Congratulations on that bag and you have a great partner there! I'm planning on hitting up Harris Lake this year and I too am blessed to have a wife that loves Ripin Lips. She's gonna be my Tournament partner this year and I cant wait.Again thanks for the awesome video.
ok cool thanks, I just thought there was a warm water discharge from all the comments about the power plant. I hope e1 release their future big bass here, what a awesome lake.
wow congratulation on that day will be up there this weekend trying my luck have not been there in a couple of years tried to get up there last year but my buddy and I was in a wreak on highway 40 that morning and did not get to fish do you have any suggestions on what to do I know that that place is ether on or off
Ok cool thank you for answering that I believe you. Also thanks for the reply. One more question, if I was planning my first trip there in spring 2019, what would be the prespawn there since power plant warms water? Also what was the date you caught this awesome bag of fish and what was water temp for that day? Thanks again im excited I want beat my personal best there, which now is 7.5. Is now of this writing too late go catch a big female ?
How is the fishing now 2023 I hear the grass is gone, are the big fish still there I used to fish harris 1988-1996 I live 4 miles from falks so I fish it regulary tuff nothing like back in the day,do u guys still catch big ones, catch & release let's go
It did immediately afterwards and the next year 2018. But low water (working on boat ramps, and less grass made it an off year. But with MLF coming it will probably get crazy again
Back to back weekends. 41.9 lbs then followed it with 46.89 lbs . Caught over 50 first weekend over 20” (bigger than 5). Didn’t have GoPro with us I was devastated thoughts had missed the best fishing day of my life. Wife said “we can do it next weekend sweetie” she had no idea what catching 41.9 lbs was such a feat.. but I filmed the whole day. Trimmed the video down to mostly the ones I weighed in. Edited out the exact technique, lure, color, etc.. we are trying to repeat this year. But it’s slipping out on bait and technique. I will re-edit this spring and put out more footage with less editing. Caught 30 fish on camera over 20” most of the between 6-7 lbs
Shane Burns you are a legend sir. I would be honored to fish with you sometime. Congrats to you and your wife on such amazing days. Once in a lifetime fishing, more than once!
A blessed day for sure....the man was smiling down on ya'll for sure. You must be living right my friend. One of the best day's fishing I have ever saw....congrats!!! My son took me there a couple weeks ago, all we caught was a nap!!!
Nice video. Hey i just heard about this lake im in holly springs. Are these fish not good to eat because they are lake fish? I didnt see you keep any. Also how much is the boat rental at that lake? Thanks
Thanks for noticing our team work. She is my best partner ever. She is Taking time off the water with 2.5 yr old and our baby girl due in a couple of weeks! When she comes back I suspect we will have some more magical days on the water.
Fish are safe to eat on the lake. I personally do not eat the bass. I prefer to preserve them for fishing tournaments. we catch them over and over. There are no boat rentals on the lake
But that hasn’t stopped the local big sticks from busting 34-36 lbs bags in summer afternoon tournaments 5pm to 9 pm. They were busting that size bag every Wednesday all summer
It’s a little off what I heard. I haven’t been this year. I have 2 year old and another on the way ! My hands have been full in 2019 and 2018. Still fishing limited trails probably a little less I. 2020. There have been conflicts with Harris events.
@Mekye Barnes its honestly insane... between guys posting vids like this and the MLF event, Harris has been pillaged over the the last two years. You can still get on em, but the grass has receded so much that the magic is slowly fading here.
Not really, local big sticks on the lake pounded them well into the summer with 3-4 bags over 30 lbs. I personally haven’t fished 2019 or 2020 out there yet. But I know the big sticks have crushed them.
Same day. It was early March, started off cold in the morning warmed up a little then the wind picked up. The whole 8 hour day was videoed minus about 30 minutes where I cut off the camera to save SD card space, then I caught the 10.38 . After that I didn’t turn it off till we were back at the dock. I edited the video to capture the five that I weighed in, and a few more, but I didn’t think people would sit through the hours of me jacking bigguns .
There was an article done about this and he said he was using a spinnerbait from Dave's tackle in Durham North Carolina they were in 16 ft of water I marked them on my side view Imaging and down scan! He had some awesome days on the water and wish I knew what he was using he was even catch him in the snow last year
@@beardedbassmaster3091 haha you wouldnt expect him to tell everybody what he was using would ya! But whose to say he wasnt using a big 1 oz spinnerbait slow rolling.. daves tournament tackle definitely makes them big boy spinnerbaits
