Has KPOP's Big 3 Changed? 

although i do agree those things were concepts used in western media + Jpop. BTS really paved the way for kpop. making categories at award shows opening the world of kpop and even korean culture to different people. SM defo made alot of the ideas and concepts known to kpop but in reality all of it was pulled from the west and well mainly jpop. kpop isnt really old and it wasnt exactly popular at all. in korea and around east asia yeah but globally to actually open more chances and more factors to the industry since it has not changed in a while , only group that actually made that happen was BTS. and so on kpop opened up to more etc. i dont think there is a big three anymore since SM JYP and YG have all been heavily over-shadowed. while they still will be known as the early days of kpop more companys and labels have the chance to become big if not bigger. and thats all thanks to HYBE. bts changed kpop ALOT. its not all concepts its also marketing fashion and even the music itself. HYBE and BTS have changed it all which is why the big three aren't the big 3 anymore. even sm made a video about HYBES "takeover" its all proof the big 3 have been overshadowed. currently HYBE is the biggest company therefor the big 3 arent the big 3 no longer.

Nah there will always be a big three which is SM/YG & JYP. Hybe isn't a big three material. ​@@sasukeisemo

@@sorntrash It's not the big 4. Hybe never wouldn't be anything without BTS. If BTS flopped, Hybe would've shut down. Imagine if BTS were not world-widely successful, but were still popular, other groups debuting under hybe wouldn't have gotten the same amount of popularity. Meaning that Bts would be the only group popular and the others who debut after wouldn't. Like saying the company had one popular group but their others flopped. BTS's world wide success helped the company become more popular. Without BTS hybe would be nothing. But if you look at the big 3, they've had multiple groups who got popular in their own way. SM had the first girl group S.E.S (Who I guess were popular), they then had groups like SHINee, SNSD, EXO etc. get popular too in their own ways. If you debuted under HYBE now, it's instant success thanks to BTS, but if you look before BTS, like at Hybe (big hit's) girl group GLAM, they didn't have any popularity. HYBE only started getting more popular due to BTS in the later years of their career, but YG, SM & JYP are some of the OG companies who've been getting more recognized since way before BTS. But the reality of things is that, it's not about Popularity only. The big 3 were the original 3 companies to make an impact (the big 3 were different companies before, but the others failed actually). Hybe can never be Big 3 making it the Big 4, because they were never there since the beginning impacting kpop. It was only in their later years, and without BTS, hybe wouldn't have survived, but in the big 3 like YG for example, without 2NE1, Bigbang can still survive. All the groups under Hybe and Hybe's sublabel are because of what BTS did for the company. They're the Hybe helpers and without them there would be no TXT, ILLIT, LESSERAFIM, NEWJEANS, ENHYPEN. Heck, there wouldn't be no hybe, because bighit would be a forgotten label who didn't make it far. Edit: I'm not a hybe hater. I'm a realistic thinker who knows the big 4 can never be a thing, because people just wanna include hybe because of their popularity, when being popular doesn't automatically make you big 3 material.

It’s always been about who the leading companies were and now Hybe is a leading company so it makes it the Big 4 now. i said specifically in 3rd gen, there is no doubt in 3rd gen SM was part of the big3 and hybe did not become the umbrella company it is now with MULTIPLE big groups other than BTS until 4th gen and near the end of the 3rd gen.
