I actually had an opportunity to "meet " him at a restaurant. He was finishing eating and i was in line. As he noticed i recognized him, he says, "a picture would last longer" i replied, "i'm not going to interrupt your meal" . He saluted approvingly and i continued on. He's mostly gruff to keep the crazies away

Dick Diamond That’s great that you got to meet him. Yeah some celebrities enjoy meeting fans & some really dread it because they don’t want to be bothered. Harrison strikes me as the latter. But I can totally understand that. Especially when ppl want to talk your ear off or pressure you to sign a dozen autographs.

Harrison Ford is a legend, one of my all time favorite actors, his interviews are a treat, he’s got that movie star vibe, always entertaining 😃 Loved his work in Star Wars as Han Solo, Indiana Jones and of course Rick Deckard in Blade Runner, he was really good in Call of the Wild too, an absolute Hollywood legend and icon, still making amazing movies 👏👏👏 🌟

It just goes to show how different Harrison's acting life is compared to others. He was a man, had kids of his own, by the time he became a household name. He had done real work, and had known the struggle longer than most. His life is a great story because he didn't stick with it. He hung it up and became a carpenter and was pulled back into it. He still seems like that carpenter that's being pulled into these jobs.

I actually purchased a 10 ft. Indiana Jones-style bullwhip from David Morgan (the length usually carried as part of the Indy costume). I also purchased the famous Indy fedora based on the style worn for "Last Crusade" (my fave Indy movie) by the actual makers of the hats used in all Indy Jones movies ("Herbert Johnson" of London, England).

One interesting thing most ppl, and probably even many HF fans don't even know is that George Lukas's "real" breakthrough film was the 1973 film "American Graffiti", with Ron Howard and Richard Dreyfus, (among others), and George hired Harrison, who was a construction carpenter at the time, and just a common working stiff, to play the bad boy villain with the fast black car to go against Paul Lamat, the (also bad boy), but with a good heart that he races at the end. The relationship between George and Harrison from that movie is probably why Harrison was in Star Wars 4 yrs later, "and" the success of that movie, and the nostalgia they discovered the public had for the 50s and early 60s, (In the early 70s), is what spawned the show "Happy Days" a year or so later, and then Lavern & Shirley, 2 years after that.
