With this medium, I am trying to share my knowledge and experience after reading a lot and piling on real life opinions.
Just compared taigun and Nexon sizes taigun is slightly bigger than Nexon and if compare to creta it is having very small form factor. Small form factor of their suv is big problem for customers. Taigun 4221 mm Length, 1760 mm width and 1612 mm height. Creta 4,330 mm L x 1,790 mm W x 1,620-1,635 mm H Nexon 3,995 mm L x 1,804 mm W x 1,620 mm H Polo 3970mm in length, 1682mm in width and 1453mm in height.
I have once told the salesperson of vw and skoda that company should bring a car in each price range so whoever customer comes, he must see the car in his budget. The biggest mistake they have done is not brining polo facelift. A hatchback has been always a hot seller vehicle in every brand. They could sell almost 5000 to 6000 polos every month and same goes with fabia. These hatchbacks are mostly used by first time buyer. Also, if they bring any other car with named as Polo then it will not get that much sale. We didnt buy those cars because it is named as polo, we bought it because its a hatchback which is affordable and top notch in driving dynamics. Please ask VW to bring Polo and Fabia and they will see the changes in sales.
Dont buy taigun or virtus. I have since last 2 years there is constant problem.in the car of brakes suspension and ekectriconic. Service centre are illitetrate and carekess snd will only spoil your car further if you try yo fix it. Buy other brands keep your mental peace. VW as a company is s thief.
Sir Ji, Par VW dealers are telling they are not aware of this news. In their terms they're looking for partners for EV. We all have misunderstood the news😅
Sir, I would like to submit certain points to the VW/ Skoda group to consider 1. The head of India VW needs to be replaced. 2. Market study on vehicles selling most & the reasons needs to be assessed. 3. So much on VW accessories required to be done, we indian car buyers wants to modify cars as per our taste.... VW cars strict rigid attitude on it is not correct. If at all VW doesn't want open market accessories to be put on there cars then VW can think of implementing by themself ie.. 360 camera, ADAS, Dash camera, sunroof & many more. 3. They need to have more varients in each segments. 4. Focus on more numbers of service stations & easy spare parts availability in open market. 5. Add more features because we Indians love to show off. Allow buyers to get things installed from market or you introduced them at your dealership. 6. Size of the car does matter serious work needs to be done on that. 7. Electronics parts & AC needs drastic improvement. I hope some one reads this from VW/ SKODA I can write such a long comment because I am a slavia owner. My compliments to you for creating good videos Regards
Other car manufacturers doing copy/paste technology,as you know; but VW has their own R&D which coast hardly to market them cheaper than others. I am a proud owner of VW Taigun GT, hence promote anywhere 🎉
So sad when i heard this...these mistakes already done by.....CHEVROLET FORD FIAT ...and now VW.....they are all make a good cars but can't understand....indian consumer.......pls VW don't make mistakes ....we love your technology....but VW should be understand Market strategy.....like Korean and japan indian......we have no more courage ....if you leave india like Chevrolet ford fiat....i never buy any cars ..if you leave india i will buy bicycle...but i never buy other brands instead of you
VW should bring back again Polo,Vento,Ameo,Jetta,Passate,Arteon,Taigun,Tiguan sare Models market mei continue kerne chahiye apne aap us range ka customer adopt karega.baki Polo,Vento or Jetta& Passat superb Quality product hain jis technology mei hamesha vo aaye hain, baki Indian customer ki paying capacity bhi samajhni chahiye.ek ground clearance thoda jyada hona chahiye.Inko Vapis se 1.2 TSI engine petrol or Diesel ka 1.2 TDI engine Lana chahiye.Timeless design bhi hai jisse pleasent look dikhta hai.
Moreover VW group misses out on its own strong points. All windows up and down and a windtone horn were things introduced by VAG. And now they are missing out on it
Inko polo wapas lani chahie aur suv-crossover bnana chahie brezza ke takkar me, aur tiguan ka body leke ek sasta gadi banana chahie xuv700 aur safari ke against. Taigun ka bas width increase krde to buyers is gadi ko bhi bilkul consider krege.
I'm still very satisfied with my Kushaq. Alot of friends also told me that I should've gotten creta as a first car. Also I could agree to the 2 points that you mentioned. I was going to buy virtus 1.0 but my parents told me to get kushaq also Verna's SX interior was REALLY hard to ignore it's way better than my kushaq.
I vote Sunder ji for VW India head! You spoke like with so much of pain and hope. Waiting for my Kodiaq now, I am second guessing my booking after they made such statements.
