I hope people who don't garden or farm watch your videos so they may see the SUPER hard work it takes to bring food to market. You're the two hardest working people in Canada!
Serena needs a "Floral Stem Cutter" it has a long blade, you stick the whole bouquet in and quickly slice the ends even....this will prevent some issues later with overworking her fingers and hands clipping each stem separate....at our stores floral dept they have the cutters bolted to a piece of wood and sitting across a sturdy garbage can...all the stems just fall right in, no fuss... :}
Two years ago, after 52 years of marriage my wife had a heart attack. Darn it, I was supposed to go first. The firemen of station 5 in Tucson and the doctors at the university of Arizona operated and I have my wife back, safe and sound so I know what you are going through. God Bless you both.
I went through that after only 41 years of marriage. It is so scary. I am on a plant based diet as a result. Dr Caldwell Esselstyn has great videos on RU-vid. God bless. P s. I am out in the garden every chance I can. Just have to keep it short and sweet because of the heat.
Glad to see Serena’s smile and that she’s feeling better. Ian was a trooper to pick up all that responsibility and extra work for the last few days. Congrats to you both on your record market sales! Hooray! 👍🏻👏💗
If I lived in your area, I'd buy Serena's bouquets for sure! Nobody at my local farmer's market has anything that looks half as nice. There was one booth with bunches of sunflowers, and that's it. The two markets in my city are mainly fresh veggies, fruit, nuts, and lots of pre-made foods by local businesses.
I always thought that since I saw her flowers. Around here, the bouquets look very messy. I always end up buying 2 or 3 to arrange myself. Hers always look so balanced.
I wish folk would be buying flowers here in rural ne 😭 I go every week to my market (though sometimes with just sunflowers 😭) and usually don’t sell any
@@theglitterballlifestyle675 they likely look at buying flowers as an unneeded indulgence. What about growing plants with beautiful flashy flowers. My mother was thrifty but she couldn’t stop herself when she saw a beautiful pot of fushcia and begonias
I would buy them over anything else, I never see them at the grocery store florists either- so they feel special to me when I can find them at the market instead of special ordering with a real florist
Everyone should leave a like and comment to help these guys out, it must be really tough to keep producing content right now. You guys are amazing, an inspiration. Keep safe 💐🧡
The worry and weight of it all is all over your face Ian. We know you're taking care of Serina, the kids, the farm, & the market. Be sure to take care of yourself too! Apricots are my favorite!
Aw Ian I love how you always look on the bright side of everything, Mr positive, you work so hard to keep everything going , well done for stepping up whilst Serena is under the weather, and those cherry's look so good
I am so happy for you! Serina needs to take care of herself, but that goes for you too, Ian . I get more and more attached to and your family ever time I watch. This is my first year to watch your episodes, but find myself worrying about you and wishing the best for you. The love and respect you show each other and your children is refreshing. I’ve even wished I was wealthy enough to support you more than I do now. You are making an impact on the world. Love to you both.
Congratulations. Those arrangements were so beautiful Serena. You guys deserve every success. Thank you for sharing the hard bits and not just the wins.
I had to show my husband your video because I am so proud of you hitting your goal and having a thousand dollar "PLUS" week!! Great job guys! So glad Serina is okay and that Ian got some help. I knew you could do it! I always watch to see if you got that thousand dollar week. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Serena I do think you are the lucky charm at the market! I think people have a soft spot for seeing families working together, especially with kids. Reminds me of the small business my parents had and seeing them work hard together. You should test and see if markets tend to do better when the family goes together 😋
Being from Australia, I get that the heat can be so stressful for the body. Keep drinking water and stay in the shade where you can. And you could hose each other down. It's so great to see a husband/wife team smashing their goals together. Thank you for being an inspiration to me and my son who watches your channel daily. I've yet to get my husband on board, but I'm trying.
