Since we started our full time truck camper rv adventure, we’ve stayed with over 3 dozen Harvest Hosts in 20 different states. If you’re wondering what it’s like to spend the night in an orchard, weather a storm at a winery, have an abandoned town to yourself or to wake up with goats and cherry doughnuts, we’re taking you along. Misty mornings in the vineyards, rum school in a the Louisiana swamp and farm cats that move right in. It’s always an adventure! Let’s go!
Harvest Hosts is a subscription program which allows full self contained campers to spend the night at a variety of businesses from wineries to farm stands and museums. You’ll be asked to spend a minimum of $20 at your host location in exchange. It’s a wonderful way to experience local culture and cuisine as you travel the country. Wineries, breweries, cider houses, distilleries, museums, entertainment venues, attractions, golf courses, casinos, cultural institutions, restaurants, bars, farm markets, factories and more!

Welcome to Outer Limits Open Road. We are Bill and Kelli. We downsized from a big house to a 470 square foot condo. Not satisfied, we jettisoned even more stuff and took off in a 100 square foot tiny truck camper named Lucidity Base. We’re off to see the country in our RV, one quirky roadside attraction at a time. There will be treats. Please join us by subscribing to follow our journey.

I'm loving my HH membership,there's a big difference between a restful nights sleep and just a power nap at a Walmart or cracker barrel.

Just stumbled onto your channel. Just love the opening, I have always been a big fan of the Outer Limits. I watched it when it originally aired, showing my age. 😄

You failed to mention Harvest Hosts bought Boondockers Welcome (to the anguish of many of the Boondockers Welcome members), a program where members offer their locations free to self-contained RVers; unless you choose hookups (electric & or water) where a $5 to $15 per night.

Nice video but jumped all over the place, need more organization. Rushed. Would have loved to enjoy all the footage a little longer.

So much fun ahead! It really is magical. You can read the reviews to see if it's a good fit and most can be booked online. So excited for you!

Great video. I enjoyed the footage of unique harvest host locations. It would have been helpful if you explained what was available to buy in order to support the businesses you stayed at. Especially the unique, non-food places, like the art museums and ghost town.

Wewere considering Harvest Host for awhile but we will not be self-contained. It would be pretty cool to hit the road on that double decker bus! ;-) The animals are sooo cute....The U.P. is so beautiful - we love going there! Everything is so fresh after a storm. Very nice informative video! 💙Terry and Terri

We weren't either with our first camper and I was so bummed. But you never know about the future - keep it in your back pocket.

I wasn't self contained with my go fast camper (but had a bucket so technically self contained? 😂) and I was able to stay at a few harvest hosts with no problem. I would just call ahead, explain what my rig was, promise not to poop on the ground like a savage animal and no problem!

Thank you for some comprehensive insight into Harvest Hosts. I looks like just the thing for between my anticipated boondocking efforts. I have a quick QUESTION: Would the dinette sleeping area be adequate for a 5’9” 220# man. I have a friend of 50 years and fellow widower who may travel with me. I love the guy dearly but I’m not sleeping with him! 😉

We are getting our first RV so very inexperienced. Do the harvest hosts provide water and electricity? If not where do you get these if traveling and just stopping overnight at Harvest host sites? Same with staying in parking lots overnight.
@OuterLimitsOpenRoad

Hi. Not all rigs are equipped to boondock very long without power, so it will depend on yours. Your water will be on board in your tanks. HH was never intended to be a campground, so very few hosts have power or water. If they do it will be an additional fee and no guarantee since another guest might beat you to it. When we Harvest Host or lot dock, we have to stay at a campground every so many days to fill our water and empty our tanks. We have solar power so are unlimited in terms of power. We can run everything except air conditioning. When you choose your rig, know the capacity of your fresh water and your black and gray tanks and you'll soon learn how long you can go before stopping at a place with services. You can opt to pay for water and dump at state campgrounds or Loves truck stops, but then you've partially paid for am overnight. Bottom line is it all comes down to your rig and how long your power water and tanks can go off grid!

hey friend.... enjoyed the video... I just wished that Harvest Host would not hit my card un-aware. If you don't want them, you have to actually go in and cancel your subscription, else they will automatically charge you EVERY year. You may have a bad year medically or financially.. no matter they will charge you unless you cancel out your whole deal. This year.... I didn't want to use it. I'm thinking that I won't sign up this year. But guess what? They charged hit me for $159...... Now I am a member for another year... "Like it or not" Beware of this when you chose to buy in..... Because of this policy... I will never buy another membership with them again....

How far on advance do you have to book?
@OuterLimitsOpenRoad
@OuterLimitsOpenRoad Год назад
Each host lists this in the app. Some don't mind same day visits. Most are a couple days in advance minimum.
