Sunder ji, To update got kushaq 1.5. Its been 3 days of travelling in traffic (Noida Gurgaon) office hours anyone will tell its the slowest traffic possible getting average of 12 ( overall). It's beast waiting to be unleashed but people who crib of traffic forget max speed is 70 ( depends on area).. so cruise it and it gives good average. Have not taken it on highways. Thanks for videos. The fit and finish is awesome- taken a 2024 version. Had it not been your videos and explanation would have not gone for skoda /volkswagen cars. ☺️
Same here although I have a Taigun 1l TSI it is giving somewhere around 15-16 kmpl in city (moderate traffic) and 18-19 kmpl on highway(again moderate traffic) which is a good mileage❤
Here in Bangalore, I see more Taigun/Kushaq on the road than Creta/Seltos twins. I feel people in major metros are finally realising how good these VAG twins are. (I myself drive Taigun Topline 1.0 TC)
In Mumbai however I saw crazy number of Kia Seltos, for every 4-5 cars that pass by there's a Seltos. I guess VAG has not been able to penetrate there as much as the Koreans
The only thing which is stopping Skoda and Volkswagen group from high sales is the poor quality of the interiors . The previous gen cars of VAG group have top notch interiors .
@@Tutelage810 it's not the price it's quantity of customers willing to pay for it . Take an example of fortuner. Its interior is shit but still people are paying 53 lakhs for a 26 lakh car.
I traveled from Noida to Amritsar and also visited the Wagah Border. My Skoda Slavia 1-liter automatic provided me with an impressive mileage of almost 21.5 kilometers per liter. Such fuel efficiency is typically associated with diesel cars rather than petrol ones. I consider myself fortunate for not heeding the advice of those who recommended opting for Maruti or Hyundai (citing better resale value).
Even at the end of their time in India, the Ecosport was still selling nearly 3 to 4k units every month and the Endeavour was selling approx 500 units. These were sustainable numbers if they hadn't invested in the new factory. Also, the collapse of the JV with Mahindra was a huge setback. VW did not repeat these mistakes. They set out with a small goal as the Indian market is highly unpredictable, and frankly this was a do or die shot for them, and it worked. They launched the right cars in the right segment, which of course Ford didn't, who was going after Maruti with the Aspire and Figo.
I remember maruti ad saying kitna deti hai. I hardly saw any ad by VW showing safety or what you show in video by overtaking. Also you made good point VW right now only have rapid, we are missing polo a big time
I have got 21.4 Kmpl in highway with Virus 1.0 TSI MT Petrol Car... highly satisfied. Getting 14-15 Kmpl in Gurgaon city after only 1 service (new car)
Volkswagen Germany should seriously consider to offer Sunderdeepji a management job in Volkswagen India. And I’m serious. This is no sarcastic comment.
Sunderji, VW should do what Triumph did in the Indian market. Speed 400 priced at around 2.3 lakhs, offered the same top notch quality as their high end bikes priced at 10 lakh and above. This bike is selling like crazy. Of Course the tie up with Bajaj helped them a lot.
I was in the car market last month for a Compact SUV (since we already own a Honda sedan). I test drove the Elevate and Seltos. However, did not find either of them exciting enough to seal the deal. I casually visited VW to check the Taigun 1L TSI, and found it so much more fun to drive. The Taigun 1.5L DSG was not available for test drive then, so I requested dealer to send the 1.5L DSG Virtus home next day for a test drive (requested for Virtus only because it was a newer model over the Taigun). Now I am awaiting the delivery of my Virtus 1.5L DSG. The lower sitting position and the spacious boot space of the Virtus made me prefer it over the Taigun. Though the ground clearance is lower than Taigun, it is higher than the other sedans. And the 1.5L DSG was actually pretty more powerful than the 1L TSI and pretty fun to drive. Yes, VW Skoda should get cars across the Spectrum, and hopefully they do it soon. Their cars are so much more fun to drive than the competition.