This has become my favorite RU-vid channel. I always look forward to your videos. The market one is my favorite. So beautiful flowers and veggies!!! You are very hard working people. I wish you the very best!!!! As I watch this video I am thinking:”today is Friday. They are harvesting and getting ready for another market!!” I hope you sell everything tomorrow!! Take care
Great job you guys! I think the market worked better because you both were there and able to work together, you Serena are refreshed, and of course because people missed you all those two weeks. Here's to the next 6 weeks! 🍾🎉
I sell dinnerplate dahlias by the stem in my roadside flower wagon ($4ea or 3/10). It's pretty much the only thing I sell July through November as my Campbell River 60x120 city property (including house) is not big enough for a wide range of product. The white ones sell like crazy in August but not before and not after. That said, a florist does like to come by and purchase them for weddings.
I commend you as a husband and business owner… you do what has to be done and that is remarkable. Thank you Ian and Serena for everything ! Love your videos and appreciate your efforts%. Get well soon, Serena!
I truly love you two and your sweet relationship! I love the way you talk about Serina and how supportive you are of her and how you recognize how hard she works! Your a good husband! I hope she's feeling better (I think she is, right?) Stupid smoke, stupid fires!! 😥
Bless you and your family. God bless u with healthy and strong body mind and spirit so you can create these beautiful harvest year after year for all humanity.🙏🌹❤️🌷
Serena, your bouquets are amazing ! So glad that you are reaching your goals. I love your videos because you show also how hard work it is to grow so many beautiful things. Keep going and dont give up
It was nice to see Serena up and moving. Take it easy lady, as much as you can! The flowers are just gorgeous! I bet spending time with the flowers helped in some way! Congrats on a another successful market!
Your flower bouquets are sooooooooooo beautiful. If I was at the market, I would have snapped up the two bouquets of white flowers, I thought they were absolutely gorgeous. And your veggies too. I'm so glad for you both that you did well at this market. Very very well deserve for both your very hard work. I wish I have a farm like yours.
Congrats on the best market ever! I don’t know what this says about me, but I always like the bouquets that don’t sell. Serina, sending positive thoughts your way. Please feel better.
Your heartfelt comments about whether you could continue if the fires continue to rage and climate change make that a yearly event really moved me. I hope Serena continues to feel better but she was really suffering even when she was smiling because of her bouquets. Good luck to you both; I sincerely hope your dream can continue.
Serena's flower bouquets are stunning, and for sure being the lucky charm at the market. Happy to know that your are getting some help. The cherry and apricots looked so yummy and you could also sell them as jam. Great footage and editing of videos 👍👍❤
So delighted that Serina is on the mend,, farming looks such hard work, how you find time to pick up the camera and make these videos with music, so professionally done,, you really do deserve all the success,, what gorgeous flowers and veggies for the lucky folk to buy,, well done and thankyou for sharing your journey,, best wishes from the UK, Lisa
Ah so early! Gosh, I tried making a bouquet with flowers from my garden. It went.... Kinda well!?? I didn't have much choice -- One or two echinacea, some coreopsis, shasta daisies, and some Salvia. I envy your bouquets 😍😄... If only I could teleport to the farmers market every market day and buy a buncha stuff and teleport back home in Virginia. Is it just me or does the cherry segment remind me of Pac Man?!? 😂😂😂🤣🤣
Bravo !!!!
What gorgeous bouquets! 💐 Ian, you were melting my heart in the flower room cheering on Serena with her bouquets. You two make a great team. So glad you're doing better Serena! So glad you now have your walk in cooler and your employee to help ease the weekly burden. ❤
Why not ask your viewers if anyone would want to come help out for a little bit during this crunch time. I also watch Roots and Refuge farm, and during their move to a new state, they have a lot of help from viewers and other farming RU-vid families to get theirs new place ready for them. I'm sure the RU-vid homesteading community would turn out for your family as well. I wish I were a little closer so I could do that, but I'm in southern California. God bless you both!
Iam wins the super hero award for the week!! Serina does so much I can't imagine all of a sudden having to pick up her work load too. I wish I were close to you guys I would come help just to help out. We have been suffering through 100 - 108 degrees every day for a month straight. I've list 100's of plants. Hang in there
Congrats on the best market! Take good care, Serena (Ian too). We had bad smoke days last year (probably will this year also). My throat would get scratchy after a short walk. I can’t imagine working outdoor. I hope it doesn’t get much worse and that your masks are effective!
