This is so ridiculous. Miami has been shafted by shoddy officiating for over two decades but now that people think they are benefiting from bad officiating there needs to be reform?!?! Ok!!!! No one said a word when the officials overturned the call of Miami’s player being down against Georgia Tech and the replays clearly showed that he was down and they still said that it was a fumble.
Why aren’t these refs ever held accountable? They should be in these post game interviews, they get paid good money and should have to answer some questions.
@dutchschaefer4983 right? Why are these refs always wrapped in bubble wrap? Coaches, players, GMs, owners get fired when they mess up, refs get PROMOTED! When asked about it the refs will at least let you know what they are thinking and if they are a good ref or not.
@@TherealboatboyIf a referee or player is in on the fix people would throw a wad at it. Today's gambling is booming with prop bets and that's what I think is easy to cheat and get away with it. Can't throw big money on something and not bring scrutiny.
It's always been bad. Look at 2014 Ohio state at Penn state. OSU 'picked off' a pass. It was reviewed and shown that the ball clearly hit the ground first, but the replay booth was down so the officials didn't see that. So the pick stayed and psu lost the challenge and then a tight game. Why do we have replay booths that don't have all angles? Why do people at home have a better view than refs? It's so dumb that with advancing technology and lenses everywhere, we still rely on 5-6 humans. Human eyes that aren't all 20/20, and humans make a ton of mistakes too. The game is too important, get rid of these bad calls, let the kids determine the best team.
I know they got their teeth kicked in but the committee is very fortunate that the 4-Team playoff was done away with or else that FSU decision would’ve set a very bad precedent
These conference officials know what their daddy wants. They don't have to have a secret meeting. They know by the number of games they're allowed to officiate. ACC and the SEC are the most notorious. They protect the fatted calf with the best chance to get in the playoffs.
Get’um Brando! I’m afraid if the “decision makers” don’t fix the NIL & transfer portal BS in addition to these other issues they were discussing within 5 years college football will be a”hot mess”. College football is my all time favorite sport but if it isn’t cleaned up soon I won’t be able to enjoy it anymore. If that’s the case I will quit watching it and I believe millions of fans will do the same. 😢
I tell you something none of the 4 of you ever saw in the sec in your life. A controversial call go South Carolinas way. Been getting screwed by the sec since 1992 and still going strong.
Dont be short sighted. College refs are part time and want to be full time and have a union. Baseball umps threw calls when they were lobbying for a replay ump at every game meaning hundreds of promotions for their minor league brothers. College refs will get better when their demands are met.
Get rid of sports betting and you'll solve maybe a 3rd of the problem Put an actual 12 team playoff and not a ratings based setup and you'll solve the other 2/3.... It's all a popularity contest of who will bring in the money
Betting should be implemented in a way that is high-class and above board. If a team with connections to such things wants to open up a high-end hotel and casino, for instance, and a sports book of their own, they should be able to do so, as long as a separate account line is opened with no comingling of funds aside from a yearly distribution back to the main university.
I agree the officiating has been atrocious and needs fixing quickly, like he said above I’m more so talking abt a rant Brando has about Kirby. Which to Kirby’s end everything Brando has issues with was warranted all week with how they talked Texas up.
I think most refs are honest. I'm sure some are corrupt and used to keep the conferences big money team in a good spot. Look back at Colorado's 5 down TD against Mizzou I think. Or Notre Dame's bogus clipping/block in the back call on the game winning punt return against Georgia Tech resulting in the 2nd most bogus National Champions with Colorado and GT sharing it. The only worse one was BYU beating a 6-6 Michigan team in a bowl to win the National Title. Most refs are just incompetent because they aren't professional and there is no accountability for their actions.
Officiating is worse, because they have situated themselves right in the forefront of every game and they sometimes appear to have an agenda. Officials miss calls, that has always been true. However, more than ever, take over games and determine the winner. I would watch this, but pretty sure Brando's take will be pretty bad.
"Don't get me started on Kirby" Oh shut up Tim. Your half brain takes are the worst. My only issue with this channel is when they bring on Josh Pate and Tim Brando for their garbage takes.
