It's the best one. My friend told me this one is exactly like the one at Universal Studios Japan. I've been to the one in Orlando and it's the same as this. I'm talking the whole there park, not just this ride.
I legit believe this is the best ride (with Spider-Man as a close second) I had hopes that the avatar one or the escape from gringotts had potential to be better than this but they honestly were kind of a let down for me.
For anyone who has ride anxiety: I have pretty intense ride anxiety and I was stressed before the ride, but had a very fun time after all!!! It is not intense at all. You are taken in front of different screens for a simulated experience. The seats do move, but no drops (even if they say so on the warning sign before the ride which is weird) and no upside down shenanigans. I had so much fun that I went back on as soon as it was over. Don't miss out on this very fun ride because of your anxiety like I almost did. Hop on and enjoy! If little kids can do it you can do it ❤️
I was not prepared for how intense this ride is, holy crap. I've never seen animatronics that are that close to you on a ride before. This ride was insane
This was the best ride I ever went too. It felt like I was in a different world for a couple of minutes. The first person pov is way more intense than through a screen trust me!
For anyone scared, this was my first actual intense ride and I loved it so much! I have always been scared of rides and I cant even go on carnival rides but this one was soooo fun! I went on it twice and If given the chance i would go on it over and over again! Don’t be scared of this ride!!
the dementor scene may just be one of my favorite sections of any dark ride that's ever been made. Something about how dang close they get and how truly unsettling they are just strikes me in a different way than basically any other scene from any other dark ride that I have ridden (which is just about all of them lol). At the very least, that is definitely the most scary scene from any dark ride that I can think of.
Rode that ride for the first time 2 days ago. It was truly unsettling. I was geniuinely scared to put out my hands due to how close the animatronics were. LIke the tree.
The dementors, the spiders, and the whomping willow all scared me so much😭 those screams were not the fun type lol but overall great ride would get on again and face the terror😅
I did this few years ago as my first real "ride", for someone who used to be terrified of them (im talking fainting and throwing up terrified), you can go to this with closed eyes! The ride feels so immersive with the 1st pov that you get actually invested in the story and kind of forget about being afraid.
The thought and attention that went into this ride. Disney is shaking in their pants. Rightfully so. Universal nailed this one. What an amazing ride…and I’m not even into Harry Potter!!
first time going on the ride and i was screaming so much it’s more intense than you think, it genuinely feels like you’re flying and twisting and turning as if the chair your sitting in is moving by itself it’s not just a cart you sit in like transformers or spiderman( like i thought) so if you think it’s just a virtual ride it’s defo not. Nevertheless it’s very impressive and well done, i’m just scared of rollercoasters and wanted off immediately
This ride was very immersive, when it comes to the set design and all of that it’s absolutely 10/10 BUT it made us SO NAUSEOUS we almost puked while on it. It literally took me an hour to start feeling better after we left. None of the other rides had that effect on me. I can’t believe no one in the comment has mentioned that before. I would never do it again even though I’m a huge HP fan and everything was so beautiful 😢
the castle was amazing but the ride gave me incredible motion sickness, ive never experienced prolonged motion sickness like that, i had to go back to my room and take a nap, my wife was fine and thought the ride was great though
I had the same experience. I was screaming from fear and from intense motion sickness. Everyone around me was happy but I thought I was dying. It was that crazy
Same! I've never been so close to vomiting on a ride. It took all of my willpower to keep it down from the moment the ride started. And I had to sit on the ground feeling AWFUL for at least an hour before I could get up. How are there not more comments like this?
yeah watching this is nothing like the real thing. there is so much movement the video can't really pick up during the dark areas like the spider cave and all that.
@@nicvallecillo7557 yeah. Especially when the dragon breathes on you, when you basically go upside down, when your on your back at the beginning, it just doesn’t compare.
PSA: if you’ve only queued in the single rider line you’ll miss out on the cool Hogwarts Castle Experience. It was ingenious that they added themed throughout the regular line to mitigate the perception of wait time while experiencing the magic of Harry Potter. Best theme park ride hands down.
@@musicgirl999 it’s the same for the new Mario Kart ride in Super Nintendo World in Hollywood. Single rider line cuts literally everything of the line theming. It’s good to go at least once then just use the single rider line.
