The funny thing for me is that my mom say to love myself but she be the same one to make colorist coments and jokes about my skin color (and she the same skin tone as me) and then my brain be like wtf
@@ferlawolf7644 That's the same with my filipino mom. She be shaming dark skinned ppl for being ugly, such as myself, and finds white or light skinned ppl beautiful
As asian myself, some of my friends who have fox and cat eyes got called "cat fishing/asian fishing" for having them and got mocked for it... but if anyone else doing it they're cute???? What?
As a person who is black, I’m absolutely infuriated with these people. I don’t even think these people know how much we actually struggle with the color of our skin everyday.. disgusting.
Here's the thing. People think Leigh JUST called out Jesy for blackfishing when that is so FALSE! Jesy was approached with the issue way before she left the group. So yeah, it seems as though Jesy just does not care because she's been doing this since... I wanna say the Glory Days era (that album came out in 2016, btw)
I've always been mixed about this topic. I hate it when people make fun of or try or allow people to think they are black or East Asian. But tanning or wearing kawaii clothes is absolutely fine if you don't count yourself as East Asian. I don't tan because it isn't good for your skin and I can't use fake tan because I react to it. However, if you want to get a tan BECAUSE YOU WANT A TAN, then I feel like that is absolutely fine. I would also like to say that in the UK where I'm from, a lot of people with lighter skin try to tan to look like they've been on holiday However I do wear kawaii clothes. I love wearing them and often feel a lot more confident when wearing them. However, I am not trying to look East Asian or Japanese, I am trying to look cute in the way I want to. And no, I don't wear fox eyeliner but it's absolutely fine liking it, it's when you use it to try to look East Asian (and in my opinion, you always fail miserably). I think an Asian RU-vidr said that and I really agree with it! Fox eyeliner is not my kind of Kawaii but if it is yours (but you are not trying to look East Asian) I think its absolutely fine. But that is my idea, what do you think?
I really agree 100%. I'm afraid of how the term "blackfishing" and "asian-fishing" can be overused and can be his juged. If someone is wearing eyeliner then they shouldn't get called out for "asian-fishing" or if you have gotten a tan then you shouln't get called out for "black-fishing". I fell that unless you know what your doing is offense and has malaise intent then it's ok
@@gabrielmiller8636 exactly I’m not African American or part of that race (I’m sorry if I’ve offended anyone with my words) but impersonation exists regardless of the race.
Blackfishing is wrong. But at the same time, I’m Latina and I’m whiter then paper, but if I tan all summer, I can get extremely dark. Not to the point where someone would think I’m mixed but really tan. And clearly there’s a fine line between naturally tan and tryna change your race !
“Has The Blackfishing On TikTok Gone Too Far?“ I would like to answer this (even though no one asked me to). Honestly, black fishing has always crossed the line. And it really does suck SO MUCH, that some people on TikTok do this. (It’s also sad that I’m not even surprised that people do it. It’s that bad.)
As an Asian person, i find it very disrespectful that people do Asian fishing and some Asians don't look like Chinese, Korean, Japanese and ect. because I'm from Pakistan which is an Asian country and people always stereotype Asian people to be Chinese, Korean, Japanese.
For Katya's situation they/them weren't lying when they said they are Russian and Chinese. They did a DNA test in one of their videos and even showed childhood pictures. They are what they claim it to be . Anna is wrong
@@Shorts-yl6og even if they are 12% chinese doesnt mean they cant asian fish They are majorly white and they look that way Asian fishing is about the white thingy u put under your eye to change its shape
I have no words! What all these people are doing is disgusting and horrible. All these people should be proud of themselves and where they are from and stop pretending that they are asian and black. What these people are doing is called jealousy and envy and it really is a shame. Because each of these people are beautiful and I say it and I support it ALL with capital letter WE ARE ALL HUMAN, WE ARE ALL BEAUTIFUL IN OUR OWN SKIN and WE ARE ALL UNIQUE!
For Katya's situation they/them weren't lying when they said they are Russian and Chinese. They did a DNA test in one of their videos and even showed childhood pictures. They are what they claim it to be. Anna is wrong
I don't think that most of them do it out of jealousy or envy, because that would be illogical. They simply find tan skin (of course they should not be going overboard with tanning) or plump lips beautiful. I don't know, I am probably wrong. But for example, in the recent years I started doing soft foxy eye look, because this type of liner really compliments my eye shape, but I would never think of it as asianfishing, because it is not my intention... I don't know, what are your opinions on this?
@@emilevika8621 + features arnt owned by a race, anyone can have them really. Some features are just more commen in a certain race, like plumbed lips, foxy eyes, blue eyes, straight/curly hair, etc.
Excuse me Ana, can u actually show us how she is asian fishing instead of showing us people in the internet saying she is one? I’m asian, and I literally see no problem with Katya.
as a black woman what nicki said was so ignorant and dissapointing and i would've expected it from literally ANYONE but her. shes supposed to be the voice of black woman but now i see she only sticks up for us when its beneficial. i dont see why yall still support her after that
Nicki also defended 6ix9ine.. 🤢🤮 So it doesn’t really surprise me when she comes back with another garbage take at this point, she’s just gross. She doesn’t speak up for other women, other WOC, literal children, or anyone else when it doesn’t benefit her.. sad to see it.
some of us from asia gets made fun of for our slanted eyes, while suddenly it's a trend. they can take it all of at the end of the day while we had them our entire lives. same goes to our last names, it's something that most of us get made fun of our entire life, suddenly everyone is using them for usernames. asia is not just china, korea, and japan. there are indonesia, philippines, india, malaysia, thailand, myanmar, laos and many more. most people here doesn't even know these tiktokers exists. I'm speaking from someone who is from asia
Me, having a date after a long time: *random talki talki to get know each other* Her: Maybe it's a little bit weird, but I really like Asian people (big red flag btw) Me: oh okay nice perfect I'm from Kazakhstan hello hello Her:...i mean the other Asian.. So like from korea or Japan.. Me: 👁️👄👁️ 👉🧠 u drop this.
