Chili plants can live longer especially when planted directly on the ground. But productivity slows down especially when the plant is already around two years old. To encourage chili plants to continue its productive cycle, remove all ripe chilis and prune the plant. With the right fertilizer and care, new branches will produce flowers for renewed productivity.
