THE LONG AWAITED HARVEST FINALLY HAPPENED!
Impressive harvest today of ultra-flaky castings. I could not be happier. A few worms, but very minimal considering the big move my worms had a few months ago from Version 1 into the upgraded Version 2.
The harvest panel with inner liner and drawstring works perfectly. Easy opening and closing, no caked-up castings muddying the zipper panel. The entire harvest took less than 5 minutes. What more could ai ask for?
Looking to harvest every 3-4 weeks going forward... hold me to it!
FEEDING:
After banging down the level of compost in the bag, I added just a small amount of dried cardboard and a nice healthy (frozen) feeding to encourage the worms to stay up top. I am not too concerned with the moisture since the system is running so well I think it can handle it. We will see if it was a bad idea not to cover the scraps more... what do you think?
