonesome Luke and early glass one reelers the same way they did for the early Chaplin and Keaton shorts. Still nice to see these at all on RU-vid, though.
+metaldams78 Sue lloyd (his granddaughter) mentioned to ben mankiewicz when she was on tcm three years ago, showing her grandfather restored early shorts featuring the glass character. she recently finished restoring twenty five more of his early shorts.
Thanks for the heads-up on Foxy (though I think I saw him for all of 2 seconds). I think he was made Vice-President of the Harold Lloyd Corporation, his sole duty being signing autographs on fan photos (Harold couldn't do it due to his incomplete right hand). Snub Pollard is completely bizarre. He adds a touch of surrealism to Lloyd's films.
If you are logged in, Welcome Danger is on TCM tonight (Aug. 5, 2009) at 9:30 PM EDT. Other than that, neither title is available on DVD that I know of.
Even blurry, even jerky, in a bad print with bad music and everyone plastered in makeup, THAT'S OUR BOY, HAROLD LLOYD, and we. . . *l*o*v*e*. . .H(x)I(x)M(xxxxxxxoooooooooooohhhhhhhYEAH!)
