If any pundit was positive about the last two games, they should be fired immediately. Honesty is what matters most. England were dismal. Saying otherwise would be utterly disingenuous.

Gary Lineker did not heavily criticise Kane at all. If anything he was complimentary about him and said that he’d like to see you further up the pitch pressing. I didn’t see what Lineker was saying as being derogatory to Kane or the England team. The journalist here really is stirring the pot and it is typical lazy journalism from the English media.

That reporter is embarrassing, Gary was very complimentary to Harry in his podcast but just gave insight into what he would do in that position to benefit the team, which is his job. It sounds like the reporter has some sort of agenda against Lineker with the "should stay to flogging crisps" comment. He's achieved more in his career than that reporter could in their dreams.

Lineker was also very complimentary about Harry in his analysis if you actually listen to the whole conversation instead of just using typical sloppy journalistic tactics of taking snippets of words spoken without full context. What Gary said is no different to what anyone else has said or is thinking so this is clearly just a lazy targeted attack on him because it makes a cheap headline.

Lots of England fans have spent thousands of pounds to watch England. So far, they haven't played as a team. For a country with over 70 million people and football being the national sport, this is poor.

He and Southgate give the impression that form can be turned on like a tap. If they can't identify exactly why they played so badly in first 2 games, how can they fix it ?

The players and staff seem completely unaware of how awful they were. Yes, Denmark are decent, and a point isn't a bad result - but they've not got a prayer if they actually can't manage 5 yard passes and the lone striker, not known for pace, is receiving the ball 50 yards from goal with no back up. I can't believe that team, with all the talent it has, can play that badly. It is astonishing. This is compounded when you realise that none of them think this is a problem... like we've appointed the only people in the world who are wrong to the job.

Harry Kane has been overrated since 2018. Micheal Owen was the last English striker that we could be proud off, somone that put fear in opposition team . When we were playing Brazil in 2002 QF Owen goes and grabs a solo goal out of nothing. When has Kane ever turned up for England , bang in a hat-rick against Andorra missing against Croatia . Might have been a loaded question but regardless, Harry’s answer was diplomatic, respectful and considerate of the younger lads in the team who might not be as thick skinned as the likes of Lineker and Shearer who haven’t won an International tournament either. Spoken like a true Captain.

Kane comments on Lineker shows how much maturity kane has and that Lineker should remember his performances weren't always great and that he never won anything with England and that if England win this tournament his opinion which doesn't really matter will change and he will probably come out and say that this is the best England team there has been since 66.

Kane is totally wrong. If this is the Captains mentality then England are totally doomed... The issue is not that England have 4 points and WILL qualify from the group.. and so they should with this squad of players. The issue is the levels they are at and the style of play, tactics and team selection which is driven by the manager. England are way below the levels of the other top teams and won't just be able to 'switch it on' as the tournament progresses. Southgate is too negative and does not play correct formations... this has been proven over many years & tournaments not just this one. England have/had such an excellent chance here with the pool of players they have but will get nowhere with this coach and his negative selections & tactics. Start by playing players in their correct positions, have the balls to drop players who don't fit in (don't shoehorn them in) and have the courage to play the players who ended the Premiership season in flying form. Southgate talking up and lamenting on players who are injured and players who have not been involved with England for years undermines the players currently in those positions and sends out negative and totally wrong messages to everyone. England need a new, more positive progrressive manager to get the best out of this squad which should be achieving a lot more.

Other countries’ camps is like military camp. In England, comfortability and wellbeing of players = priority. Well, competent nations have difficult training regimes and full commitment and maximum tournament outcome is prioritized.

The fact he can't run in behind in the current system is a huge issue, perhaps 4-4-2 would help him he could be the new Teddy with Watkins. Take Trippier out, go 3 at the back, and put Gordon in. Gordon and Trent as wingbacks, Rice and Bellingham in the middle, Saka, Kane and Foden up front with a high press.

Context is key, the only press that is important is the press on the pitch. Can we actually bloody press though? Gary said, they weren't pressing too, and they aren't. Get 15 yards up the frigging pitch and bloody press!

People throwing verbal criticisms on Southgate for being incompetent in his selection of players. I also want to point out Harry Kane himself should take some responsibility. As a captain, he should also think of a bigger picture and for the team. If he knows he is not capable of playing high level/adding value for full 90 minutes, he should immediately volunteer or suggest himself to be substituted when the game needs some fresh attacking legs. Why leave everything for the manager decide ? Him as an England captain also has some say, not just wearing an armband.

Linekar didn't say much wrong tbh. Kane is correct what he says and was professional. Pundits who are slagging off the current squad are correct in what they say to a point. However, as Harry says, we've not won anything of any significance in nearly 60 years. A lot of these pundits have been in squads that have underperformed and not even qualiified for tournaments.

Two sides here. Both credited individuals. Goals change games. Both also know that. Both have struggled to at respective times in a England shirt. Harrys current plight is in part not all his fault but as a 9 we need him to pull up.
