As others have suggested, all the other Harry Potter pitch meetings would be good to watch. I also recommend watching the Twilight pitch meetings and the Game of Thrones pitch meetings - especially the 8th season one. Ryan's earlier pitch meetings were still funny, but he was a bit more subdued in his delivery, once he got that smirky tone to his voice, it made the pitch meetings even funnier.

All of Ryan's pitch meetings are really good. The really early ones are a bit slower paced, and Producer Guy was much less wacky, but those ones are still good IMO. Producer guy is a bit like Homer Simpson, he just gets sillier and sillier as the series goes on 😄

Thing is, the Dursley's don't want Harry to go to school because they know he's gonna come back even more magical, and 'strange', of couse.

If I remember In the book, at the end we learn they had no choice to keep Harry, Dumbledore kind of force them. because of something like Voldemort couldn't attack him if he was at a place like home and is mother sister was the link. Maybe I'm wrong 🤷‍♂️

Ryan is amazing, his comedy is just a perfect balance of silliness and satire. I think he knows some of the points are a bit silly, but they are comic nevertheless. Like the Dursley's didn't want him to go out for I think 2 reasons : - they didn't want him to get more powers, they wanted him to stay "normal" like to force him to be a different person he was. - plus they care a lot about their image, if they were taking care of a child and he happened to disappear one day, it would be the source of rumors and set shame and suspicion on their family (that to the Dursley's eyes is a perfect family). Like they are just completely biased, they don't think rationally.

I don't have such a problem with the Dursleys wanting to keep Harry at home. I think it's made a bit more plausible in the books. Firstly they hate magic and want nothing to do with it, including sending their nephew to a magical school. And on the other hand they are bullies and want to keep Harry miserable. In the book there is also a magical reason why Harry _has_ to return to the Dursleys every year: he has to live with family in order not to break the spell that is keeping him protected from Voldemort when he is not at school.

Edit: Also totally understand if you'd rather not react to another YT creators theorizing, but the Carlin Brothers, in my opinion at least, add quite a lot of depth to the series by providing their thoughts on intention.

Actually, the entire reason Petunia hated Lilly and James was becase Lilly was accepted to Hogwarts and she was not. Its not unreasonable to think that she hated that school way more than she hated Harry and her sister. Keeping Harry from going would be punishing both Harry, cuz he wants to go, and Hogwarts as they want him there. Considering who Harry is and who Petunia is, its not unlikely she also know that Harry specifically is very importat to Hogwarts and Dumbledoor. The vast majority of mugglers are not allowed to even know magic exists, theyre essentially "Men-In-Blacked" by the inistry every time they happen so see magic in order to keep it secret. But, Petunia is a squib, a person born to magical parents but who didnt get magical powers themselves. These people are very rare, I think there are only two in the books and I think there is mentions of a third but who isnt ever actually there. Its Petunia and Argus Filtch. The last one is someone talking about an old relative or historic person. Anyway, Squibs *_are_* allowed knowledge about magic. Makes sense really, if youre entire family are wizards and whiches but youre not, that can only be solved in two ways without violating international law and human rights. 1) Youre entire family must keep it a secret from you. This is so idiculously unlikelt to actually be sustainable that the solution to this would be that youre entire family would be banned from practicing magic forever. 2) Since you are family, you trust the squib to keep your secret. Literally the only remaining solution would be forcing the parents to give tha baby up for adoption or to remove the child from its family by force. And, as I aleady said, this would violate several internatonal laws and human rights. I dont think Petunia had a whole lot of details on the situation, I doubt the Magistry wouldnt wanna give a non magical person more information ON magic than absolutely necessary. But she knew Voldemort k!lled her sister and brother in law. He was most likely told just how evil and dangerous Voldemort was. She knew this was done with a k!II!ng cures. She knew Harry was the reason the spell backfired, that Harry was inadvertedly responsible for the dark lords downfall. And she _*must*_have been told that Dumbledoor wanted her to raise him away form the fame, pressure and all the chaos that would bring to a toddler. There is literally no other reason for Dumbledoor to WANT the Dursleys to take him. Harry is NOT safer with them, he is not being prepared for his future at all, He lives in a scrub under the stairs and they all hate his guts. There is 0 upsides with this decision *_EXCEPT_* that his wll be so very famous it might actually make him a spoiled, entitled, greedy narcissist who think he is above everyone else, who doss *_that_* sound like? Yea... Draco Malfoy. Imagine if the ONE person who was both the key to reviving the dark lord AND simultaneously literally the only one who could ever stop him... Imagine if that was Draco... Dumbledoor could never gamble with that risk. Petunia hated magic out of jealosy, that "Lilly was special" and she wasnt. This, ofcourse, made her hate James too and by extension also Harry. But the institution who actually confrim and solidify their claim to being special is the same institution that also confirmed and solidified the fact that she wasnt. Hogwarts is what made the claims reality, what placed it beyond criticism or disagreement. It wasnt just jealosy and inferiority complex talking, an actally govenrmnet flat out told you that all your prejudices you have about youreslf is NOT you in your mind and you just have low selfesteem. Theye facts. Petunia hated Harry, hated Hogwarts, haterd Dumbledoor and the entire wizaring world. By keeping them apart, shes skrewing all of them over in a single swoop. On top of it all, she can continue using Harry as an motional sandbag and take all her hatred out on him. Her disdain for Harry and having to his face everyday would probably be insignificant consequece compared to her gettnig revenge on everyone, everything and even everyWHERE she ever hated
