It might be easy to find the answer in our book but the thing is it’s hard to implement them and follow them. It’s easy to be greedy and vulgar and violent, it’s hard to be generous and polite and peaceful.

Well atleast you have an answer to go on... we have to try, fail, and learn in order to get it right. And the thing is, the bible isnt exactly the most moral ideology out there... look at what they did to people who were gay or had premarital sex... they killed them... what a great book to learn from

@@astronautdancer6260 there's a reason for discriminating/harming people for things they cant control? Nd to blame jews is wrong both technically and morally... Christians didnt exist yet so thats not a valid argument... people who worshipped the god of the bible did it. That means if Christians existed back then, they too would have done it. Catholics, baptist, evangelicals, anyone who worships the god of the bible because thats what god said to do. "Oh but he doesnt do that anymore that was only in the old testament times" .... oh well that makes everything yall did back then ok now right? So if i kill people, then stop its ok because i dont do it anymore? Just stop. And applying morals nd lessons we learn is difficult for everyone not just people who believe in god.

The mysteries elude many unless they seek Him with their whole heart. See that’s the part we wiggle against as well as believers. Some don’t know the amount of faith it requires to move mountains. They’ve given up on God; their god being their tangible desires. They don’t believe Gods laws, it’s counterintuitive to self preservation and they flounder and fade not knowing that you get what you give, shaken together, and running over, best be mindful what you’re giving because you’ll receive it in abundance! Haha and here we are to the gift of giving. Those who are in tune to Gods vibes can fathom the depths of His ever-increasing love, even for those who disagree knowing that faith comes by hearing and that love, God love, agape love, covers the multitude of sin, makes the lame to walk, and the blind to see, another concept that escapes the godless. I know, I was once there. I was once blind but now I see.

If you are an atheist, there is no concrete basis for morals or ethics. At best it's a subjective, evolved emotion. At worst, it's a lie shared by all of society. As a Christian, of course it's easier for me to make certain moral/ethical judgements. I do my best to submit my life to the laws of someone greater than me, Jesus Christ, who wants only the best for me. Why would you expect to have the same privilege if you are fighting against the Creator of the system?
@fantazypointz1054
@fantazypointz1054 10 месяцев назад
Many atheist have different basis for morality like kantian ethics or consequentialists ethics. These types of ethics are just as valid as religion, especially since Christianity has so many denominations that all say different things about morality but yet all still claim that their moral rules are objective.
@jhn_thln
@jhn_thln 10 месяцев назад
@@fantazypointz1054 I understand I am not exactly unbiased in this conversation, and my guess is neither are you, so I'm not entirely expecting a resolve of differences here. However, I can't reconcile putting Kantian Ethics and Consequential Ethics on the same level as the Law of God. Kantian Ethics works under the premise that all humans must be essentially good, or at least not bad, because it relies on the good will of a person to make them choose the moral action. The problem is people are essentially bad by nature, and I don't need the Bible to tell me that (though it does). War, murder, chaos, theft, and s*x crimes (to name a few) are all proof that man kind is inherently evil, at least to some degree. This is why we sin or are at least tempted to sin all the time. Regarding Consequential Ethics, it essentially states the ends justify the means. I don't know if this is controversial or not, but ends justify absolutely 0 means. There are probably far better examples, but being a huge Marvel fan, I will illustrate this using Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. His entire premise as a villain was that the end, universal sustainability, would justify the means, mass genocide. Most people watching those movies are rooting for the Avengers going to stop Thanos, and I don't think anyone really wanted them to lose in Endgame. That's just to say if most of society can agree that ends do not justify the means, then we are all in agreement. So for these reasons, I do not believe Kantian Ethics and Consequential Ethics have much of a logical foundation, much less a Biblical one. What I hold to is the Law of God. In the book of Romans, Paul says God has written His law on the heart of every man. This works through man's conscience, giving him inner clues as to what is right or wrong. However, when man rejected God, they rejected His law, and their conscience was then broken. This is why you see so much evil in the world. Any time you see something good, that is adherence to God's law, which is good by nature. Ultimately, man's conscience can be gradually healed by the work of the Holy Spirit, once a person accepts Christ as their Lord and Savior. This is why I said in my previous comment that it is in fact easier for a Christian to make moral judgements. I understand that you may not agree. If you don't, I ask you to allow for the possibility for one moment that maybe what I'm saying is true. Life is meaningless...until you let God give it meaning. He loves you and wants to save you, but in love, He will not force His salvation on you. It is for you to accept His call to Himself, and to eternal freedom from sin, and ultimately death in the lake of fire. I urge you, come to Christ before it's too late.

@@pigdog1971We have been presented with the question of where a human sense of morality comes from. I presented the issues I found with the answers @fantazypointz1054 gave in an arguably respectful way. On top of that, I presented an answer from God's word that, from my point of view, does a good job of answering the question. In response, you responded with sarcasm and gave no counter argument aside from just saying, "You're wrong." That is both lazy and disrespectful, and ultimately does not give your stance a very good reputation. If you would like to present a valid counter argument, I would be more than happy to discuss the differences in our views. God bless!

