I have the Excalibur dehydrator. It has an herb setting. I use that for drying the leaves. I use the Hamilton drying the power because the blower is at the bottom and the blower on the Excalibur is at the back side.

I have a Cosari dehydrator and love it! My Stevia seeds have germinated (12 out of 50 seeds) and I’m hoping they thrive until I can put them outside. An indoor plant would be nice too.

I will have to check out that dehydrater. Where are you located? I have to start some stevia, it's amazing how sweet it is. after trying both methods of preserving the stevia. I definitely prefer the liquid. I think my germination was low last year. But starting more again, for this year. I had about 12 plants last year and it did great in the garden.

@@flyingbytheseedofmyplants1948 I’m in Iowa, 5B last frost date of April 29. I’d like to put a few in a planter on my deck where I can wheel them around and find shade on super hot days. And tuck one in my raised garden bed.

I like the idea of using a planter pot for stevia, I might do that too. Sounds like a great idea. I am trying to figure out what I am planting where, and doing the pot would open more space in my raised beds. @@juliepoolie5494

Can you also freeze the leaves in Zip Lock freezer bags? Or hang dry stevia on the stems and then take the leaves off?

Hi tennesseenana, I have not put my stevia in the freezer, or dried. Some herbs do well with that, but I have not tried it with Stevia. I will have to research that. My favorite is with the tincture way, using the vodka and the cooking the alcohol out.

Where can I buy stevia plants?
@flyingbytheseedofmyplants1948
Hi Sandy, typically a garden center will have plants. I started all mine from seed. I bought the seeds from Johnny's seed company. I did start them in February. But if you need starts to transplant, I would check anywhere that sell herbs.
