Has Tipping Culture Gone Too Far?
As someone who used to work in the food service industry, I loved getting tips! But recently, I bought a cup of coffee and a croissant and to my surprise, the minimum tipping option was almost 50% of my total!
Turns out, it’s not just me who’s noticing a “tipping inflation”. In fact, according to the
NY Post article, over 75% of Americans think tipping culture is out of control!
Listen, I appreciate the extra cheddar on my paycheck as much as the next server, but is this sustainable? Are we just tipping ourselves into oblivion? Let's break down this tipping TRIP (Totally Ridiculous Inflation Problem) and see if we can find a happy medium.

What bothers me is that employees would rather get upset at the consumer for not tipping enough rather than being upset at their respective industry for not paying a livable wage.

I 100% agree with you. In montreal some places ask 18% 20% 25% for canadian money it's kind of a lot. in Quebec province taxes are high too we have the Amex Cobalt that gives us 5x points on food and drinks so that could be a small hack for us / looking forward for new videos keep them coming!

A tip is earned for exceptional service, not simply doing one’s job, period. Beyond that, it is at payers discretion.

Tips are only intended for waitresses and strippers because they are paid less than minimum wage (strippers actually do not get paid any wage at all -- they have to pay the owner of the club to use their stage and pay-out the bouncers, DJ, and bartenders, et cetera, out of their tips), and the tips make-up the difference for waitresses to even-out their $2-an-hour wage to at-least equivalent to minimum wage that everybody else in every other industry gets. Fast food workers and coffee shop people already earn a full minimum wage and above, and it is inappropriate for them to request tips on top of their full wage.

I agree on everything that you sead in the video. P.s. when I go to las vegas. I am going to be taking united airlines because I have over 5000 mils on united airlines

I see nothing wrong with tipping. Everyone should. However, if your service is trash then no. You don't get tip.

Counter service is not the same as dining, I get my own food at the counter that’s not a tipping situation. Why not tip the cashier at the grocery store? Why not tip everybody?
