Watching you prune away on your plants is so relaxing... LOL, Especially after enduring our 80-100 mph winds and storms down here in Cypress, TX. Amazingly, our trees and gardens are still standing. We use a wind-up type of hose holder, but to be honest, our hoses are usually just heaped in a circle at the last place we used them unless the yardmen are going to mow that day. Lantana is one of my favorite go to summer plants and looking forward to seeing what colors you plant this year.

quick connects are great. They're not that expensive but you do have to put them on anything you’ll be connecting to your hose. I think enough people on here have convinced me to "not" use fish emulsion. I use a concentrated liquid product from Microlife called Ocean Harvest. It's produced here locally in the Houston area but you might be able to find it in your area, typicallt at independent nurseries. Great product

I'll be interested in whether the lantana is the type that doesn't pop up everywhere. I've been warned about that. However I've also heard the newer hybrids? don't do that. See what you find out as I really want to plant a perennial lantana.

Check into "quick connect" connectors for your hose. It allows you to switch between wands or nozzles much easier. I have them on all my hoses and all my nozzles/wands. Thanks for the lesson on using the Miracle Gro fertilizer container. I never knew how to use it without the granular bags. I had violas in my railing containers and now I see all kinds of violas coming up in the garden that was below. We'll see how long they last. I'm with you on composting.

Foxgloves, nearly all of mine are biannual plants however I leave the stems on the plants for the seed pods to go brown and hard. This is when the seeds are mature, I don’t ever cut the stems when the pods are green. That’s what I’ve always been taught, so I’m wondering if your seeds are not mature enough 🤷‍♀️ it’s just a thought. Maybe you could do a little experiment in your back garden, it’s late now because you’ve already been cleaning your front/side garden.

Hi Amanda I just love a good hard prun and cleanup!Im working on my rose's 12 this yr because I propagated 3 .I just did all my patunias.Lookung forward to the lantana, I got some purple trailing because I dida all purple new garden bed and their different in texture and blooms I'm not sure yet if im sold.I use them for border too and I say to folks if you want a beautiful impact and easy care get lantana! Everything looks good you still have lots of color and texture!I have my hose in a pot I keep my nozzle draped over because of spiders 🤣my compost bin is tucked in a back corner and I just put up a old trellis panel my neighbor was tossing in front of it and made a small garden bed of cut flowers.

My Bubblegum and Jazzberry Supertunias from last year are blooming again for me! I thought they were goners and cleaned out their flowerpots. I planted a oeony in one pot and left the other prepped for something new for just over 2 months while I recovered from my broken ankles. I found three petunia plants growing, once I was able to get back outside, between the two pots. I transplanted the one growing with the new oeony into the other pot and they’re now blooming! I’m waiting to see if they do as well as last springs did. They definitely got a late start, but they are very healthy looking and loaded with buds and flowers opening. 😊