Just saw the Bharat NCAP test of Safari in which Pole test looked very deadly..That pole was intruding way more inwards..and saw other cars pole test in which ScorpioN performed better than Safari..But the best part is Pole test of Taigun/Virtus was the best..I will suggest to see all these pole tests one by one and compare it and make a dedicated video on it..VW is really pioneer in Safety than Tata and Mahindra
Rocky, such comparisons draw a risk of legal notice because when ratings come out good, then it becomes an opinion & not factual. And if brand finds you bad mouthing against them, with a good reach, they might trouble you legally.
@@SunderdeepSingh Ohh, Didn't know that..But the fact is when if pole is intruding way more inwards then it doesn't mean the car is absorbing the damage but it may cause severe damage to the passengers..
@@sumityadav6421 He’s driving his T-Roc in the video which is 1.5 TSI DSG, What are you even doing here when you cannot even tell the T-Roc and Slavia apart from a clearly visible perspective.
I Totally Agree That VW Group Must Bring SUV or Hatchback Under 4 Meters I Have Worked in VW Showroom As Sales Consultant MQB Platform is Adavnce And Is Flexible i.e They Can Develop Small Cars, But During Training For Taigun & Virtus Both They Said Germans Are Not Intrested In Development of Polo, Hope In Future They give Us The Cars we Indian Enthusiasts want.
Only problem about this car is after sales service recently I purchased a Kushaq and someone touched my car bumper jn bagalpre traffic so i went for a repair they told they will change the bumper set and replace it with new one and even headlight they took almost ten days since headlight was not is stock. Guess what after ten days they did not do paint properly I went two times for repaint after third time they did correctly. Even after that I was not satisfied with their paint quality so in short these cars are good untilm unless no issues comes when u go for service for any kind of issues they will screw us anywaythey charged me almost 60k for these things.
You are actually right they should definitely think to bring a under 12 lac hatch back that will surely make their sales shoot up by multi folds and yes I believe that 2.0 strategy is gradually being fruitful for vw in fact from a my perspective I see atleast 2-4 taigun and kushaqs on the road daily so yes ppl are aware of these cars and know what quality and package is it offering
Bhai, thanks for the detailed explanation. I'm fan of VW and planned to buy Virtus but things didn't get materialised because of the wrong tax calculation. Issue: Tax on Tax Example: Car Mfg Price: 100/- 28% Cess: 28/- 17% GST: 17/- Ex show room price: 145/- 20% State RTA(TS) on ex showroom(145/-): 29/- Total Price: 174/- If the state tax is calculated on mfg price(100/-): 20/- Then total price would be: 165/- Here we are paying tax on tax. If we consider the actual price of the car, the additional amount we are paying tax on tax is huge. If possible please discuss this topic. Also please correct me if I'm wrong.
For BH series as well we may have to pay 12% on ex show room price. What I'm trying to convey is, let it be State or BH series, tax has to be on Mfg price of the car, not on ex show room price.
Ex showroom price = ( Manufacturing price + GST) RTO in BH series for petrol is = 8% if manufacturing price is less than 10 lakh and 10 percent if above 10 lakh I recently purchased 1.0 kushaq ambition (920000+414000)= 1334000 showroom and paid tax on 920000 equivalent to 12267 for 2 years
@@nareshlucky9607 no, for BH there is a clear mandate that road tax should be calculated on invoice price not on exchange price. When I purchased my slavia i payed tax on invoice price, for two years i paid around 17k, including one time charge of 1.5k.
@@sachinpachori6957 Thanks for the explanation bhai. Good that your state has implemented BH series. Our state Telangana not implemented and they are collecting state tax like I mentioned (Tax on Tax). Even though they implemented BH series in future in my state, its not applicable to all users, it is currently limited to only certain professionals.
A very happy Vento user. Tdi. I bought just because my friends recommended VW especially those Mallus who worked abroad and knew its brand value. They used to tell me that in Middle East, VW Skoda is an expensive brand loved by Arabs
There are 250 VW dealers and 180 skoda dealers. On an average, a dealership is selling only 1 car per day. Dealers majority of them will go into losses. If sales are less, service volumes will also be limited.
