Today we'll take a deep dive and learn about this legendary troop in Clash of Clans. That's none other than P.E.K.K.A, she's one of the first troops in Clash of Clans so she's been here for over a decade which is pretty nice. PEKKA known for her strength and absolute brute force capability. PEKKA is very good for various purpose and will smash any defenses that are in her way. But a lot of newer troops are coming, and they are offering even more benefit, not just high hp and damage they also come with unique abilities that can bring advantage in the battle. So today we'll compare PEKKA with the newer troops like electro titan, super dragon, yeti and many unique large troops to see if PEKKA still relevant until these days. Let's see and enjoy!

that only works for lower town halls. It doesn't work at th12 and higher. At th12 or higher you are WAY better of making funnels with warden walk for example.

In general many pekkas tend to be rather weak as they easily overkill buildings while most newer troops have some special effects that make them a lot better when spammed

Not only that, but because of PEKKA’s lack of splash damage, skeleton traps can easily ruin her. Splash damage is often a critical aspect when dealing with bases, especially when CC troops and skeletons get involved.

the point with electro dragon is that 1: the more defenses you add, the more his value grows. 2: with rage spell, a single e-drag can one shot multiple buildings. 3: with some test baloons, GW and a couple rage spells E-drag can 3 star most bases effortlessly. on its own it's not that great, but it's easier to buff than other troops

The thing with edrags is that the chain effect is really easy to counter by not putting your defenses right next to each other. It has been a long time since Ive been 3 starred by edrag spam. It also makes your heros significantly worse since they have no support. I find that edrags tend to die out before they can get to the back half of the base, and if the base has any heros left standing, youre screwed. Ofc this is mainly for war, since who cares about mp unless youre in legends, but I also dont see any top legends players spamming edrags.

1st: cool voiceover! 2nd: pekka isn’t obsolete, but she’s not meant for spamming. She’s a good tank with a perfect blend of offends and Defense. Think of her as a dps golem. You don’t spam golem, do you? So she’s not obsolete, but rather an effective tool if deployed skilfully.

That's her problem tho. Defensively, housing space only a tad bit lower than golem and doesn't do tanking as good as him cause she doesn't target defenses Offensively, her hits are single target and slow while all others have fancy aoe damage. I'd say valks are a better blend of those

all of these defenses were clumped together, giving the elctro troops an advantage. Also, pekkas are great for distracting defenses from other lower health troops

Nice video with nice voice-over. In this age of edrag span i have clanmates (th 12,13,14)who still do ground attacks using pekka. And they 3 star for sure. They normally dont do air attacks, and are on god level in terms of ground attacks. Their war attacks are my favorite to watch till this date. In short pekka-wiz was their go to troop in 2015, and it is still now their go to troop in 2023

I used pekka smash a lot at th14, but at th15 the titans are just better. Hopefully when the pekka get their 10th level pekka smash with super wizards will be viable again

I only used pekka until i discovered the Drag-Loon strategy. even now, at almost a maxed out TH13, I've just replaced the dragons with E-drags, but the strat is the same. 9 lightening spells to take out 3 air defs, spread out edrag on the quadrant with the last AD, heroes all together, loons all at the same time closest to the air defense and warden to give them more health. 1 rage on the TH and surrounding area and warden ability right before the loons/heroes/edrags have destroyed TH. Works like a charm, 80%+ guaranteed with maxed out troop levels against TH14 and under

Not obsolete imo. Some strategies require you to be efficient in taking a certain portion of the base or defeat & then get out of the middle as soon as possible. Sometimes, depending on the situation, PEKKA would be the perfect pick for that efficiency.

