Mr Harry Belafonte,I OWE You,aLOT.May I PRAY to the LORD,HE gives me a chance to meet you personally. You taught me to "FEEL"through your songs.Spirits "arose".Love you Mr Bellafonte.
I actually met Harry Belafonte at the St Jude Church/Hospital at Montgomery AL, in 2012. Me, my mom, and my sister went to see him. I saw him standing in the middle of a crowd on the Church grounds and I nervously walked up to him and said that I was a big fan of his. He even took a picture with me and my sister! We went inside the Church for a ceremony and after the service, he called me over and introduced me to his wife! My grandpa, who was also there, gave me his "Best of Harry Belafonte" CD for him to sign. AND HE SIGNED IT!!! He wrote: "Peace, Harry Belafonte". He was very humble and very nice and I'm very glad and grateful that I ever met him in person!
My only regret is I came to appreciate this man late. Better late than never. Harry Belanfonte you are a truly great humanitarian and beautiful entertainer thank you so much 🙏🙏🙏
My uncle is the guitar player that opens the concert. His name is José Neto, and was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Today he plays with Steve Winwood and also has a solo band called NetoBand. Please support his work and passion for good world music! Love the music, love the world!
I didn't know this concert "live in Zimbabwe", though I knew most of the songs featured there. What makes this event outstanding is the faith and mood of the audience, how it takes part to the rythm and the songs. It relates to common colonization and oppression. very impressive !
There is so much that he has said. I did not that he was that he said that you have tp look in side the words the caribean rythem is he is saying when he sung about the banaba it took me time understand and when he said it was about his family. You can buy hapiness my frind that. I met in. Birminham. England tjat was there going college to become a. Nurse and we went to tje movie there and the first time. I heard ragae music. Is his real name is. Henry. Iwould like to see in person. I sais that once. I speak to you. I am all wayse speaking to you that is why. I would speak to unseen that is why. I would have not have to comfirm it the heartbeat confirm in his heart when. I read the bible where it said unseen. I wrote an seen
Thank you Mr. Belafonte for years of superlative entertainment but mostly for the "nourishment" of the soul you provide- you set an example that skin colour should not matter and your generosity is admirable and should serve as an example- every person counts and every hand can reach for another hand and hold it. My mom just died age 98, her favorite man wasn't my father- he was the opposite of Harry, cruel, abusive etc. Her favorite album of Harry's was, Love is a Gentle Thing, I played it the morning after and cried...A strange Christmas- a time of year mom disliked because her family was far away- I wish to thank with love my mom for how strong she was and Harry for my one of the seeds that grew into my garden of music- stupid awkward metaphor but on this day, the 1st day of 2022 I am brain fogged by a covid booster too, so pardon me, and listen to EVERYTHING THIS MAN RECORDED- music is the universal language- Namaste
A most beautiful man expressing truth in a most generous way..... without recrimination or grievances and yet without apologies or a coddling of the worlds insensitivity and barbarism. It´s hard to believe that such a one as He existed in his time while the Anglo-Saxon world loved him without really understanding the truth that he shared so lovingly; Had they, their world would have changed much sooner to exalt each and everyone. Thank you sir.
I complètent agree with You @mtofas 👻 The people applaused thé beautiful Singer hé was BUT didn't UNDERSTAND his message ..." Love each other whatever white or black ...don't bee crual or agressive with Your brother ...DON'T GIVE UP 🙏🙏
His songs glow with light and inspiration; this amazing man brings out the best in us! He's a great teacher: an ambassador of faith, love & world peace.. Thank you, Mr. Belafonte! GOD BLESS YOU!!
I love loveeeeee this whole collection . Growing up , my town tv station played this whole concert every single day . Kwela became my song to dance to . Amazing amazing !!! Everyone single person was utterly amazing
Reminiscence of the unforgettable forefathers through their 'toils and sweats' for the next generations not to destroy what had been built with God's blessings.
Harry Belafonte, like, his good friend, Sidney Poitier, is the best of the best...Two of the most impactful, important and iconic figures, in American film history...Poitier is a brilliant actor and director, and, Belafonte is a brilliant singer and actor...Thank you, Harry and Sidney.
I loved Harry Belafonte's music since a very young age, due that my dad was an ardent fan of this great Humanitarian, I clearly remembered how my dad sang Harry's songs amongst his friends and us at home, we being amazed and astounded. Mr. Belafonte you're a #legend and a world changer. You're appreciated, Locke you sir.
very nice concert, harry with his gifted voice and showmanship, the back up bands (singers and musicians) are great too. thanks for sharing this video.
I love this Concert ! Mr. Belafonte was a famous artist ! My mother love him as artist. So I saw his show with my mother in Oct. 1988 in Cologne. Today I m so happy to see him live !
My all time favorite. I was so lucky to meet him by chance in 1979 while in the airport in Helsinki. What a charming gentleman. I heard his first record when I was 10 and that was in Rhodesia which is now Zimbabwe. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Wow! We went to his concert in Helsinki, in 1979! I was 11 and my sister was 9. His music was always playing in our home and we girls learned his songs by heart even before we knew English. Harry is our assistant Dad
Such beautiful brilliant incredible vibes..he was so so spiritual in every way he espress to say something or talk about his life or his county..or more...
He and Sharon Brooks painted all the colours and temperatures of physical intimacy in "Skin to Skin." Loved how they willingly exchanged roles of fire and ice between them. Trading controls so gently.
Been following this legend since 1954- I was thirteen years old.G-d bless him .He turned ninety on March 1st - hard to believe.First saw him at the OKeefe Center in 1960 - Toronto.
Dank je Harry Belafonte, you have been a bridge. With you're loverly songs. Sinds when i was young. Groeten uit Amsterdam Oost. Hope to see you . . . . . here !