Agree with most of your points but the easiest way for VW to capture the Individual with 70k, 80k/month salary would be to offer a CNG variant in all its models. They already offer CNG variants in Europe, bringing them to India would be a huge success and open up the car to a lot of people
I was here right after you dropped the video but my phone was acting up, so I couldn't comment earlier 🗿 Although good insights in the video and agree with you saying that VW Skoda should definitely look to cater a much wider customer base for their better growth. Good one Paaji 😊 bas ab hibernation me mat jaaiyega aap😂
Bhaji i want to share a recent story my friends dad was looking for a car in range of 11lakh ,he was weng to see sonet nd nexon bt didn't found any thing interesting in them , as kia dealer didn't treat them good same with tata dealer also , so his son was driving a virtus nd his dad also drive virtus on weekends , so i suggested them to go for tiagun base model , he saw the car nd drive it he got crazy that vw is giving much features then other cars in market nd have better build quality also , so he stick at tiagun nd he increase his budget for it nd bought the in 3 hrs, by profession he is job person nd was big fan of maruti nd after buying taigun he said maruti is making fool of people buying unsafe cars , this what vw has done in 2.0
Wow! That’s an interesting incident. I also do believe that if VAG cars are available in any particular budget, never purchase anything else if you love to drive & understand dynamics.
Why is VW/Skoda not providing 6 airbags from base model. With Hyundai/Kia providing 6 airbags from base and also improved build quality I have this bad feeling that this might hurt their sales. Also interior design, quality and features are no match.
Valid point bhaiya, agar kisi ko tsi ke turbo ki aadat lag jaye wo fir kisi aur engine ko nahi chala pata. Pichle 2 saalo se 2.0 Tsi chalane ke baad ab Mg zs ev ko chala raha hu uske jaisa fun sirf mujhe Zs ev h de payi
If the growth of our country continues may be we see other brands coming back. Par abb electric ka chakar padh Gaya hai. But good to see good car brands making profit
SlaVIA Auto ambition variant is giving 2 LAKH discount, even verna doing same. BEST PRICES FOR 5STAR RATED CARS. Thnaks to Slavia-Virtus-Verna-I20n-Line FOR keeping PERFORMANCE LINE UP ALIVE.
I drive Taigun 1.5 GT, driving experience is wonderful on highways. We dont feel the speed inside even if we drive at 100km also , braking and control is very good it gives confidence to drive at 120km etc. Highways mileage average 18km/l, cities 8 to 11 depends on traffic. Only drawback its hard suspension and we feel it on bad roads. Completed 1st service its free. I think first 3 services are free. I am happy with Taigun GT.
Valuable information. Does buying a used vento manual Tdi 2019 driven 47k makes sense at this point of time . If yes at what price point it could be a good deal
they can definitely sell more if they fix some of the critical issues reported by customers, taking 3 years to fix a window roll down issue doesn't look good for a company like vw also improve dealer/service experience
Hi Sundar ji, I'm also an avid fan of VW TSI DSG cars. My first car was a Vento 1.2 TSI DSG and I'm still driving that car for 8 years. Last 2 years I have tried many other Automatic car as I'm looking for a replacement. Unfortunately, none of the car upto 22-23 Lakhs bracket could excite me like my old Vento excites me even today after driving more than 118000 km. I had tried VW Virtus and Taigun before trying other make. But, unfortunately Skoda VW group is not giving good exchange value of old vehicles of their own brand for repeat clients. Also, seeing elimination of some features like single touch window up-down button, illuminated switches, window up-down through single touch in car key, high quality insulation in Engine bay and top quality fit n finish and not as good quality interior plastics as it used to be 7-8 years back, which were offered in 2014-15 in all models, are not offered on even top models today. But, unfortunately, neither Im able to adjust myself in any other brands of automatic nor I can upgrade to Audi, BMW or any other high value car. But, I have to change my car soon. Im looking for a suggestion from your end. Seeing the very high market dynamics towards SUV type cars, if I buy a new VW Sedan car now, will I able to resale it after 7-8 years? My 1.18 Lakhs KM driven Vento 1.2 TSI DSG TOPLINE is offered 2.0 L by VW dealer against a top of the slot Virtus or Taigun. Now, im not sure whether i should go for Virtus or for Taigun. After driving both, my heart is saying Virtus but seeing such low exchange value, mind is saying Taigun. Your suggestions please. Also, if you are coming to Kolkata anytime soon, i will be more than happy to show your my first car. Doesn't want to sell it but cant keep it. Its a Volkswagen disease, difficult to recover completely.
