Nice 🖤 To know what our people went through that grants us with improved access to the world is just priceless. Of course it’s still visibly imbalanced, but definitely better than their experiences. For a lot of our people to live such reckless lives and not be moved to be better because of them just sucks.
Yes, I’m most definitely grateful for my life and freedom. I can’t imagine the hardships and pain that Harriet and all other slaves experienced. It makes my heart heavy to even think about those truths. But the ways that have been paved by all that have come before us, gives me great honor and motivation to indulge in my life and career, be my best and share with the next generations coming up behind me. I’m so very thankful and I hope I make my ancestors proud. R.
Wow! I can't say it any better. The cycle of time is interesting and I can only hope Ive contributed something to better the world for our descendants. Very nice.. Author Glynette Tilley Turner wrote books on stops in Illinois in The Underground Railroad in Illinois. They went as far north as Canada. Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis talks about their settlements in Canada. Thanks for sharing!
Your right! I realized when editing the video I said it went as far north as Hershey, Pennsylvania but I believe I was thinking the tour of the railroad stops. I learned recently that even cities like Cincinnati, Ohio were very important stops. The network of people and resources to free people is very interesting. @@novelworldtravels Yes. I worked at Wheaton College, a Christian college and it was a stop on the underground railroad. A lot of good people both white and black helped our ancestors