I have been a mixer for years and this came i was so confused but disappointed i was waiting for anna to do a video about this situation ever since it started to become very serious and the hate these girls were getting and i would aslo like to thank anna for not causing any drama or fight by putting her personal opinion on these topics
I am a biracial woman who has been accused of Asian fishing despite being partly Asian.I also technically have biracial children I don’t want them to think they can just change race over night thanks so much for this video.
@@bcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyANDz Not sure what you thought you did with this, but black people come in all colors. My mom is fully black, fully AFRICAN as well, and she’s lightskin. Don’t ever try this bs again.
As an asian, it's so annoying that growing up i was made fun of for my more almond shaped eyes and now people are pretending to be us and copying our culture like it's a toy :/
i was kinda shocked when anna started talking about Jessy. i mean, i saw how her skin colour changed a bit, but my dubass fr thought she just did her makeup different. i also think a part of me is just dissapointed since i love little mix ( ik shes not in little mix, but she was for around a decade)
@@thefamiliarofzero7946 literally many of the mixers have thought that as well. How does it make me delusional? She's literally a person who's tanned to the point she looks dark, even darker than leigh tbh.
It dose suck that people think its cool and trendy to "black fish" its very disrespecful to the black community! we need this to stop like yall it isnt cool anymore or was cool.
I can just imagine how dumb it is for people to be making fun of us being asian ANDDDDD… now y’all wanting to be Asian. Make fun of black ppl bc if their skin and y’all over here trying to be black like omg
For Katya's situation they/them weren't lying when they said they are Russian and Chinese. They did a DNA test in one of their videos and even showed childhood pictures. They are what they claim it to be. Anna is wrong
I think her point was about genetics, as white people are incredibly less likely to have deeper skin tones like how black people are incredibly less likely to have straight blonde hair, though both are technically possible. The thing is when people like Nicki use this arguement claiming its a double standard, the internet tries to shoot it down before dissecting it. Or at least that's how I'm looking at it.
For Katya's situation they/them weren't lying when they said they are Russian and Chinese. They did a DNA test in one of their videos and even showed childhood pictures. They are what they claim it to be. Anna is wrong
@Satan’s Spawn she doesn’t look dark that was always her skin tone, if ur in the light and cameras are flashing at u ofc ur gonna look whiter than a snowman
As someone who loves all cultures and loves learning more about them I can't and never will believe people who do this even though I cosplay I never try to make myself look Asian despite the fact that the character is!!!
I'm confused, what's wrong with wanting to be a little more tan? So basically if I get tanned from going to the beach I'm automatically called a Blackfish???? Or am I wrong with where she's going?
that's what I was thinking, isn't blackfishing technically *blackfishing* when someone who isn't black paint their face black to mock black race or to look like their race right? since I didn't see that girl doing anything like that am confused, I hope someone will actually clear my confusion.

Personality I have mixed feelings. You are born into this world with no choice of what cultures or whatever you are. I don’t really understand this whole thing though, why can’t people get spray tans? Why can’t people where different makeup, why do they have to stick to “White” makeup or whatever race you may be, etc. I think that people should just be what they want to be. I also sort of agree with Nicki. I know many girls with fake tans and big lips, but I honestly don’t see the issue. Do what you want with your life and spread kindness, honesty that’s all I can say. (I also get that people take it to far though!)
I really like to see a comment like this with different perspective and I can agree with it for the most part. I myself agree that people have the right to do with what ever they want with there body. But I disagree when you said "How come we let people change there gender then" because, It takes away your message of letting people do what they want. And what I mean by that is that you come across as supporting the idea of being "transracial". Being transracial is: identifying as a different race than the one associated with your ancestry.
race and color is much more than skin deep. It's about heritage, pedigree, tradition and history and struggle. but you could never experience that by just cutting off your penis and replacing it with a vagina or gluing a penis to your vagina.
@PrincesaHadashy ok but i literally said ‘their actions are awful’ bc they are, it’s NEVER ok to misgender someone even if you don’t support their actions.
@PrincesaHadashy no?? it’s transphobic and down right rude to misgender someone even if they aren’t trans/gender queer. tw suicide mention not misgendering someone is just being a decent human and can be suicide prevention as trans youth are more likely to commit suicide if they feel like they aren’t accepted. kayta has done several horrible things but you shouldn’t misgender someone. i feel like that should be common sense.
@PrincesaHadashy it’s literally not that hard to respect someone’s pronouns?? i wouldn’t misgender you or anyone for doing something that offends me. i’ve seen several asian content creators who are extremely hurt and offended by kaytas actions but still respect their pronouns. and as for ‘making up new genders’ just shut up honsetly. why do you have an issue with nonbinary people being proud to be nonbinary? that’s their business how they identify. edit: i’ve never heard anyone say that they’re better than someone else bc they’re genderqueer?
@PrincesaHadashy theyre not doing that? like at all? and thats literal bullshit. it takes nothing to be a decent human being and just respect someones bloody pronouns. there is no reason not to. having your pronouns respected is a right not a privilege