Try exchanging at Škoda showroom. Generally they offer better exchange price. Low resale value may be due to DSG, since the car is clocked over 1L they know DSG may give up in sometime.
@@arpichiru ok please check and let me know. Since yours is TSI petrol, I m sure it must be dq200. I do have DQ 200 in my car so but worried. What much city driving u do ??
I'm having a polo 1litre MPI petrol 2019 model and I'm happy but I still miss my Fabia diesel 1.5 which my elder brother bought in December 2013. They seriously need to work on their hatchback game. Cuz we need hatchbacks. In tier 1 cities like Delhi Mumbai people need hatchbacks for daily drive. I'm still upset with my decision. If I would have waited for 6 months I would have got TSI in comfortline. But I'm really happy with my slavia. I'll wait for them to launch polo or any other hatch back to launch before retiring my polo or even keep this polo and buy a new one. Thank you Sunder bhai for posting this video. I've been your follower for a long while. Whenever you're in Delhi ncr please let us know. We'll be obliged to meet you❤
Very well said, its not just me but my wife and my 12 year old son too misses our Vento sold after 3 years for joining compact SUV herd. Well year 2024 mid planning to buy Virtus automatic to live with it.
Personally having a Virtus 1.0Higline. Currently Doing a Trip from Bangalore to Delhi via my friend’s Kushaq Monte Carlo 1.5 DSG. I can safely say it is the best mid size suv (taigun included) in terms of driveability, solid build etc. The stability it offers @150-160kph is mind boggling. nothing no product beats it under 30lacs. I saw many people in bangalore hyderabad preferring VAGs over other brands. The craze is there just bring 1 troc kind of product for tier 1 cities and 1 under sub 4m for tier 2 cities. They will happily achieve 5% till 2025
I am a very happy VW Taigun 1.5 GT Plus owner. VW cars are one of the best options for people for whom driving dynamics and safety are paramount. If you want Bose speakers, leather upholstery and 360 degree camera these 2.0 cars are lacking. Otherwise for people who are considering a VW. Go for it. It gives me 8 KM per Ltr in Bangalore traffic. (My old tata tigor used to give around 10 kmpl)On highways it is around 20 KM pl (I don't drive too slow. Set the cruise to around 100 on expressways and highways) There is also something these turbo engines offer and can be seen in the video as well where Mr @Sunderdeep is enjoying his overtake at 12:14
Virtus 1.0 manual is better than the automatic? I live driving mostly city drives and weekend on the highways So shd i go for the manual or consider the automatic i want performance Ofc under 16 lakhs
Good analysis. The point is performance cannot come at the cost of ownership experience in India. Ownership experience consists of interior finish, cabin design, seat space/comfort, features, reliability, after sales service and maintenance. These are points that have a tangible impact on the buyer directly. Things count from showroom sales person attitude to service centre response attitude. If a brand does not provide the above but provides excellent driving dynamics, acceleration/power most people would not buy. I feel they have not cracked the market as consolidated market share is still around 1.5% and that’s not a percentage you can sustain with in India long term.
Bhaiya ji namaste from Hyderabad I’m buying a used car I have two options Vw Vento highline 2020 1.tsi 55k klm done, Skoda rapid onxy 2019 1.5 tdi 74k Klm done Which should I buy
I have slavia 1.0 style mt(bought in September), and I'm pretty satisfied with it. Drive quality is very smooth and confident with City(Chandigarh) avg ranging from 13-15 kmpl depending on very heavy traffic to normal traffic and on highway with 4 people it easily gives 19+ avg on speeds 75-80. I also calculated the avg difference cost and found that if any car has 2km more avg then on traveling 1000 kms it will create a difference of Rs 1000 avg only. One thing which is a bit annoying for me is that all the controls are touchscreen, so if I'm travelling alone and i want to make some changes to air speed or turn on the defogger it is pretty distracting. Not sure if it's possible or not but there is an unassigned button on steering wheel and company should give some options like temporary defogger turn on on the press of that button. Also the company doesn't provide all time tyre pressure monitoring but it only shows notification of low tyre pressure when it gets low. All these are software updates so I'm guessing these should be possible to implement but still these aren't there, why? I don't understand. If you meet the reps of these companies maybe your can discuss this with them to raise this with them .. 🙂
I purchased kushaq 1.0 onyx plus last month. It’s driving dynamics 👍🏻👍🏻. No comparison with other brands because kushaq & slavia is affordable product of Audi for India 🇮🇳 I request to skoda plz upgrade after sales service & number of service centre with showroom.
