@@helengunter378 Me too Helen. It was a wonderful point you made and it perfectly defends the Home Office's case. In fact, it shows that a precedent exists to show that Harry, as a non working Royal shouldn't even have the security offered to him (at great cost to the tax payer) at present on his rare visits to the UK. In addition, there is also that Eugenie and Beatrice were so much younger (21 and 23) than Harry (40 this year) when they lost their state paid security. Harry is a grown man, he's an ex soldier, it's his job to protect his family, not the tax payers. It's lovely to meet you Helen, hugs x

Princess Diana gave up her security that she WAS entitled to have after her divorce. She dated the heart surgeon and went around the world safely. She died while being under the meticulous care of Mr Mohammed ‘s team. She died from a car accident because she wasn’t wearing a seat belt. The security man was in the front seat and had the good sense to be wearing the seat belt. Harry has been seen in taxi and cars not wearing a seat belt either. No one killed Diana, who was far more important than Harry and his wife. We in America do not want to give him security at the tax payers expense to keep him safe! Thank you Lady C for the lovely history lesson today.

Al Fayed's security team were wholly inadequate and unused to the level of security required to care for a member of the Royal Family. They, and Dodi, allowed her to get into a car with a drunk driver with no seatbelt on, who sped off way beyond the speed limit. This would never have happened had she had an experienced Royal Protection Officer with her. They could also have stayed at the Ritz if concerned about the number of paps outside.

She refused to attend, wanting to record the whole session from afar so she could refute various agreements later. She was counting on that IPP status, that is why she is pushing him to get it back. It would save them huge amounts of money, and she is missing being a famous royal figure in a security car caravan. Because he gave it up, she is pushing him to get it back. jmo

Harry's claim in the hulu documentary that William was jealous of him over his success at invictus has been debunked. I had forgotten that Invictus was originally a joint effort between Harry and William. A video clip of them together at an event has resurfaced where they are thanked for their participation and it is actually mentioned that this is a joint venture between the brothers. I already felt that was a lie because William is the one that helped fund Invictus with his court settlement that was nearly a million dollars. He wouldn't have done that if he wanted it to be a failure. Also Harry seems to be oblivious to the fact that Invictus is going down hill and losing support because of his and Megan's involvement and some allegations of mishandling of funds.

As a US citizen, I do not want my tax dollars going to pay for the Monticito duo’s family “security”. IMO, when they decided to “step back” from being working Royals they became responsible for paying for their own “security”. There are consequences to decisions. Full stop. IMO, he and his wife continue to “dine off” the Royal family and the “security” presence gives them a feeling of importance when they really don’t contribute anything of importance on their own, which, IMO, is why they appear desperate to have the “security”.

No, this case is NOT about IPP status, which is not even subject to adjudication in national courts. It doesn't matter whether you are a royal or a homeless wino. You only get IPP status if you are a head-of-state or are formally appointed to act as the representative of one. Harry (and wife) were only given IPP status when they were on official government trips abroad, such as the trips to Morocco, S. Africa, etc. Their status was temporary, only lasting as long as the mission did. They did not hold IPP status on their personal trips, such as Meghan's baby shower in NY or their vacations in Italy --- nor for trips made for private charities like Invictus. It has to be government business.

He gets security when he comes here, he just doesn't want to give notice and wants his IPP status back so he can get his diplomatic immunity back. He must be getting really worried about getting held accountable over Archwell the charity and the African parks row. He needs to hear no more often. He walked away, he was told the situation before he left, but didn't think they would do it. Now a letter has turned up supposedly from the NYC deputy police commissioner stating that the fake car chase there was danger. What they didn't say was that it was Harry's team who were driving recklessly, stopping traffic and driving erratically. There is no proof anywhere otherwise it would have been released. Even the fact they wanted the backgrid photos shows they had something to hide. He is spoilt and entitled and just won't listen to the word no. The Royal family need more security from them. He made his security situation worse by what he wrote in his book who's fault is that?

Harry's parents spent their lives trying to make up to Harry that he wasn't going to be King, and constantly tried to to make him feel as important and that even though he wasn't going to be King his life would be just as important. Just as when Charles first started talking about cutting back on the number of working Royals, he always planned on giving Harry a huge part that would make him as important as William to the best of his ability. This created a huge sense of entitlement in Harry. When Charles and the palace officials covered up Harry's drug abuse, alcohol abuse, gambling addiction, in ability to stick with any job, unreliability, it deepend his entitlement and he probably told Meghan that the palace would make sure that no bad press would be published as part of their protection. They certainly were able to clear the internet about her mother's past. He is filled with envy, spite, against his brother. Also as his marriage is more and more difficult it will only make him more angry that his brother has a happy marriage.

Sounds like the "Sandringham Summit" was a comprehensive meeting where Harry was made aware of everything that was going to happen if he quit his job as a working royal. The Princess Royal should authorise costs from his inheritance from the late Queen. Nobody else would be allowed to use public funding for a court case against the state. This is a constitutional monarchy, not an absolute one, and yet Parliament are not stepping up and declining public funds to pay for Harry's whimsy when he's firmly been told no by the court.

Harry is taking a private case and has no public funding. He will be liable to the costs incurred by the Home Office if he fails to win access to the Court of Appeal or if any appeal allowed fails.

Please don't worry about that. SHE will definitely NEVER EVER come back here, she is a coward like her husband, and she KNOWS for sure just how much she is hated here in the UK. But ultimately she would never allow H to bring the kids here, she wouldn't bring them here and would use them as the excuse to never come and live here, because she hates us almost as much as we hate her. I don't mean to be rude, just to inform but the Duke and Duchess of Kent live separate lives and have for donkeys years. He, Edward, is a prize prat and she is an absolute angel, she deserves to be made a Saint. She has been treated despicably by the Royal family over the years but she has risen above it and quietly helped so many. She is a beautiful soul. She is called Katherine. Her children are George, Helen and Nicholas. Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are both unpleasant, arrogant racists. They are parents of Gabriella (Ella) who has tragically just lost her husband to suicide. They do indeed need praying for, it's terribly sad for everyone who cared for him. By all accounts he was a kind and genuine bloke. His in-laws... not so much. Don't confuse beautiful, kind and generous Katherine with ugly, mean and arrogant Marie-Christine.. poor Gabriella, married at 38, widowed and childless at only 42. So sad.

Not only did Diana refuse continued Palace protection once, but the Queen fervently asked her several times to change her mind because of her children and the fact that she was the mother of the future King, but Diana’s paranoia about being “spied on” wouldn’t allow her to bow her stiff neck and take the largesse! All other things being equal, she absolutely *WOULD* still be alive today as Lady C said about the seatbelt, but her police protection officers wouldn’t have allowed the stupid situation in the first place! People don’t like to say it, but Diana had a self destructive streak a mile wide, and her st*pid son is carrying on in her footsteps with paranoia being provided by his wife!

In my opinion Harry wants all this personal protection to have the get out of jail card for him and his wife, that way they both can do whatever they want and not be held accountable for their actions no matter what they do and where they do it, with all they have done so far the damage they have caused that IPP statist would be dangerous in their hands.
