actually that gave england a chance ,if not for that drooped catches eng would have demolished ! Root played a poor shot there get the incoming ball into his stumps by trying to access thirdman slips ! he missed a huge score there
If that was a rule, there would be so much controversy. How do you decide if the fielder is “trying to catch the ball” Also that would make fielding pretty easy and catching the ball literally pointless.
@@ankgamer7959 HAHAHA You thought I was serious. Im just making a few silly suggested rule changes to test match cricket. England have been doing it, so why not.
@@ankgamer7959 An interesting point and as a person who's had involvement in both cricket and baseball there is a way. In baseball it is defined in the Rules that state if "reasonable effort" is made by the fielder then an error will not be scored and otherwise the batted ball goes as a base hit to the offence. Does not mean anything to cricket but it becomes relevant to unearned or earned runs being attributed to the pitcher and hence their Earned Run Average. (ERA). The decision for error or not is made by agreement with scorers plus an adjudicating person.
Highlights isn't just all about boundaries wicket... I appreciate that you are showing catch drops but replays of catch drops, close calls (edges), and even moments like that straight shot of ben almost crashing into crawley will make things more interesting ❤
That ball from Starc that got Stokes was simply his stock ball...inswinger to right hander. Still a great ball. Always a treat to watch him bowl. Such a beautiful action even in the twilight of his career.
Starc had his teammates cooing with joy with that delivery. Spectacular! Also, some beautiful shots by Uzzie Khawaja today, bat for time tomorrow while keeping the runs ticking and that should help conclude a beautiful English summer!
@@danielkelly4487 TBH you are wrong. He tried to flick it to leg, but the ball nipped away and took off stump. If the ball didn't move, Stokes would have hit it to the boundary.
@@BatMan-oe2gh definitely not wrong would of bowled that excact ball thousands of times before . Stokes tried to play it through leg instead of straight just played around it pretty clear to see it done a bit but not much at all
@@danielkelly4487 Playing around the ball means you have been beaten on the inside edge. Missing it on the outside is either playing down the wrong line, or playing the right line and the ball moves away. It only has to move 1 degree and that can be enough. And as an opening batter myself, I have been done like that, ball pitched on middle, and I went to flick it down leg and it moved away and hit my off stump. Kudos to the bowler.
@@danielkelly4487 Oh, just watching Stokes reaction showed it did enough to beat him. If he had just played around it, he would have been angry with himself, but he wasn't as he knew he got beaten by a good ball.
The art of batting longer is not there amount the top order batsmen. How can Woakes have? I think he can bat at number three. He is such a good allrounder but underrated.
That's a humdinger from the pace arsenal of Starc. Stokes left absolutely stunned with that swinging fireball of a delivery that rushed in with rocket velocity 😮
Big tournament is coming. And Starc getting his form and pace back. When a big tournament came Starc always gets his form back🔥 a true international player right now who play only for his Nation. Not for money in Francaise League.
Have you seen Smith's catch ,it was a hell of catch and if any other player was there shouldn't attempted that , marsh warner ,carey catches were easy and if taken eng were bundled by 200
I just can't see Jimmy getting 700 at this point. Even in English-favored conditions, he isn't troubling the batsmen at all. I think he's finally done, fellas. What a career though.
@@suironaldo8971 This is the problem of every biased fans, if a bowler is not getting a wicket for few matches then either he should retire or be dropped. Every time a bowler cannot come and take wickets during 2021-2022 phase same thing happened with broad but now see, he is the highest wicket taker for england in few series, we should believe in him, he is the highest wicket taker for england show some respect
@adityamishra7277 Be reasonable, nobody at the age of 41 can keep going like they did in their prime. James Anderson is in remarkable shape and fitness for his age but at some point the body just can't keep up.
Lucky, but what a class innings by Harry Brook. Shots were textbook lessons. And Starc was spectacular. Don't remember Australia dropping so many catches in an innings
Headline should be Starc, not Brook. Getting all out on first day, the accolade should be given to bowling side. What they didn't mention is that Harry brook hits 85 but Eng all out 283 on day one
Brook has played really well(85 runs) in a tough situation and is very talented player. But he deserved his century, still he has tried his best. 👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥
Not really he got extremely lucky edged over 5 timee and went through the slips, fell in a gap or short. Carey dropped easiest catch of his life when he was on 4. He rode his luck but didn't deserve 100
exactly, I am seeing Broad throwing away his wicket every innings trying to hit big, when he is a good enough batsman to hold a innings. England could have won Lords if not for Bazball approach. Even Brooks threw his wicket going for shots when he needed stability, see how Australia played despite being having the upper hand.
Hats off to England they are playing Test match like one day match even though wickets are falling continuously on the other end. It's a treat to watch test match in England.!!
England's bowling seems to be a bit sloppy today. On the previous test, they didn't give Australia to have advantages. Its evident that failing to win the 4th test due to rain 🌧 really hit hard on their mindset and mentality.
@@abhishekpatidar9283yeah he won't perform against spin as we have seen it in ipl but the guy the is performing really well in ashes which is more important that indian tour..against starc and this pitch is not like other venues..so we should appreciate it
Bairstow again 😂 Love how everyone suddenly had his back when he smashed 99 when they were 200 ahead against exhausted bowlers, and low and behold, when it actually matters, he makes the grand total of 4. Dropped a catch yet again.
@@Jam43341 pope averages 30 no real loss . Moeen is a trundle bowler at best no real loss . You can’t count jofra he hasn’t played in years even then he averages 32 with the ball no real loss . Lyon has been a massive loss for Australia and this is a long tour for Australia playing one more test again India so if anyone is fatigued it’s aussies
@@Jam43341 It's the Ashes. International sport. If you're tired, then rest/risk being dropped. There's plenty of guys waiting for your spot. These people are paid the big bucks to represent their country.
@@DavidManifieldagreed its a bullshit decision and a weak decision to play him over Josh tounge Stokes is delusional calling him the best fast bowler and england deserve to lose due to putting sentimental above logic and form it was a weak and cowardly and igborant and delusional decision to pick him
@@videoplanet9449 no one was struggling 😂😂 anyone could of squad on the roads in Pakistan and nz didn’t have 1 bowler in there attack in the top 10 rankings
Starc's stock ball to a RHB proved a cracker to Stokes. Probably the last time we will see that beautiful lefty action in England. From side-on it is even more pure to watch.
Australia has had a veritable procession of great lefties since WW2. The first bowled both medium fast and orthodox spin. There is no reason why this will not continue. Mitch does have the advantage of his height.
Ouch. Another bazball disaster. Managing to turn a strong position into a average score at best. Probably be talking about how they are the better team though
@@lukebodily83 you still don’t hold the ashes. Won’t for quite some time. Funny part is you lot are super happy for just a draw we are disappointed by the draw. Really tells where the top teams are. Ones the side show the other the main event.
@@RabsDA didn't pay off when it was needed most, bazball and everything about it is an excuse to go out there and hack the ball because Eng can't play your standard test cricket
Crawley has a hell of a Height.. Reminds me Of Harmison.. No way the body shape is there like Him But just the height. Love the way Brook is batting and Giving the charge to Starc.. BAZBALL strategy is Lacking with the Area of Calmness.. And we certainly have wood..
