Today on Hangin With Harv, we're making an axe / chopping block that will be used in green woodworking projects such as the shave horse that will be in an upcoming video, preparing leg blanks, spoon and bowl blanks in the future. I think this project turned out well and am thinking about additional green woodworking projects to come.

You can absolutely do this. Take your time and always be careful when using any power tools and especially a chainsaw. Even hand tools must be used carefully. This chopping block has been awesome. Saves my back and with the backstop and proper technique is wonderful to use.

That's all I needs a good carb clean and maybe a carb adjustment a check your spark arrestor on the front where the where the muffler is does a little screen in there take that off and clean it out

WHAT WAS IT WITHT HE CHAINSAW??? SOUNDS LIKE MY STIHL WHNE THE SCREEN IN THE CARB WAS CLOGGED. CLEANED IT OUR - LIKE BRAND NEW.

My ms230 does the same it bottoms out ive put two carb kits on it and it still does it ,its driving me nuts.it maybe the coil and HT lead i think im gonna try that next .Thanks for showing us your project ,Greetings from Wales UK.

Nice job Harv. Been meaning to make one for awhile. As for chopping move piece to top of block farther away from you instead of middle. Much, much less likely for axe mishap since it will hit wood instead of hitting Harv 😀

I just love the Personal Protective Equipment for the Stihl saw.... Helmet, ear defenders, Ballistic nylon trousers, safety boots..... Watching someone with that lack of personal care (or lack of knowledge) removes any worthwhile things that maybe shown in the video. Shame really.