Bhai mere bi 2 point h 1st: pehle 10 lakh ke andr maruti hyundai ki bhut sari diesel gadiya aati thi Jo achi mileage deti thi Lekin aaj ki date me sirf kuch hi gadiya h 2nd point ye h ki aadmi ek baar paisa lgake koi bi gadi le skta h lekin after sale service compatible rate me honi chahiye
I think vw never taken India's market seriously ND when vw taken serious then automatically sales improved by vw 2.0. Hopefully vw gives polo to us because there is only one car in segment with power ND dynamics is hyundai i20 nline which comes with now manual
1000 percent agree ! Vw is letting youth crowd go. No newly started youth would go for cars more than 10 lakhs. They will definitely shift their focus on Kia or Hyundai which are full of features n pocket friendly.
We have bought i20 sportz CVT this month I definitely would have considered( and might have as well bought polo. ) There was no other reliable option ( petrol automatic) at 10L other than i20 or amaze CVT If u say altroz, usme service related doubts the plus extended family me altroz hai so i wanted something different
Sir ,agr polo ka top varient virtus k base varient k features k sath 10 lkh onroads aata h to , ofcourse jo samjdar h , i20 , Baleno ko chor k polo hi lega ,
I also believe volkswagen polo is still 'the enthusiast car' in the second hand car market But under 4 meter suv/hatchback can be task difficult for the company to produce because the this will become a car only ment for Indian audience, cause there are option for hatchback like polo and golf outside india which doesn't come under 4 meter Indian audience will love to see a car compact pocket rocket ,but a customer will also see practicality and points which will make customer choose a product or other product ,which polo lacked because in the end a car under 12 lakhs is a big investment for a middle class family
I am a huge fan of Japan cars and also European cars especially from Germany they really know the driving dynamics ,I like this sedans and hatchback much better than suvs hope this creates somewhat of an enthusiastic market in India like for people who love driving
1ltr tsi polo aaj bhi baleno,i20 se bahot achi hai bas thoda interior me dashboard change karke or space manage karke aaj bhi achi kahsi sale kari ja sakti hai
what they can do is launch polo in Highland and Topline 2 Manual and 2 Automatic options. Plus these guys are known to develop tech no car manufacturer emphasise on headlight throw quality. They can offer the best light throw in the segment along with some minor fixes like one touch window up-down and better/neat carpeting hiding metal parts.
Sir, I’ve one question, maybe you would have addressed this in your other videos why can't VW give 6-speed TQ instead of DSG with 1.5 in the market like ours which is very sensitive to reliability? I mean the DSGs have become reliable but still, there is fear deep down inside. Was thinking of buying Skoda Slavia 1.5 AT but couldn't gather the courage to buy it as we were planning to keep it 15yrs. Finally bought a Honda Elevate coz the sedan only meant Slavia or Virtus to us. Even though we are satisfied with our purchase we still think of the Slavia in sedans but the gearbox didn't allow us to go for it.
Its the opposite Sir, VW and Skoda aren't able to meet the demand for 1.5 TSI with AT DSG for the quota they are assigned for India with these Engine+Gearbox in India. TC would not unleash the real potential of 1.5 TSI. Nor it is smooth like DSG/DCT.
When Polo came in india in short time there was lot of cars I could see on roads. Polo with a TC gearbox now will bring fortune for VW. There is lot os scope for small hatches in India. Hatches are suitable for indian crowded cities. It can be an ideal safe second car for those who own 30+ L Suvs/premium cars.
