Last Euros Italy did great in their first game, won about 3-0 and played a performance that made everyone think wow this lot could win it. And they did. They were consistantly the best performers, probably because other teams feared them from the word go.

Makes me laugh that every pundit and news article I read all have different ideas on what England should do and who should play. This means 2 things England have a lot of issues to do with structure of play and lineup also that the managers job isn't so easy so wind your necks in. Southgate plays to not lose, rather than to win. I’m not a fan of this approach, but his record has been decent, and maybe his time is coming to an end. We have a great draw and we are seeing more of our technical players introduced. Like Lampard and Gerrard, maybe Foden and Bellingham can't play to their potential in the same team. Bellingham needs to stop believing all the hype about himself and just concentrate on playing simple football. I've said this during the last couple of international tournaments and I'll say it again during this one - *I hope England don't win the tournament playing **_this_** style of football.* If we do, it'll set a precedent that this type of football 'works', and is 'successful' at winning tournaments. Personally I'd rather see us play exciting football and fall heroically at the last hurdle, than play _the worlds most boring_ brand of football and grind out results to win it. It would feel really bittersweet if we lifted the trophy after boring our way through the whole tournament.
