Installing the Harrop truetrac into the Holden 10 bolt salisbury diff to tuffen it up to handle more grunt and dyno day for the 308. The 308 punched out a solid 287rwhp through the th400. @HarropTV www.harrop.com.au/truetrac-ho...
I’ve got a similar engine setup in my HZ sedan, VL 304, VN heads, Crow 4626 solid lifter cam, Harrop dual plane manifold, Yella Terra Roller Rockers, Quadrajet. Your video has convinced me to buy a Truetrac and have the confidence to fit it myself. Thanks so much.
Yeah they definitely do, the next weekest point is probably the axles after that. One tonner axles are thicker and stronger than the ute and sedan axles but you can also buy aftermarket. One tonners have the largest yoke for them if you want bigger unis fitted.
@@MCFRYMotorsport I have a 1 tonner tail shaft I think which has the bigger uni joint diameter so that seems right, seems like a decent upgrade for the money really. Cheers
Harrop also does a 31 spline centre for the Salisbury. With new aftermarket axles and the one tonner flange it makes a very strong diff. i had mine done a couple of years ago
@julesat29 It would be interesting to see what power levels they would hold with 31 spline axles, I have seen covers for the rear of the Salisbury that can support the caps also but cant seem to find any when I search.
Hey bro i rember how to ajust your backlash its been years since i played wiht these old girls but undo your tailsharft then you see the big nut on the frount off the diff tighten it up and it will pull the gear into the other gear an tighten up your backlash thers a spacer that is collapsable so dont over tighten it wont spring black i had to weld a tool up to hold it while i tighten it
400hp if u want it to live , axle housing and axles then become an issue . The elephant in the room is the crown wheel pinion gear set availability. As u have noticed its not a USA 12bolt or 9 inch [both these suffer from shit wheel bearings ] Use crewman [large] , hq [small] axle bearings , BOP Buick Olds Pontiac bearings ,,,, all have tapered rollers that work
This is a pretty sloppy install, im confident they are meshing correctly, but the centre is too tight. Its just going to put extra load on the bearings and take more hp to turn. If I had some diffs laying around I would have tried a few different shims.
@@MCFRYMotorsport true, the hard part is done, could just rock up to a diff shop and say i added trutrack can you reshim the pinion, probably be cheap af..
@4kays If the mesh is out they generally whine, the bearings could get hot on the carrier and prematurely wear being this tight but ill take the risk on that.
@@MCFRYMotorsport how is your center going? I just installed mine today. I haven’t driven it yet but with the o.g shims that came out it was tight as fuc$ to get in there. Mine can’t be turned by hand but I’d say that will change once I drive it. The mesh feels great though pretty much how it was when the old center came out.
@@MCFRYMotorsport am all for the duggas but with red loctite. Guaranteed not to come loose. Great channel bro. Missed your rig at scummernats this year
Great upgrade mate, won’t have any issues with the tru-track, fitted one to my FG turbo Ute, AU XR8 and the old XD as well, no issues, smoke for days out of all 3!!! 😂😂😂