The Holy Spirit does answer our ever question and direct us though… few days ago my husband needed something at NAPA and I, knowing nothing, was directed to a tool in a case in a top shelf by the Holy Spirit, I heard Him say “he needs that one” and I told my husband “I don’t know why but the Holy Spirit is leading me to that took up there”. And my husband in shock said “oh my gosh I’ve never noticed there were tools way up here, this is just what I needed!” And the guy behind the counter goes “you listen to That Guy no matter what! Good on you! He led you well because this is 50% off right now and the sale ends tomorrow! I said “yep even if it’s a total random thing like this, He’s saved my life many times so I listen without hesitation now.” We saved $600 that day and my husband uses it daily for his job.

In my opinion, having a perfect all-knowing and all-powerful God guide me through the problems I'd struggle with is a blessing and I know I couldn't do this on my own, so why would I want to try? It's my 24th birthday and seeing another video with Cliffe Knechtle is a gift 🎂🎉. I was raised Christian but became an atheist and agnostic from 2017-2019 as a teenager dealing with mental health issues until I started reading my Bible again after my music teacher gave me his red Bible I read it from Genesis to Revelation. I would call Cliffe Knechtle and his family heroes because people like that look out for believers and unbelievers alike as human beings whether they agree, disagree or disrespectfully disagree. AMEN most people aren't looking for The Truth but feeling better or superior to others. 🙏👊❤️. We're all sinners trying to do Good or Evil in our actions and intentions. After reading The Bible in it's context I realized that The 7 Days of Creation in Genesis are actually 7 thousand years as a Day to The Lord God is a thousand years as Psalm and 2 Peter says so the Earth is actually older than 14 thousand years old so it could be millions to billions of years old. I'm glad brothers Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle's Apologetics ministry still going strong in 2024 after all these decades. Evolutionary biology from common ancestry has nothing to do with believing in a Creator we call God but it's a tool used by Atheists, agnostics and secular people to promote their own godless community and agenda against Christianity. Atheists and secular humanists are guilty of promoting a nihilistic reality where everyone and everything is objectively meaningless because of and in spite of religion and Atheism. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college student. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't. I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict. Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers. Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I don't mean this is any condescending manner but if you'd like to discuss The Scriptures with me or have me listen to your view on anything my instagram account is Savage Christian Kombatant.

@marcosazzi7788
@marcosazzi7788 10 месяцев назад
Honestly, don't think about these other people answering. It's not a moral question to live a luxurious lifestyle. As Solomon said in the Ecclesiastes 5:19 To every man whom God has given wealth and possessions, he has also given him the ability to eat from them, to receive his reward, and to find enjoyment in his toil; these things are the gift of God. There is no moral or ethical question to living a luxurious lifestyle. It's only an ethical or moral question to not respond to God's calling for generosity (and in this instance, he will make it very clear). My advice is to listen to Solomon, the man with the most wisdom. Not anyone in this comment section that don't know anything.

Sure, it’s in the Bible, we know what to do, but as for making decisions, we seek the Lord’s will in the Bible and through prayer, and we’re also tasked with making good decisions, too. There’s a whole book called Proverbs, the existence of which tells me I ought to value making good decisions.

The master was happy with all of them except the one that did absolutely nothing with what he was given out of fear. Instead he was pleased with the one that used the money wisely and gained more…God wants us to be blessed but not materialistic. @@corkyduke8673 We must consider the cultural context for this passage. Slavery was a normal institution in ancient times, to forbid it in a society would be to spell out its downfall. I am by no means encouraging this behaviour today, for we know better, but it was normal to beat a slave in ancient times. This verse in the law was created to protect the slave from being unjustly killed by their master, even though it is a rather harsh law when taken out of context. The stealing and selling of persons, as was common in the cultural context of Exodus, was a capital offence according to the law. Most slaves were debt-slaves: people who voluntarily offered themselves to slavery for forgiveness of debts. Taking verses out of context is never the right approach (this also applies to some Christians) to creating a logically supported argument. God bless you 😁

How is choosing between two brands of appliances a “difficult ethical question”? Atheists walk through life with courage to face whatever life throws at them with their own judgement, the free will that God supposedly gave them. The Bible or any holy book for that matter is a guide for people that do not know better, that need a safe choice to come to when they’re struggling. As an atheist, I chose to judge situations and take decisions based on the only thing that I know that exists for sure, my own mind, my own experience and my own morals. It is not very difficult to look around you and assess what is good or what is bad. Yes, we struggle with questions or existential problems, but we can proudly say that we came to a conclusion on our own, that our judgement helped us pull through and emerge victorious. And guess what? That makes us better people and makes us feel contempt that we did the right thing! Can believers say the same, or do they just blindly follow laws hoping that it’s the right thing to do? This is the difference between believers and atheists: the reasoning. Believers think they did a good job because they followed their holy book’s laws, atheists believe they did a good job because they judged the situation properly and took a decision for the better.

and besides, as atheists, it won't matter what you choose because when you die, both the moral and immoral are just worm food. no pressure. if you escape accountability in this life, you escape it forever. with Christians, or any religion that had an afterlife dictated by certain religious rules, we have a lot more pressure. as a new Christian, can confirm I had it way easier morally a year ago. EVERY DAY now I am held accountable by a God that would have me be righteous. it is soooo much easier to just say "all you can do is try" and leave it at that. waaaay harder to have to work every day to battle your own flesh, which the world idolizes and tells you to obey.