When I went for my 15th birthday I was terrified to ride but I wanted to see the castle so the people let me do the whole walk-through and exit right at the boarding point
I never get sick or nauseous on rides, but this almost did me in. Had to close my eyes halfway through because I was about to puke everywhere. The 3 other people that rode with me felt the exact same as I did. That's a ride I'll never get on again. I'll stick with the rollercoasters.
The ride has you moving sideways as well as jerking the seats up and down all while showing you a screen that tricks your brain into thinking that you’re flying and moving in a forward motion. This causes motion sickness.
@@yvonybabor4748 it was some time ago that I rode it, but all I can say is there are many effects that make it seem like your "falling" but it's the tilt of the ride your on and the screen. It may depend on people, but I didn't feel sick, it was honestly awesome.
For those who are nervous, this is my favorite ride at the park! I have always been scared of roller coasters but this is different! It doesn’t go upside down and simply sometimes puts you on your back, there’s both real and simulation and it really feels like you’re flying!!! Don’t worry, it’s very fun. I believe in you!!!
Dude- I went on this for the first time today (as of when I typed this) and I was NOT ready for the dementors. Scared the living crap out of me when they jumped out and followed us through the caves
This is definitely the coolest ride I've ever been on! I HATE rides but this was just enough thrill and the perfect amount of fantasy. Really felt like you were flying, and the animatronics are so close to you!
I just went on this ride today and absolutely loved it it was amazing I was smiling the entire time. Definitely recommend even if you don’t like Harry Potter
Just got back from our trip to Universal. This ride made me so sick. It took me a hour to getting to feel better.. It was hot and humid inside. Im so mad because I normally don't get sick on rides.
Thank you for posting this! I just returned from Los Angeles this evening and spent time at Universal Studios Saturday morning and afternoon, then again Sunday morning. I rode this ride five times and had the most amazing time, so much fun!
This ride was INCREDIBLE!! I was at Universal for the first time a couple months ago and it was one of my best days ever!! I wanted to find a pov of this ride to experience it to some extent again! ❤️
Rode this for the first time about a month ago. The ride itself was amazing, as well as the queue, but the animatronics scared the crap out of me😂 I screamed so loud that my dad (who was sitting next to me) thought it was part of the ride🤣
If you are scared of rollercoasters but want to get over your fear, this ride is amazing! The ride is actually relaxing to me! (I have major rollercoaster anxiety). The worst party is the ride is a bit jerky, so it moves a ton. However the only drops are simulated. Meaning you are in 4D and they tilt you down instead of a full drop. No upsidedown motion except it tilts you far back within the seat (the seat has a back rest). it moves faster at times and slower at others!
I don’t get motion sick easily but this ride gave me the worst motion sickness. I had to sit down for like an hour afterwards. The moving sideways while undulating just did me in. Followed up with the Hagrid Motorcycle ride, though, which absolutely slaps. Very cool coaster.
This is the best ride EVER! I will say, the line was very very long… I guess that is what to expect from such an amazing ride! 10/10 absolutely LOVED! ❤️❤️
This was my favorite ride by far! It's very immersive and exciting. It did a great job incorporating all the aspects of the Harry Potter Universe, the spider and dementors part hit way different from the movies. I rode it four times and never got tired of it, truly a great ride for the Harry Potter fanatic.
2:48 this was one of the first times i think i was really and truly blown away by ride effects, at least as an adult who "knows better" now (i grew up in Southern California and day trips to Disneyland were common for me and mine, so i've pretty much always had a good grasp on theme park rides). the video here really doesn't do it justice--the combination of the sound, vapor, (not mist) heat, and lighting makes it seem like the dragon really IS breathing fire at you and it's AMAZING :D unfortunately, the dementors are kinda hokey by comparison (they unfortunately don't show up well in the video here)
That ride was real fun, only problem is I’m claustrophobic and they strap you in really tightly 😥 that was the scariest part for me, but I loved the visuals
i went on this ride last week… this is by far the scariest ride ive ever been on just with how close you get to everything. the part in the chamber of secrets tho has to be one of the coolest things i’ve ever experienced. i don’t have issues with most rides but i was screaming the whole time on this because it was all so real and in your face
Ride this in universal Osaka today. It was good to see it in English. The first time, I was enjoying the ride. The second time was poking my head out to understand how they did it, and I was blown away in wonder. You’re attached to a robotic arm that can tilt and twist, running along a rail. The natural world scenes were cavernous and amazing. Hats off to the ride designers. Each carriage would get its own projection dome that would follow the cart for that section of the ride, which was also pretty clever in how they managed to make that seamlessly blend with the real-world sets.
