Has Ego Already SELECTED Isagi as the Winner of Blue Lock? 

It’s no coincidence that when Ego gave his initial speech to the Blue Lock players he used Isagi’s precise failure to illustrate his point about ego.

I think Ego's plan is to actually create the whole japanese team not just the striker although the striker is like the crown jewel of the team because we are seeing characters like gagamaru receiving offers as a goalkeeper and playing goalkeeper and i dont see him going back to a striker. Maybe Ego's plan is creating the whole team with his philosophy, an ultra aggresive soccer where everybody is trying to shine and be the protagonist of their story, some by scoring goals others by defending or counterattacking like niko and where even the defenders can score goals by making counters.

Like you said I believe Ego sees himself in Isagi or a version of himself which has the potential to succeed where he failed. Even if it is not something he is aware of of Ego will always have a bias for Isagi, he is the embodiment of his ideology.

I think he best embodies the ideals of ego’s philosophy and noa also said that he’s very similar to how jinpachi used to be. Since ego probably lost his career due to injury he’s living vicariously through isagi to make him into the striker he failed to be.

I still dont think there's supposed to be a number one winner of blue lock, i think Ego uses that as motivation for the players and its a continuous thing. Every year there could be new candidates as new players come of age. By making everyone think only one person can win they will all ultimately try so hard he will just have a team of worldclass players.

My theory is without even really reading the manga and based of anime and couple spoilers I’ve seen you have to remember ego was looking for the biggest egoist not the best player. There’s a difference and this manga differentiates between technically sound and the ones who want it more than anything else when they play. There’s good players and great players but then there’s stand alone players that don’t come around often. Ego was trying to engineer one based off already good players or had the potential to become greater. I hear ego was a player and that would ultimately confirm my suspicions that he must of gotten injured of was rejected when trying to play for the international team if he ever made it pro and even that’s sketchy due to build so maybe a defect genetic or regressive injury.

This theory is the same as the one I made previously. Like from the neo egoist league, bachira is the successor of lavinhos ideals and barou is the successor of Snuffy's ideals. Isagi is the successor of ego's ideals. Isagi is the only player personally handpicked by ego! Also if even noa can tell that isagi is exactly like ego, ego himself would have known it. I feel that ego has been silently putting obstacles in isagis way. For example the wildcard kunigami. Kunigami would have done way better if he was put in manshine but why did the author put him in bastard. It's so that isagi can learn and devour the copy of noa. Isagis physicality still has a lot of potential and that can be gained from devouring kunigami

i would like to point out that ego has this aura around him which i think represent a chain like the ones we see in the covers of the manga this aura represent that he's trapped or obsessed by creating the best striker in the world, if u didnt notice every character kinda has their own aura which represents something like isagi's puzzles , he's always trying to figure out how to beat his opponent/always trying to adapt or rebuild himself to win in the situation so yh.

I don't think that Ego specifically chose Isagi. I think that Isagi just represents exactly what Ego has always envisioned. Ego created Blue Lock to find someone like Isagi and hone their abilities. He wanted to round up all the top high school players and find someone who can make his dream come true and Isagi just happen to fit the parameters he was looking for.

Personal judgement but since the noel noa said that "so that's why he chose you" to isagi and he also said that Isagi and Ego has the same mindset maybe Ego noticed his old self manifesting on isagi and that's why he chose him. Overall, I think there is no winner but the so called "Winner" titled is something that keeps the players have a challenge and not stagnated.

I was concidering it too. I started to question this early on and realised something else while it. Why does Ego comment things on the team issagi is? Does he do this with each team? His motives seem to be half and half. I think he does hope that isagi will be the one but also doesn't compleatly rely on it. I think it's an intresting theory. (And also yeah I realised that there weren't any other players in other buildings cuz of this before it was revealed).

I don't doubt he seems more in Isagi's potential than most but he said before, he wants strikers who can devour the others. So far we have seen people be copycats or evolve their own styles which is through their own talents however Isagi is the only person who took Ego by those words first and "devoured" his allies and enemies abilities.

I personally feel that blue lock transcended the "battle royale" format, I don't think that there will be a winner at this point in the manga, since I just can't see a system of elimination as direct as before, it's like ego is just now training them, for all of them become world-class strikers or even players in general, I mean just considering the fact that many players have "abandoned" their position as strikers in the field, now taking new positions, I feel that would be of that ego even allows that, considering his original objective

I think Igarashi also falls into this category. As being the ranked below Isagi and also making it further and further, there is probably a reason why. He keeps advancing but we don’t see the things he does as a striker to advance. It makes me curious.

I think Ego is giving everyone an equal chance to become the world's best striker not just the blue lockers but also the U-20 team striker. Characters like Isagi, Nagi, Reo, baro, shidou and Rin are all competing for the title of worlds best it can be argued that isagi is ahead of them as such he is getting favoured by Ego but the competition is still on going

I feel that it's more like Ego is extremely biased towards Isagi and has set him up for success as much as possible. Because if, at any point in Blue Lock, Isagi had lost and been kicked out of the program, Ego would've just been disappointed, but ultimately move on to focusing on his top performers.

Isagi still has a long way to become the best in blue lock, he lacks techniques and physical abilities.

Ego wants a player with the Physicality of Noel and the Football IQ of Ego. Isagi with Meta vision is on the verge of meeting the bare minimum of that criteria.

Spoiler's ahead: Noel Noa already said that ego really picked Isagi, I just don't know if it's at the very start or not. But that's for sure that Isagi might be the strongest striker from the very start and his destiny to awaken is already set in stone, that's why ego said at ep 1 that it is based on biased analogy, and put Isagi at the very last to install the system of "flow" to him which is explained in vs U20 arc, that in order to achieve "flow" the thrill must be set. And this is the very story of Isagi, Idolizing Nagi, Barou, Chigiri, etc. then surpassing them at every selections.

How is it a surprise Ego has a "strikercrush" for Isagi? But to invest his own future in 1 kid with so much variables is to much off a gamble and i refuse to believe that is what Ego did. Yea it’s a tough one when talking about it Isagi deserves to win the competition part of Blue Lock since he started out at a much lower level than some of the other players and has spend the whole manga catching up. As far as growth no one can compete with Isagi but Rin and Shidou + Bachiru are still just better overall than him so it’s hard to justify.

Im pretty sure ego subconsciously wanted isagi to become the striker of the blue lock team since they had similar playstyles with meta vision and protagonism, but even if isagi dropped out in phase 1 if his teammate didnt foul nagi and cause him to not score, ego wouldn’t really care all that much since there are players like Rin, Barou, Niko who is walmart Isagi, and Shidou: the purest striker of the entire blue lock roster who can replace isagi easily, considering Rin is basically Isagi if he could run faster and shoot better