Usando apenas pekkas ou apenas yetis não dá para perceber o quão obsoleta a pekka ficou, isso os causa que em ataques a vilas usamos outras tropas junto, nesse caso lançadores, super arqueiras, heróis etc destroem as construções antes que as pekkas tenham tempo de causar dano, então ficam servindo apenas como tanks, e a titã elétrica é melhor nisso, pois tem mais HP e causa dano em área, os yetis também são melhores nisso por causa dos yetinhos. Então acho que a pekka precisa ser reformulada, aumentar a velocidade que ela troca de alvo melhoraria muito (ficando mais parecida com os heróis, eles não ficam parados por 1 segundo depois de seu alvo ser destruído), reduzir o tempo de dar o primeiro hit ao chegar a uma construção também faria mais pessoas usarem pekkas, mas só adicionar novos níveis também seria bom

pekka should get a super troop variation that changes it from one troop to say 5 mini pekka’s for 25 deploy space. similar to how troops in clan capital deploy as a group like archers, minions & raid cart. knowing super cell they could balance this to be better for clearing wide amounts of space and keeping the whole idea of what pekka always was best at. high hp and high damage so with more mini pekka’s the damage raises a lot in total being maybe slightly shy of the original by say 20% but the hp would only be cut in half for each. meaning 2 mini pekka’s would be able to take on one regular pekka and the whole troop would be brought back in the light of use. even if its just a super troop variation.

No troops in home village is deployed in squad. Squad deployment is sometimes quite annoying, when troops deployments are limited, like you want to have 3 sneaky archer to destroy a single spear thrower, but you always waste 5. You just need a single minion for a cannon, but you must use 10 housing space. It also makes you unable to utilise new spaces after a building is taken.

The main drawback nowadays is her lack of utility (which you pointed out). When ground skeleton traps activate or multiple enemy clan castle troops attack pekka, she loses instantly due to her slow attack speed, whereas Yeti can power through due to his reasonable attack speed, and as he suffers damage his yetimites can still destroy defenses, and a single electro titan just walks through hundreds of skeleton traps without taling damage. Ultimately, I love P.E.K.K.A., but she is slowly becoming obsolete. If you're running an army that lacks in dps, you can run her, but otherwise every other large troop holds some advantage over her.

Sorry if it hurts but PEKKA has gone obsolete long time ago, and the release of monolith just killed this troop's viability with no mercy. PEKKA has terrible AI, rage spell can boost her significantly, but raged PEKKA becomes hard to predict and control, the same case of valkerie. Valkeries also have terrible AI, but she is good at taking out some ground cc troops and skeleton traps, so it is sometime relevant to bring one to three valk, while there is just no reason to bring one PEKKA.

I run 2 PEKKAs in my main attack strat. It's not the best in the world by any means but I can at least 2 star any base I come across. I use them early behind 2 Ice Golems to help clear the way to the Town Hall. They're basic in use but so strong in stats.

This quinda makes me sad to know that it has become obsolete I still remember from way back in the day I think 2016~ 2018~ around that time when I used to play the game with friends and one of them the highest level one he was level 7 had gotten nearly completedly destroyed by a singular PEKKA I didn't know what it nor how it looked so from my perspective at the time I simply remember it has something feared that if I had advanced far enought it would destroy me. It feelt different it felt like it was something mystical unlike today where I simply see it has yet another troop I missed the feeling old PEKKA gave me. Ps:the PEKKA was likely high level although this is pure speculation from my part In terms of its level

I stopped using pekkas since townhall 8 (currently completely maxed 12). These guys are not viable in titan league or higher leagues anymore except if you do a Pekka smash (which heavily relies on the super wizards). I'd say I would take super dragons and e giants over Pekka in any war situations.

E Giant isn't in coc. Btw Electro Titan might be considered smth alike, but she is th 14 troop. Better tanking ability comes to golem or giant (if you are really able to use giant)

Actually, skeleton traps should also join. Miners are also bad against this trap, but they aren't affected by walls. Defenses targetting troops ignore skeletons, but one pack of skeleton won't hurt much. One skeleton trap is enough to stall a hugr army of PEKKA for significant time.

i use P.E.K.K.A and KING to clear outside buildings for the queen and healers to go to the town hall and they survive!

Not neccessary air defending cc troop. Witch, archer, headhunter cc, defending archer queen and royal champion cause enough troubles when you use PEKKA.

I always loved PEKKA but I have to be honest after th 12 it becomes very hard to get any value out of it. She is a single target has a very slow move and attack speed which makes her very bad to use as a main force for the attack and if you need a tanking troop super giants Yeti ice golems and golems are just better. It's one of those troops that helps you early on but loses value the more you progress in the game like Valk giant and bowler.
