Walkthrough of the recently concluded HP2 PC Extended Mod, showcasing most of the changes introduced. The majority of these changes are custom and they probably don't represent the original developers' vision.
NOTE: Some things in the current mod version may differ from what is shown in the video.

This mod requires the latest version of the "Metallicafan212's Harry Potter 2 Engine & Editor" to run. Gameplay was recorded at 1920x1080 resolution, borderless fullscreen, DX9 Renderer, and VSync enabled (60 fps).
The M212 HP2 Engine/Editor not only ships with a fully-fledged editor for the game, but provides support for DirectX 11 rendering, 64-bit, (ultra) widescreen resolutions, borderless window, horizontal+ FOV, uncapped framerate, X360 controller, and more. The New Engine/Editor will keep your game's language.
The Extended Mod is fully localized in the following languages: English UK (INT) and USA, Danish, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal), and Spanish. Text translations available in Polish, Russian and Ukrainian.

Timestamps of the changes: Part A 00:18 - New sequence fleshing out Lockhart's criminal mind; also Lockhart holds a wand now 02:16 - Added some Flubberworm mucus and Wiggentree bark around the level (also at 4:30) 02:34 - Reduced the ectoplasm collision box 03:14 - Removed the Flipendo symbol from the falling rocks 03:39 - Silver Wizard Card "Andros The Invincible" has been moved from the secret area in Entry Hall (see Part 1) to this chest 04:35 - Added a mixing cauldron (mostly to make amends for disabling vendors at nighttime) 04:47 - Fixed the incorrect lighting and missing texture on the closing blast door Part B 08:17 - Addressed the missing secret (the marker triggers when Harry gets closer with Lumos on) 08:27 - Added some Flubberworm mucus and Wiggentree bark around the level (also at 08:57 and 09:21) 08:51 - Harry faces automatically the correct direction 10:42 - Removed the Flipendo symbol from the boulder 11:10 - The boulder's speed is now much faster Part C 11:53 - Massive changes in lighting, snake heads are larger, pits are filled with water, circular apertures for the light, and Slytherin's face statue is aligned to the centre of the room 11:54 - Fireballs have been removed because I've always thought they never really fitted. Sorry fire-spitting-snake-head lovers, this mod isn't for you! 12:10 - Even number of Wiggentree barks (2 instead of 1) 12:39 - The lighting on the seal door has been corrected 12:41 - Added stalactites on the Chamber ceiling 14:05 - Sunlight pours from the manhole when Fawkes flies in 14:40 - The Basilisk has a new texture 15:05 - The Basilisk's eyes are gauged after Fawkes intervention 15:13 - The Basilisk's health bar icon is now green 15:17 - The sword's fireball emits a fiery glow now 15:43 - The unabridged boss battle music now plays 16:45 - Tom Riddle finally opens his speechless mouth as intended 16:50 - The amazing fire eruption has been replaced with a somewhat amazing water eruption, because physics I guess

I don't get one thing: all the changes of the game you made yourself like design of the chamber, location of the cards and the new dialogues or it was made by game creators themselves?

@@teymurkazimov2193 everything included in the mod is custom and not representative of the developers' vision. I used some unused assets and voice lines from other games, but this isn't a restoration project.

11:54 Now THAT looks like the Chamber of Secrets! I remember reaching it in the vanilla version as a kid and thinking, "Huh? Well this is underwhelming..."

I'm glad that the fire was replaced with water; makes more sense and Slytherin's element is in fact water.

Snake, water, and green. Definitely a room made by a Slytherin. As the movies and games went on, the colors faded, and the Chamber became dull and gray.

This is absolutely amazing, I love this so much! 15:43 - "The unabridged boss battle music now plays" is my favourite change, I always wondered, why they chose to shorten it. Its so epic! Thank you for your amazing work!

One added thought: with all these additional potions and such maybe the Basilisk should get a bit more healthpoints and damage, if thats possible? The fight felt "hard" as a kid and it would be nice, if there could be a little more challenge to it. But probably you already thought about that and dropped it for some reason, than nevermind. ^^

Me gustó mucho como quedó el escenario final. Siempre me sacó de la inmersión que las cabezas de serpiente sean muy pequeñas y escupan fuego, la ambientación azulada de la cámara y el basilisco morado por algún motivo. 11:54 Ahora con las serpientes mas grandes y que sean simples estatuas,las ambientación verdosa, la cámara mas oscura y las nuevas texturas verdes del basilisco hacen mucho mas fiel este nivel. Es una mejora considerable. 14:44 es que en serio,el basilisco se ve hermoso con esas texturas verdes Muchas felicidades por arreglar esto y muchas gracias por este mod.

The last one was in the room at 8:27 but disabled. I personally think the solution I offered makes more sense, as you unlock both rooms at the same time

тайная комната преобразилась стала прям как из фильма! оч круто. и огонь из статуй мне тоже всегда казался инородным. однако все равно не хватает какогото небольшого препятствия. уж или объективно или изза ностальгии не знаю. василиск внушает страх, а не просто мультяшная фиолетовая ящерка-переросток стопкадр из катсцены побежденного василиска хоть на рабочий стол ставь - очень красиво но что с губами джинни??

Awesome changes :D. One question though (as it's a bit lore breaking in original game): Would you consider replacing spiders in Chmaber with other enemies (and spider webs with i.e. plants)? The lore (and it's a bit of a plot point) states that spiders flee from the Basilisk... few of them being in Chamber always rubbed me wrong way.

Honestly, the spiders don't even do anything in Chamber, so they could be removed completely. And the spider webs - those are okay, I mean they could be from back before Basilisk was awakened.

@@SBerTtube well, the game also has those vines, which are also effected by the same Difindo spell. So nothing would be lost with that replacement.

Does the dev for this mod have any plans to fix Aragog's eyes on his texture so they better match their description in the book? Also, are there currently any mods that freezes the timers in the spell challenges?

Most new lines are extracted from the console games, which are notoriously lower qualiy. It's either that or nothing at all.