Excellent Video Sunderdeep..if only VG decision maker listen to your logic. I remember, in 2010 December , i sold my fiat Uno n was looking for a hatchback as honda City ,Verna looked very long to handle in delhi.A practical hatchback was the option.I looked at ford Figo , polo and Hyundai I20. Figo did not appeal basis interior n looks and it was I20 n polo. Both had decent looks n interiors.I chose I20.As Hyundai had stronger presence n better after sales compared to Polo (it was 3 cylinder too). Come jan 2021, we tested a lot of cars for our second car n test drove Rapid,Hector, seltos, sonet,Honda City.Hector was best ,but low fuel efficiency n new entrant shied us away.Same with Kia at that time.Rapid was ageing n kushaq just came in-untested. We went with Honda City -cvt(dream car for a middle class).Again in 2022 December changed ageing I20.Again tested about 15 odd models n settled for Venue N8. The reason is explained in a ownership video to Daksh. My choice was between 4 to 4.2 metre with Taigun 1.5 GT at top.But the fear of unknown n low resale(couple of issues on EPC, AC, Rattling) etc dampened our spirit n went for venue N8 DCT. Yes Taigun 1.5 GT test drive was mind boggling, so we're enamouring looks of Astor n heavy build. But chose Venue N8 ( earlier Venue , we all hated for poor looks, n back seat comfort) I see your point on a polo like hatchback or a golf or even Fabia. Plus they do have hybrid engine too , use in golf. Hyundai, tata ,Mahindra , top companies don't have.. I stayed away , again from VG group was for uncertainty associated as to long term presence and after sales services which Hyundai is quite top notch.. Sorry to bore in a long monologue, perhaps a ownership video will bring this out in elaborate manner nicely.. Otherwise full respect for VG cars.
Would it be fruitful to wait for Polo GTI in 2024 as a CBU or should get tiguan/octavia VRS / octavia/ superb( used ) Requirement is enthusiastic car with 2.0 litre TSI
It took me 8 months to select a good car for me. I was not sure it be SUV or Hatchback again. My need was fixed, Auto AC: Cooled Glove box, Arm rest for Back seat, safety, mileage, good ground clearance, good drive experience. Maruti GV mannual, Alroz Automatic was in my mind and Heart was with Slavia. On being forced I visited VW for Taigun and closed my hunt on Virtus. Virtus has all must to have feature you probably will use along with Suberb driving driving control. 110 km/h is like 80 km/h for back seat passenger. Efficiency is 18km/l in my 80% routes. Tashan alag , car gives you status symbol to I realise when many say its different and good (money invested). Happy I didn't gone by copying other decisions and listening to my need and requirements. I belive , every car is not for you , buy one suits you and match to your driving skills.
Sir I was looking to buy a used car, I saw offer for Volkswagen vento 1.6 TDI Highline Diesel 2012 Model December registered vehicle with 109000 km odo reading for 4.2lakh. is it worth it?
There is a Compact Crossover called VW Taos which is slightly more than 4metre (4008mm length) . They can trim it down to 4metre and sell it with 1.0TSI engine and gearbox manual and TC . Because the polo will never come to india as its difficult to get it under 4metre for hatchback segment. But Taos can be broght to india. They could rebadge it as a skoda later on. Heck the sub 4metre sedan segment could also be revived with a VW Ameo again with a slightly detuned 1.0TSI engine from Vento Rapid , they could redesign the entire car to make it modern, different headlights, taillights, grill and a bigger wheelbase than its predecessor because rear seat legroom and underpowered petrol engine was the biggest disadvantage of Ameo. The sedan Crossover combo can work again in sub4 meter market below 12lakhs segment. I hope they realise it.
Jabtak chote shehro mein showroom aur service centre nahi banate tabtak achhi sales figure expect karna bekar hai. Log sochte hai gadi ko service karane har bar 200-250 km Jane se accha hai Honda ya Hyun dai after vernas 5 star
What I think is, there is very little percentage of people in market who are going spend below 10-12 lakh. I personally think they would not consider vw over Suzuki. 🙌