Imho the issue is not catering the 10-12 lakh bracket customers and having a very small line up of only 3 cars in which 1 is a lot expensive for the middle class buyer. Really cannot understand the fact that if a sub 4 meter skoda suv can be made then why not a sub 4 meter hatchback can be developed by the VW group. My friend drove our Taigun and convinced his father to go for the same. Only when people will drive and realise themselves how good the cars are only then they will buy them and in order to so they need to cater the lower segment and make them realise how good the cars are , increasing people’s confidence in the brand which will then also allow them to sell their expensive models in the future as well to the same customer
As Volkswagen guy i always go with vw My dad bought vw vento tsi 1.6cc in 2012 then we bought ameo tdi in 2016 Now I hv vw taugun topline , buying vw is worth because of its safty , technology and turbocharger engine Really disappointed having seeing new. I am worried about Volkswagen should not leave India Driving a Volkswagen is like you driving 🚀 Idk why people spreading fake rumours on vw is leaving India because of this many people are losing their trust
aue waise abhi aap kisi ke poocho ki kaun si car le to sabke zubaan pe ek hi naam hai maruti ye phir hyundai ye jo stereotype hai isko break karna bahut muskil hai, plus VW ki car ka size thoda chota competiton ke hisaab se, thodi si bulky honi chahiye par ye loog global design rakhte hai
Forget Polo! VW is in the process of leaving India altogether. Be very cautious before putting your hard earned money into their cars. They might suddenly pack up and leave just like GM, Ford and Fiat.
VW living in their own cocoon. 'Over engineered' isnt exactly the word that comes to mind when you drive the Taigun. They should have given the 1.5 GT with rear disc brakes.
VW group bharat ki market to halke main lete hai ye global purchase pe jayda focus hai ishiliye bharat ke loogo ne VW ko choor diya hai, waise ye issues sirf VW or skoda main hi hai waise AUDI to daba ke bik rhi hai
Having used a Suzuki, hyundai and currently vw ( in my 20 years of passionate driving), i will stick to vw/Skoda anyday. But the management needs to listen to locals if they want a steady growth. Declaring that selling the stakes to local dealer, to gain some momentum or steadiness, is plain laziness. Btw i am in line to buy a used octavia vrs 230 😂 Cheers A very well analysed video by you sir. They should seriously consider to hire you officially as product advisor / manager / marketing. They should keep that EGO aside and work at local level
This is what happens when you take customers for granted. Saying their cars are over engineered for India is nothing but Sheer arrogance. Instead of working on improving quality control they are giving such statements. Owners page on facebook of new 2.0 pseudo germans are filled with issues every next day. I would want them to leave India now, it should make a remark globally how they failed in India in front of Indian and Korean brands.
Ford left india just after two months since I got a new ecosport and I feel the pain of service quality degradation slowly. I am thinking of getting virtus or slavia dsg 1.5 and discounts looks lucrative. But i feel the prices depreciation will be much more worse than the discount after 4-5 years. Second problem is the reliability of the dsg. I agree cars are pretty much fun to drive but my dilemma is I am reading blogs and people are telling that stopping car in D by applying break/ aggresive launch kills the dsg. I can't expect my wife to tp always switch to N every time on signal and not use auto hold. Other part is, when I am continuously thinking of taking good care of the gearbox after spending good 22-24l, fun to drive rewards are just half. Why should i go for 1l engine if its not very good for city usase and doesn't have significant milege advantage?
They haven't been able to understand Indian market for so long is their own fault. Not of customers Who asked them to keep on bringing Sedans but they don't have a compact sedan or a hatchback even as an option. Why they are after cars that are longer than 4m in length. If they make SUV then it doesn't feels good enough for 5 passengers. For Indian specific models like Virtus or Taigun why people get rattling noise or less ac performance. Don't know if EPC issue got resolved fully or not. Who asking them to give performance cars where most can't drive at more than 120 Kmph. They should focus on cars engineered till 150 top speed at max and focus on comfort and plush cabin experience too. If we driving in city then why not getting soft suspension setup. Now they forcing Turbo engines only onto us when MPFI engines can work for us. Instead of 1 Ltr turbo why can't they provide 1.6 Mpfi 4 cylinder engine. Where we will use turbo ? Neither they have hatchback like i20 which most would have preferred to own if it came from VW group. Neither they have car like Amaze in compact sedan segment. What would most do with too long sedans ? Sedan market was already dying then why they brought sedans again as an investment. In Suv don't see an option like XUV 3XO from VW stable yet which is good enough for 5 commuters. To bring prices down they can do one more thing that if they providing 7 layer of paint then can reduce it to 4-5 layer coating. Neither they have 7 seater option like Carens. It's fine if VW group gives 4 star crash test rating for such cars engineered for Indian market. MG is providing plush interiors while VW doesn't feels in that league. Add to it people have mentioned about exorbiant service charges if their cars break down. At times service charges were so high that it came out like one can get a new car almost at that price. Till such issues are sorted things won't change for VW even after JV
I can totally relate to your point at 11:00. I am that papa, i had shortlisted VW Virtus and Kia Seltos. My heart really wanted Virtus but it didn't appeal to my family. Nail in the coffin was the AC in 1.0 model. When my family sat in seltos, AC was a chiller, coupled with a panaromic sunroof. Top notch fit and finish. I knew I had no choice but to go with seltos comprising on safety and performance. We Indians are emotional people. We want best bang for our buck. My insta/youtube feed is still full of Virtus. I keep crushing over it. But news like this kills that enthusiasm I have for VW. I really felt they were nearing success in India. I so wish they remain solo rather than becoming a redbadged Maruti for Toyota.
They can survive only if they could make Taigun bigger or bring Polo as a bigger SUV, Bringing more features to Virtus/Slavia like ADAS, 360 Camera, etc. Make Tiguan and Kodiaq more rugged yet class-looking, debut in the compact SUV/hatchback segments with new cars.
