They did it to themselves bad quality, price increases, whack releases, limited supply, and narrow toe boxes killed it for me. People are struggling right now 125+ for a shoe look a lot different than it used to.
Nike adding $5 increments slowly is killing them. Some of my friends struggled paying 180 for some shoes now they giving their business to other companies.
The truth is the market has reset its self from the sneaker market inflation of 2020 - 2022. Resale is dead so now everything is back sitting again. IMO it’s good for us we get all the grails that they are panic releasing for retail. Covid and resale culture is what had every jordan 1 selling out. People were paying $300 plus for panda dunks 😢. Let’s just count our blessings they stepped on the resale market I hope they keep going.
I was a sales associate at Foot Locker from ‘01 through ‘07 (Chicago area). Air Force Ones (lows) were $69.99 (mids were $74.99). The first price increase was by $5 a little before Nelly dropped his song in ‘02. Thereafter, the price went up another $5 and stuck for a while. Hard to believe how much they are today…
People used to argue about what shoes looked better, now they argue about what ones they could sell for more money. It's going to take a few years of new sneakerheads getting into the game, building collections out of all these "bricks".
Nike better retro the Yeezy line if they’re trying to bring back the hype & get back into the fight, lol. You see Adidas dgaf and look at how much revenue and attention it’s brought them by releasing everything they have in their inventory in their Yeezy collab despite no longer working with Kanye.
Just from being online I’ve seen people fall in love with all these new collaborations, but honestly retro Nikes are so hard to surpass because the styles were so unique. I really feel like Nike refuses to just make a retro brand or store it will literally set the streets on fire
I feel you bro, I have never owned a all white pair of Air Force ones😅. I have plenty of Air Force ones just not the all white ones lol. The closest I had was the Rasheed Wallace patent leather and Carolina blue lol
Half of y'all should work for Nike the way y'all hype up sneakers and call em bricks like it's y'all business dudes be making these companies rich reviewing kicks y'all weird
Bro, I am right there with you, I have a variety of different shoes outside of Nike/Jordan. I actually gave all my Jordan away when I turned 22 years old. I am glad I grew out that phase.
All they gotta do is give us the rare stuff they already giving us the “undefeated 4s” give us all the rare stuff that’s going for thousands in the resell market and all the Yeezy Nikes. That’s what I would do if I ran Nike
Bro I just bought my first pair of new balances, I never thought that I would do that , I’ve been rocking Nikes and Jordan’s since 89, and no lie I’m feeling these nb’s , and they were only 150 ,j’s are 215 and 225 now ,Damn
I never bought a pair of white AF1s either I preferred the black(had those in low, mids, and Highs)😅😅😅😅 I did cop a all white Fila FX 100 mid tho, wore those once but still not a fan of white shoes, those was a Grail.
They gone have to flood the streets like crack in the 80s with Kobe’s lol kill the resale market!..retro all the 2010svbasketball shoes, elite packs etc
They're basketball line has become very basic. Besides the GT stuff it's basketball been mesh and synthetic upper, forefoot zoom and low top. Freak 5, Ja 1, Sabrina's, KD trey 5 X, and GT cut academy all have the same tech but at different prices.
I fucked with Dunks and Airmax because they had a vintage look when i first got into shoes. But honestly Adidas and New balance have better and cheaper models. Not to mention they crush them in comfort.
Hype beast getting overated now just buy what you like .let's be realistic mf dnt like the shoe like that really let it hype behind it.just like what you really like .
Nike has rung every penny from their customer base and that includes the average consumer. They have alienienated the average shopper that is their bread and butter at they have focused on the draining the sneakerhead dry. People that just need sneakers for everyday wear and for their kids have resorted to trying other brands. Now that they have tried other brands, good luck getting them to come back. I have bought 0 Nikes in 2024.
how about not shut down the adapt app and pissing off your customers but my collection is near the end and I am out of space with these shoes so it is about to be over with me
an that’s why there failing because they always been that new thing an other brands have been in the shadows an now that those brands have stepped out the shadows its making those other brands look fresh and innovated but are they really