If you have motion sickness , you will thank me for warning you to not bother. I spent a few minutes in hell feeling like my insides were a shaken up soda can . And I even took motion sickness medicine.
You took motion sickness medicine? Oh no. Pardon my asking, but does Star Tours over at Disney make you sick without any medication or remedies? Just for comparison sake
This thing tried to kill me. It was the first time I've ever experienced motion sickness but it was bad enough to put me in a wheelchair for the rest if the day. When I got off a cast member was cleaning up someone else's puke. When I went into first aid looking for a place to lie down they had a special logbook for people getting sick from this ride. In fact the first question they asked when I went in was "you rode forbidden journey?" Never again. But if it doesn't make you sick gave fun!
I’m obsessed with that ride that I never want to leave. I love flying and that was close to making me feel like I can fly. I recommend trying it and don’t be scared. You’re gonna love it.
This ride is so much fun! I’m usually super scared of rides because I can feel in my stomach so bad but this one is just awesome. I got on it 3 times. So don’t be cared to get on this one I promise you will love it. If you get scared close your eyes and you won’t feel anything. It’s a simulator.
When I first was in line for this ride I started crying then when I was off the ride my eyes where closed the whole time, but now I'm going again and this time I'm going to smile the whole time.
As someone who has really bad arachnophobia, that is definitely something I would hate and have to close my eyes during. But it does seem like a cool ride.
I can still remember this ride from earlier this year. It really moves you around a lot so much it’s like you are really there. It’s so much more movement then any 3d ride ever. You get up close and personal with the creatures and feel the fire breathing because the dragon is real and the dementor is real and the spider. And you really flying every where. Not a still ride. It’s very unique. It’s scary but so cool especially for a potter head
Bro this is my fav ride but the whomping willow part always gets me cuz of how massive the tree looks and how close it gets to you and the dementors scare the living crap outta me too🤣
Here’s a little story for anyone who might be scared of this ride~ S9ftie remembers for one of their birthdays (maybe 8 or 9)they went to the Harry Potter rides but they were way to small to ride, it sucked. So they went next year! (Either 9 or 10 years old.) they were so nervous at first but once they actually got through it, it was really fun! It’s not scary until the whomping willow almost hits you or until Hadgrid throws you back. And if you’re still kinda small it feels like you’re slipping off your seat but your safe!
So I just rode this two days ago bc my family said it was like Radiator Springs racers. I ended up on a bench for the rest of the day trying not to puke. It was our first ride of the day, so it was about 7 hours of bench time. Hoping to paint an accurate picture for those who are uncertain on whether this ride will spoil their day or not. I can handle rollercoasters, drop rides, water rides, and some screen rides like Soaring over Ca, and Midway Mania (or whatever they call it now). But I get sick watching minecraft, imax, and facetime when people are moving around. This ride is like that x 100. If you know you get motion sickeness like this - don't do it - or ride it at the end of the day so you can immediately go home and eat a piece of bread (an impossible find at Universl). I would go through the castle, bow out at the very end, go home and watch the youtube version instead,, and laugh at all the comments
I could never ever rides any Harry Potter rides back in the day. The lines used to go so far into the general public walking around inside islands of adventure
I went on this magical attraction with my parents 6️⃣ years ago in May. We had a blast even though Harry Potter isn't my dad's cup of tea. Aragog with his 🕷️ 👪 and the Death Eaters really scared the **** out of us when the bench flew us directly to these sequences that we saw together that day.
I really loved this ride because I went there yesterday and I rode it 3 times (with the VIP pass) and it was spooky at first but I liked it the other 2 times.
