Things I did not expect to do today: Get high, watch the Bush Bee Man, and find myself ordering a kilogram of redgum honey from Australia. I regret none of them.

@@TheBushBeeMan Man, it was. Woke up the next morning, still no regrets. Now that it's 3 days later, my only regret is that it takes time for things to ship and travel! Excited to try this red gum honey. I've only ever really had clover honey from supermarket-branded jars of honey, so having honey I know is unadulterated from a beekeeper as jovial as Mark and is from a tree I didn't even know existed until this video is something I'm super looking forwards to.

I was almost yelling at my computer "light the hessian from the bottom its cooler smoke and works better that way" but you worked it out Phew ! This has the Quote of the year "Two heads are better than one even if one of the heads is a donkey!" HA HA HA Every video i learn something and getting a laugh(s) as well BUT Also have the same Beek problem i see something in the video and go... hmm might need to buy X or Y... keep the videos coming great work loving them !

If you buy honey in the supermarket there is a fair chance its adulterated with either sugar water or chinese imports.

Gday mate i just live up the road from the hive works in lonsdale , had a look at that honey paw and you would have to be doing some serious honey extraction to justify the price ,i rekon id just stick with the cheapo knife for one hive but i could see how it would make your life a lot easier .

Just a tip. I use a Makita battery operated blower to remove the last bees from the combs before putting the combs in the box to take them to the honey extracting room.

I have adapted the makita battery blower into a bucket bee vac with some pvc and a laundry hose works a treat and its dual purpose

Thank you for this video. Out of my abundant need for information can you tell me why you decided to keep the nests so close together? Is this a convenience decision? Does it harm your production? Just about everything I've read said to put them 3-5 feet apart.

If you need to get some good points in with your wife . You should use a uncapping knife to cut the caps off your comb . That makes top grade wax and she will have more wax to do her candles etc .

Hiya, just curious why do you take the frames loaded with honey out and leave the box empty and later bring back those empty frames instead of replacing those loaded frames with new empty frames at the same time. That will save you a 2nd trip of going back to those hives right?

Does your honey ship to the USA? I went to the website and saw there can be restrictions depending on where it is going. Is USA good? And how much is shipping to USA? I am looking at a kilogram tub if it is allowed

How many gives do you have? And how much honey do you harvest? I went from 2 nucs to 5 hives last year. 4 went into winter and are all still doing well as of last week. I'm hoping to get to 10 hives at the end of our Texas summer 2019.

45 , wow! I recently read that Australia was hit by a record heat wave and was hoping that you guys-and your bees and almonds- weren't in an affected area. How are the ladies handling that kind of heat?

They don't like it to much the Bees spends most afternoon carting water to try and cool the hive but all and all they are ok thanks for your concern

45 degrees....as Canadian, I think I'd spontaneously combust if I stepped outside in that heat. 12-16 is so optimal. I think 25 degrees is too warm -_-

John or Mark, I went to the web page to see about ordering some Redgum Honey and neither of the sizes indicated the what kind of honey it was 🤔 We would like to try some of the redgum :) Shipping is 2 times the amount of the Honey lol lol

We're not too far away in victoria and we use the foil wrapped and tec screwed to the pallet theyre on it does help them but nothin beats the shade

I agree shade is the best but sometimes that's in short supply, did you need to wait the pallets down on windy days?

@@TheBushBeeMan we have 6 hives emlocked to a chep pallet so we can fork them around, the foil is from shed insulation rolls we simply tec screw a 5x5cm sheet metal washer to 4 corners of the pallet, just have to remember to take the drill when we go to inspect.

Its ~11am on Sat, just got a knock on the door. Who might it bee? A delivery chap with some sweet sweet honey. I used up the last of mt bread last night, so now I *have* to get on my deadly treadly and get more, just so I can have some toast ... for Lunch. lol. Thank the girls for their tireless work to make our days better.