I’m super scared of roller coasters and any kind of drops. This ride was the perfect thrill and didn’t push me out of my comfort zone. You don’t go upside down but you do lay flat on your back and a bit further at times. The line experience is amazing and anyone should try thus
I know Disney might be the kings of entertainment, but Universal REALLY knows how to make a ride. Even the places where you wait in line are so marvelously crafted. And not to even mention the rides themselves. Definitely my favorite theme park.
When I first rode this, I had no idea on what it was like or had any clue on the series yet this was still the best ride at the park for me. After watching all the movies and riding it again, this is such a fantastic attraction.
for anyone who hasn’t been on this ride before, it may LOOK scary but it’s not at all. for me the dragon was a bit of a jump scare, but it’s not right in your face. the ride is overall SUPER fun and my favorite in the park. 11/10 recommended especially to harry potter fans❤
If you are sitting on the far right of the bench, the dragon is absolutely in your face. Went yesterday and got blasted directly in the face with dragon 'fire' haha my hair flew everywhere
This would be the first ride I would go to every time we go to Universal Studios. I didn’t like it at first but when I went in the 2nd or 3rd time I liked it. One of my favorite rides.
Trust me even seeing it on screen makes me panic but when I went on it I closed my eyes until my sister said we past it. It’s honestly worth it but I know it can be hard.
This might not be my favorite Universal Studios Attraction, as there are 4 that I do like more than this, but I definitely do have a nostalgic attachment to it, because Harry Potter was a big part of growing up for me
i went on this ride feeling confident returned feeling more confident felt like i was flying, i was screaming for the first half of ride, it was thrillingly fun my dad said he passed out then woke up when we were facing the dementors, the 2 other men beside looked like they had fun too mom just showed her sister from the philippines diagon alley fun times
I’ve watched a video discussing how this ride works so many times, and I still can’t see the transitions/rotation from the vehicle syncing up with the screen carousels and moving with them and then syncing out back into the practical sets.(I’m discussing that I can’t see the movement transition, not the obvious you’re not staring at a screen anymore) I guess that shows how awesome this ride is, since I never felt the vehicle slowly spinning with the screens. I’ll try to keep my senses open the next time i go. The mechanics of this ride fascinate me. Lol
I totally get it. We’re going in August and I purchased Upspring Stomach Settle drops. They are natural and are meant for nausea, motion sickness and morning sickness. I’m prone to vertigo and motion sickness so I hope these work. 🤞🏾
You can’t see the goodness of the ride through the screen though I saw this before I went and thought it was lame but it was the coolest ride i’ve ever been on not even lying. In real life the coaster moves and shakes and does all of those things as your going so you can actually feel like your on the broomstick. This ride has me thinking how it was made though ..
Thankyou for dropping this up here. What is the deal of it going on the side is all the video on the side wall? How much does the ticket cost in here and is it under the universal ticket price?
I’m never riding a ride ever again. Me and my family were stuck on the chairs mid air because the ride stopped working. I was literally in tears but after 20-30 mins they turned it back on
First time I rode this was back in 2012, and I was a 15 year old high school gal. And man, this ride had me SCREAMING!!! But it's so well done, and I love it. :D
I loved this ride…I remember one time I got on it though and the ride had to stop for some reason…and of course the part it stopped for us was the spiders…and we were right in front of a big spider…and that wasn’t even the scariest part 😅 The thunder would just happen randomly but it was still amazing and I felt like that made the ride a bit more thrilling than it already was!
I’d be more scared if it stopped at that one part during the willow where you’re on your back leaning almost upside down and way off to the side right as you’re leaving the area
@@yvonybabor4748 Nope. There’s a little part where you think you do but…it’s just your head and you feel better right after…just a little dip…like in your car…nothing bad at all I promise
This ride was one of the best experiences ever if you ever get the chance to go on this amazing ride do it because it worth how ever long you have to wait in the line
I went to this ride on July with my brother and sister from fall-brook, I don’t see them often and if I do see them we always go to like Disney or something similar. So me and my big sister and my other big sister decided to go on this specific ride. Dude, when I say this was lit I swear I had a blast. I wish I could see them again on like summer break it would just be more of a blast. Maybe we should go to like Hawaii or something that would be cool. But seriously whoever is going to universal studios on like summer break DO THIS RIDE. It’s way better in person and it made me so happy, I closed my eyes for almost all the parts so I’m re - seeing this ride lolz
